Listening to you play this brings me back to moments as a child on his farm, with family gatherings and such wonderful music. I just want to send you a big hug and say THANK YOU! This is fantastic. I love that blues touch in there. It reminds me of John Fahey's interpretations of old time music in his 60s recordings. Nora is really at one with the soul of this music and where it comes from.

Lord - it just gets better and better. I have listened to so many variations on the Lost Gander. The last top one for me was Lukas'. Just found Nora. And it surely exceeded my last top. This is one of those rare tunes as well. So every new generation hopefully keep on reliving it - pushing it to the next notch. Isn't that what humanity is all about - keep on pushing? Or perhaps a better word than pushing is new-ing, reliving, re-giving...

One of the prettiest renditions of WGC / Lost Gander I've heard. I learned it from recordings by Mike Seeger and Stephen Wade but now I'll have to find Virgil Anderson's version. Amazing, Ms Brown.
Ms Brown is a scholar on a par with the Lomax Brothers in the early 20th century... Jerold Paxton is another serious scholar of this really important music that carries forward through the oral tradition of story telling.. and 👀.. dancing our sorrow away.. listen 🎶 she is telling you about the people who came before
