I rememeber seeing this as a kid in the theater and laughing SO hard at that part 🤣
I betrayed THIS!
Korey: This movie’s ridiculous
Judge Dredd: I knew you’d say that lol
Well at least The Cure contributed to the soundtrack with the lovely ballad Dredd Song. ❤
This movie crawled so Dredd (2012) could run. Dredd is like one of the best action movies I’ve ever seen.
Love Armand Assante in this movie. You want fear? I am fear, you want chaos? I’m the chaos, you want a beginning? Here I am the new beginning! Classic!!
Between this and his vocal performance as Tzekel-Kan from The Road to El Dorado, Armand Assante does a great job at playing villains that chew the scenery.
Assante's over the top, devilish cartoon of a character kept me in this movie as I've rewatched it during my adult years.
@@Paranormal718😂😂😂Same here, it's soo over the top, it kept me entertained
@@Bigedub101 And for an absolute serious tone of a film which includes an over the top character, I have to go with Norman Stansfield portrayed by the great Gary Oldman in Leon: The Professional.
@@Paranormal718That's basically kinda how he is but more cartoonish which I like since this movie sooooo not the real Comic. Plus he had some quotable lines I used to say to my siblings as a kid. U want chaos
Fun Fact: We know James Earl Jones did the opening narration, but guess who did the opening narration for Dredd (2012)….the actor who played Shao Khan from Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
Brian Thompson narrated 2012 Dredd Interesting

Sylvester Stallone took that helmet off and wouldn't put it back on like he was Tom Holland Spider-Man!
This is from the director who after this did I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. This is actually one of those rare superhero movies that is so bad it’s good, everything about this movie is so wrong but it’s so entertaining

"Seriously, no one can say that word?"
The LAWWWW!
LAAAAW!!!
Dredd is the coolest character since RoboCop. Also Sylvester Stallone was the best action star in the 90s even this Dredd movie is pure fun even goofy with Rob Shiender being not as good as the 2012 version. For doing a roast, it’s well entertaining. 😂
Judge Dredd came out in 1977.
Ummmmm Dredd came out a good decade or so before RoboCop. Also, Robocop is/was heavily influenced by Dredd.
I almost saw this in the cinema with some friends, but then we saw the SPECIES poster and plans changed.
Lmao!!!!
We already had a black Judge Dredd... Clarence Thomas (insert 🥁)
Don't disrespect Judge Giant!
The movie might have turned out better had the director make the movie as the script was originally written. Apparently, Stallone requested a lot of changes which lead to the finished movie
The fact that Stallone wanted this movie to go his way makes a whole lot of sense now.
So basically, Stallone ruined this movie.
Ego ruined the movie....thank God for dredd 12
Though Dredd is the far superior adaptation, this one is as fun as 90s Stallone movies get. It's baffling to think how hard Hollywood tried to push Rob Schneider on us in the 90s, considering how batshit he's ended up in the 2020s.
Dredd is far more grouded take on the comic.
The 2000's were no better for Rob Schneider.
The Animal
The Hot Chick
Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo
It's no wonder South Park made jokes about his movie career. Those fake trailers Trey & Matt made might as well be actual movies Rob would star in.
Judge Dredd had the right astehtic and somewhat right tone. Dread had the right casting and tone.
Basically, if you put Karl Urban in the 1995 Judge Dredd movie with a tweaked script and made it less of a Sylvester Stallone action movie that is Judge Dredd in name, you'd get a perfect adaptation.
I thought that Batman and Robin was the final warning to never let him make another superhero movie....apparently not
I'm typing this pretty early into the review, so I don't know if it was mentioned later .But I always thought Paul Verhoeven should have directed this
He worship the LAW!! Say that with your jaw to the side!!!!
Right! 😂😂😂😂
Should've hard cut to Rob Schneider when you said, "So where did this movie go wrong?"
“I am the Law!”
I've been waiting twenty years for this review
Worth it!
@lenindominguez1986 there's always one dude that doesn't get it congrats bro
@@Chris_MKII 😆
The narrator at the beginning was James Earl Jones... WHOA. I must have seen this movie a hundred times and I never knew that until now.
This has always been one of my guilty pleasures.
It's funny how this and The Demolition Man are so similar.
Both 90’s action movies take place in the future, starring Sylvester Stallone as the lead, and has Rob Schneider as the comic relief. The only difference is that one got better with age while the other… Eh, not so much.
I sometimes get the two movies confused.

Heads up.
I had a blast seeing this in the theater with my dad. Back in the 90s, we never missed a Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Willis, Seagal, or VanDamme movie in the theater. What a golden age we lived in.
I'm not too much of a Seagal fan, but everyone else you mentioned are Action Movie Legends!! We will never get actors like them again.
I NEVER BETRAYED THE LAW, I AM THE LAW!!
Hot take: Stallone and Schneider work better then Sandler/Schneider
😂😂Exactly
There's a reason that you usually pair a goofy character with a straight man. Someone has to reel in the silliness so we can get on with the plot.
TRUE STORY: I haven't watched the video yet and i haven't seen the film since it came out, but Schneider lives, right? Bc I saw a test screening of the film in Pasadena back in the day. In the test screening cut, he DIED very near the end, i think shot. Which means the rest of the test screening audience, filling out the cards later. demanded Schneider live, AND THEY DID RESHOOTS TO SAVE ROB SCHNEIDER'S CHARACTER, which is insane bc i'm not convinced an audience would demand the REAL rob schneider LIVE. I hope i'm mistaken and i'm thinking in reverse, and in the test screening Schneider lived and the test audience demanded that he be killed. Bc i love a happy ending!
Martin, you're wrong.
They filmed Dredd in Johannesburg, South Africa. It's not bad but you can see where they filmed some of the scenes.
My favorite part is always the scene where Rob Schneider remembers Dredd by covering the top of his face to just see his chin hahaha
Dredd should've got a sequel.
100%!
You talking about Karl Urban's version, then yes.

Finally! I've been waiting for this upload for months!
I think Double Toasted should do a comparison of both Judge Dredd movie to their own perspectives on them. Please.
Dedd is a more grounded take on the comic.
Headbutting used to be instantly cut out by the ratings boards in the UK and probably many other countries. They didn’t even allow headbutting on VHS, DVD and certainly not on BBC 📼 📀 📺 🇬🇧 🤕
The funniest thing in this movie is when Rob Schneider said, “I am the law.”
Only 4 thumbs up??? Here's mine!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think that end part of " Dredd, I thought it was you!" , was part of another scene that was cut. That guy that took Dredd's helmet off was supposed to resemble Rico and signify that allot of the Judges are actually clones.
The review is back!
I saw Dredd first and LOVED it. Then I watched this one and loved it for a very different reason. It's campy and hilarious. Without meaning to be 😂
Oh my god they actually released it!
They thought they were creating Shakespeare with this film.
i swear Hideo Kojima must of been inspired by this movie because that whole liquid snake vs solid snake is very similar to what they did in this movie.
I dig these bad 90s movie reviews. I don't know why but the golden age of bad films is definitely the 80s to 90s. 80s ones are frustratingly bad, 90s they're annoyingly bad
Not for nothing but I found it funny when I was a kid when Dredd kept saying “I KNEW’D YOU SAY THAT?!”
Dude, Rob Schneider was KILLING ME in this movie.😫
He kill us all every time he opens his mouth.

Such a Guilty pleasure movie, But dredd was never meant to be campy
Taking off the helmet was a big mistake
Armand Assante was awesome as Rico. 🔥💯
A movie so clunky and forgettable it made me almost not watch Dredd, which is a fantastic action movie.
I hated this movie when I first saw but rewatching it recently I’ve kinda enjoyed it for what it is. Dredd is so much better tho. I wished we hit a sequel to that one.
Ya'll keep saying "this movie was trying to be Robocop" when Robocop was originally a Judge Dredd project that couldn't secure the rights. We didn't really need a Judge Dredd movie because Robocop already got the heart of Dredd right back in 1987.
JD being a UK comic should have been a UK production... instead we have US accented JD movie... just in case you can't tell if it's hollywood...
This movie have good moment and the chemistry between rob Snyder and Sylvester Stallone
Where has this review gone from my watch later ????
Another great thing about this movie (that I'm saddened you didn't talk about) was the score. Alan Silvestri did a great job with the music. I even own Intrada's 2-disc soundtrack which contains ALL the cues that Alan did for the movie, including the music that was made for the trailer composed by Jerry Goldsmith. I may still prefer the 2012 Dredd, but Alan Silvestri's score is one of the saving graces of this movie.
26:34 as much as I hate this movie, this scene always had me laughing cause of how over the top he is since nighthawks
This is a guilty pleasure for my dad and I. So many fond memories of watching Sylvester Stallone movies.
This is one the best bad 90s action movies. It’s fun. And the production design is campy and awesome
Ohhhh man love this shit, ive waited so long for you to do a bad movie rewiu of this bad flick
i liked this one as good as Demolition Man
So Rob Schneider was in this and Demolition Man?
This is a guilty pleasure of mine
I adore that giant robot in this film, I will literally watch the movie just for the big robot. And I'm not into robots or anything, but that thing was awesome.
43:35 Goddamn...When Rob Schneider starts dropping knowledge, you know you're fucked. 😆 🤣
I remember we rented this as kids, halfway in we shut it off 🤣
I remember the newspaper ad the good the bad the ugly
*_I AM!!_*
*_THE LAWL!!_*
Alan Silvestri's score still slaps.
this one is a hundred times better than the modern one
Judge Dredd video game on Genesis was really good better than this movie
Talk about Tim Burton movies having too much influence. Both this and Batman Forever from a year earlier featured the Statue of Liberty being torn apart. 🗽
Do Showgirls next!
Not a terrible film, just "meh". Starts out promising I guess, but it's a kind of grab-bag of Dredd "stuff" but missing the brutal nihilism of it all in exchange for laughs and a generic plot.
In the 90s and 80s every scifi future city is the same city. Blade runner, the 5th element, judge dredd, super Mario bros, etc watch them all back to back and you'd think it's different sectors of the same city
The Crow city looked different though
@@nasiru17 again different sectors
@BizznessBox I wouldn't go that far, they all thought we'd end up like the movie Pluto Nash
honestly, i really LOVE this movie. I know everyone says DREDD is better which at an extent it is. I dont fault this movie for the time of being released, they took this niche comic property and made a big budget blockbuster starring one of the megastars of the time in Sly. Add in Rob Schneider for comedic relief for all Gen Audiences.
The production design in this film is amazing, the sets , the Robot animatronic, the Bike, the costumes, even Sly to a point.
If you really take out the Rob Schneider element alone makes this movie MUCH Better!
I Suggested Roast Nowhere to run 1993 Jean-Claude Van Damme movie
Yesss... i was waiting for this!!! "Happy motoring" is my favorite scene hahaa!!!
I saw it months ago, and now y'all reviewing it. It was only a matter of time lol
This movie will always be a classic. Regardless of how sh*tty it looks back all these years later.
Classic !! 😭
“Mr. I am the Law”
25:20 My God! Please, someone make that Judge Dredd Big Mac Special commercial. Down to it concluding with, "did you throw that wrapper down?" Down to the sentencing. 😆 🤣 😂 #IKnewYoudSayThat
Now yall gotta do the animal
Judge Dredd was awesome 😎
I have a special place in my heart for this Tomfoolery of a film
I also enjoy the chicanery in this film
It must’ve been well over 10 years ago, maybe more, the Planet Hollywood restaurant in Times Square New York City had Sylvester Stallone‘s Judge Dread costume on display.
It was on a mannequin.
I am barely 5’8” tall when wearing shoes, but this costume, even with boots, looked way shorter than me.
One of my favorite Anthrax songs, I Am The Law, was written about the comic.
My favorite comic crossover is Batman/ Judge Dredd. It’s a classic. I have “2000 AD” in my collection. Great review of Judge Dredd, Double Toasted fam! You guys always make me laugh😂
Dredd is so good though
Another movie that pulled that James Earl move was war of the worlds. Maaaan did i wait for Morgan Freeman to show up on screen only to realize he just does the narration.
This is basically The Demolition Man sequel right here.
I always said this to my brother. And that Demolition Man was a better movie.
43:27 these where actually 2 separate storylines, Judge Cal was also crazy in the comics (the man is literally Judge Caligula) and showed up long after Rico was dead.
And Rico was just a dirty Judge. He was also exactly like Dredd and it raised the question of how pure is Dredd anyway? There's actually a interesting comintary that everyone genetically similar to Dredd turns against the Judges except him.
I dont care how bad this movie is, it has a special place in my heart.
I find it as a guilty pleasure, and fun fact Jerry Goldsmith was going to have the Rambo reunion. I don't know why it was but Alan Silvestri scored the movie as far as we got was Jerry was the trailer music which my guess the theme
Hell yes! I been waiting for this one.
There's a lot crossover comic with Judge Dredd.
Judge Dredd vs Terminator
Judge Dredd vs. Predator
Are really good back in mid 90's.
Judge Dredd vs Aliens
16:28 😂 Korey funny as hell in these reviews.
I saw this opening weekend when I was twelve. A friend and his mom took me. I kind of knew about Judge Dredd but not really.
Loved the costumes, loved the action, loved the Alan Silvestri score and LOVED Diane Lane!
Is it perfect? Is it totally accurate to the source material? No on both counts but I still had fun with this one and can appreciate it for all it does right more than what it does wrong.
Honestly maybe I’m just a huge Stallone guy but I never really understood the hate for this movie. It’s a wildly entertaining brutal action film with Stallone kicking ass. I like Karl Urban but never really understood the high praise of the 2012 movie.
I love this movie but I accept criticism for it. But that was my jam and still is.
I aint gonna liei love this movie n the sequel too n plus i grow up with his movie anyway n also some people r right hat it's kinda similar to demolition man too lol but i love that movie too but people still didn't know how to use the 3 seashells lol 🙏😎😂😂♥️♥️♥️♥️
