When I walked this trail in 70's & 80's it was in great shape. No vandalism, most facilities still worked. There where springs you could drink from. What a shameful sight to see how they haven't taken care of it. 😥😥😥
I live down the street from it . There use to be a beautiful water fall but the kid's from the projects knocked it down . When it rains that flood bad. Kids in the summer go swimming after it rains and they get swept away. But it's a good park to walk . They use to have horses that would walk the trails but I don't think they do it anymore
You are correct they used to be restrooms just like the video I just watched before this this is where I used to live I grew up around Pennypack I'm from Philadelphia now live in Jersey the bridge you're heading to is Frankford Avenue AKA Kings Highway

Great park. I hike and fish there often.
Heard they restocked trout very recently :-)
I live right off krewstown road. AKA, snake road.. If you know the area then you'll know where I'm talking about
The park is a gem in NE Phila. Too bad there's riff raff settling in there!
Wow 1781 that’s old!
Philadelphia Fairmount Park which consists of the Wissahickon Pennypack and a bunch of other little Parks is the largest city park in the world
Wissahickon is one of my favs.
In the summertime they have free concerts once a week if that Amphitheater they have some pretty good cover bands
