is there more songs he performed or is that it???
Thx!
G-d bless you
No house of balloons/ glass table girls?
@@best4businesswrestling there are more songs...
but there are no full preformace on yt 😕
The fact that people are singing along to his songs when this is his first performance is just. Insane
And newer fans don't sing along now
They do be clowning 🤡
First Performance ever or first Public Performance? Either way props to him!!!
What else do you expect from the Toronto crowd?
It’s called having fans before having a performance
He wasn't even a mega superstar and he got the whole crowd singing. Amazing 😭🙌🏼
they literally paid to watch the show so yea they know the lyrics
Mega superstar? He was unknown except for day 1s
I miss when he had a cult fanbase
God bless whoever recorded this masterpiece
This better be in the documentary
FR
The way it was recorded is just perfect
Same, i love the shit quality lol
And today, exactly 9 years later, he's the most streamed artist in the whole freaking world. 🔥
XO 🤍
First time I heard him in 2012 I could tell he’d be a legend but damn he might be best artist since Michael Jackson at this point
facts
He knew then he had a product that everyone wanted!
Today is 10 years exactly
He still the world's best artist right now.
He looks so nervous bless him
This is the greatest album to ever exist. Trilogy forever
No Kiss Land? I mean, I love Trilogy to death, but cmon
@@azurnxo2134 Kiss Land was amazing but nothing beats Trilogy. This shit hits different
@@RekzaFS I was in the same situation as you are right now and always thought that there's nothing close when it comes to Trilogy. And boy, was I wrong. Kiss Land hits way deeper and takes you to a higher dimension. Trilogy does that too but Kiss Land, at its max potential, is sonically out of this universe. Fucking love The Weeknd, man.
Trilogy is a compilation album from his 3 mixtapes. His first real debut album is Kissland. So I’m assuming you mean the greatest mixtapes ever! 💯
@@Marcellus-ro4ko On God
his genuine smile started it all here. the talent and the modesty. he is an entire portrait of beauty and triumph and deserves everything he’s achieved since the beginning of this legend, right here!!!! XO
he had some fanbase before this right?
@@missestomlinson99 it was more of local/word of mouth type of fanbase but this was also in the same era when he got the big first co-signs from ppl like juicy J and all considering it’s 2011
@@mv6xxbeats655 fax! He was already makin music with big artists at the time. He made “remember you” with wiz khalifa and “one of those nights” with juicy j
@@Trilla531 both timeless classics definitely !!
@@Trilla531that was the year after this
His songs back then were a whole vibe, his new songs are also amazing !! But I adore the oldies
Facts
Exactly!!
@@mrgoodtimes018 he's no longer in the same situation and experiencing the same stuff as he was in the past so I understand the change in music
@@mrgoodtimes018you not a real fan if you don’t fw all his eras of music. so much talent goes into it all.
@@mrgoodtimes018actually his new stuff is a lil bit depressing such as BBTM,MDM,After Hours and DFM
I swear "Cali is the mission" was sang the loudest by the crowd (on top of Abel's voice). He made it. And even though he hated it, he made it.
I first heard him in 2012 the song “What You Need” and wondered why isn’t this guy famous? 3 years later he blew up and now in 2021 he is a Legend! I think he compares to The Beatles and Michael Jackson as one of the greatest artists of all time. Nobody in the 2000s holds a candle to this man!
Wish I was at the mod club happy 9 years for XO and the GOAT The Weeknd
9 years ago today. Crazy XO forever
I wish I could've seen this epic moment in music history
The crowd tells the story.
When I lost my motivation I comeback here. The birth of a legend.
the crowd passed the vibe check
I love how he smiles at the end of High For This like "I just fucking made it!"
It has been exactly 10 years today since the legend’s first performance 😎😎
I know this was a show to remember. I’m so jealous of everyone who got to attend lol. I know the energy was massive.
4:43 that turn turned the music industry
❤iconic moment for abel
This to Selling Out Stadiums... What a journey Man ...
Hats off... XO
U can tell he’s like “holy fuck” at the beginning
But as he starts to sing, he’s like, this is for me, we did thIs
How he looks around
If u noticed, at a certain point his ego starts to take over, at first, a new change can be weird at first, but with perseverance, the Ego can accomplish things you never thought you could.
2:45 - 3:19
This cannot happen with out the Ego
Watch the way he carries himself and sings, before he takes the mic off, aka a trigger
what you mean by ego
I will never forget him and his older stuff...they comforted me during my darkest times. Love you Abel
Happy The Weeknd Day! 🥳🖤
The live instrumentation goes insanely hard. Them guitars man!
10 years old, nothing couldn't predict what legend Abel gonna be. More 10 years later, he's biggest popstar in the world. Goddamn, I regret to not discovered him early, I discovered him with Love Me Harder with Ariana Grande in 2014, his entire discography is impressive, but his first songs of Trilogy was and still great bodies of work. I hope he still on contact with his debut career's mates.
A legend was born
all the people that was there to experience this legendary night... im jealous... abel you are something else
He’s so much of a better performer now! That just shows you sticking to something and hard works pays off!
Listening to this is too much nostalgia for me. Brings me right back to 2011-12.
I was at his concert in Prague just two days ago. In comparison with that big awesome show, this is such a humble beginning. Yet, such a beautiful voice and music and lyrics! The crowd didn't know how he looked like. They loved his voice and his music. They were already going crazy at his first concert. Even his very early, before he became The Weeknd, unreleased songs were good. Pure talent. He was bound to be this big of a star. Even though I didn't like his HBO show, found it funny actually, his music will probably always be my favorite. I hope he can learn a lesson from The Idol and instead of pretentious writing, he will write his own genuine stories and succeed in that area too. Even if not, I will still like his music. Go Abel! XO
yo the nostalgia is almost making me sad
Ahhh... my heart. They have made it so big man it's so overwhelming
y'all happy 10 years. im so proud of him.
This is one of the most legendary videos of all time this is one of his first performances live on stage the vibe is so good cuz you know everyone there is a big fan
This man is my whole heart in the music industry!! I'm XO everyday forever!! Abel did that shit to me!! 2011 love him.
Seeing this after watching "uncut gems" makes you realize how long ago 2011-2012
Like watching my baby boy grow up 😢 no body deserves this success more than him ❤
I'm surprised this video only has 40,000 some odd views. I feel like it should be a lot more. This is the beginning of a legacy. XO
1:58 . A Legend Was Born ! XO till we overdose
10 YEARS if y’all from Toronto y’all lucky to have this man
10 Years Of House Of Balloons 💯🐐🖤
I’m honestly just so happy this guy is successful. Been listening to him since high school. Ten years in and he’s still that nigga!
What I wouldn't give to be born a few years earlier.....to be old enough to be a fan, to experience this....
4:58 sounds like the start of often 😳
Happy birthday to this video, damn.

Anticipation in the room was crazy 🙏 for the weeknd

Wow, the Blackberry at 11:17! Times were different haha. Great to see Toronto being put on the map!
he was probably on a lot of pills and waved, but he was having the time of his life and you could feel it. Abel Tesfaye XOTWOD
This is a moment in history
back when people lived in the moment, only about 5-7 phones in sight
First performance was actually at some university of Toronto. There’s a video of it.

Imagine being there.
Legendary
El artista Abel tesfaye tiene una voz hermosa nadie lo alcanzara el es unico y el mejor artista ❤❤❤❤❤❤
10 yrs ago.... CRAZYYYY
Back here after DawnFM became the #1 album globally
I refuse to believe he’ll retire after 14 years, he still has more to give
The theory is he's retiring The Weeknd persona but not fully retiring
Now he's selling arenas. ❤
I used to listen to this, on my iPod, just the audio version when it leaked, and used to memorize the narration from everyone talking. “That Skinkyyyy”
Damn and they permanently closed it down in November of 2020😭😭
This was definitely filmed on someone's iPhone 4 and like that a Star was born
XO till we OD 🤍🖤
