translated by Google). For me, this game is a masterpiece. Thanks to the atmosphere and realism, which is not overcomplicated by a bunch of mechanics. This game really conveys the horrors of war: destroyed houses, the constant whistle of bullets, propaganda posters, skeletons of machines, your soldier in it feels not like a doll, but like a living person thanks to all these cries during the battle. And the music! Did you know that in this game, each side plays a different track depending on whether you win or lose? And most importantly, it is dynamic. Always. Whether the map is big or small, you are always in the thick of things, you don't have to run 5 minutes to get to the points.
I was fortunate to play this incredible game during its prime around 2014-2017. I miss the regulars who all had distinct personalities, the team leaders who would rally us to a come-from-behind victory, and the heroic last stands where all your dead teammates watched you struggle to survive. Of all the games I've played, I miss this one the most. Sniffylbread, Sir Anthony, Vasili Zaitsev, Zeddy, Comrade Wolfe, and everyone else, thank y'all for the memories.
Man this was the second game I ever played on my brothers PC, I think I mostly ever played with bots cause I was maybe 7 or 8 at the time and didn't know how to work the matchmaking or anything like that, but it was fun playing with the bots I think my brother did get me into maybe 1 or 2 real matches but other than that I mostly remember the bots and I just remember the game being so fun and detailed and I loved the gore aspect like when you blew people up or shot then with that anti tank rifle, I think I only ever liked playing as the Russians cause of the anti tank rifle but I really loved the Germans as a kid and my favorite bot was Otto lol I always tried to protect him from other bots, man it was a great game but so was killing floor I really loved that one, that one was super easy for me to play and to okay online, I wonder how it is all these years later, cause I mean killing floor 2s alright it just ain't the same as the first the first just felt like it had a million more maps and items lol
I remember playing it during Beta and now I feel so old. I miss the atmosphere. Let's not forget how abysmal the "single player campaign" was though with those terrible bots, LOL.
This game has a really great potential, but Tripwire does not even give a crap about It. Remember COD WAW and how It revived in 2017? Something like this MUST happen with this game
this game is tough at the begining, but once you get to know which one is friendly and which one is the enemy, its pure fun. you won't find kids from cod, apex and other noob friendly games here in this game.
Most people, especially zoomers don't have the patience for a shooter that isn't based on racking up as many kills as possible. The number of people I played with as commander in RS2 who would get irate and refuse to listen when I said "stop focusing on kills, work towards the objective" made it almost impossible to play. After CoD and the like no one has the patience anymore to do anything in a multiplayer shooter but work towards a "kill streak"
I played a lot of RO1 back in the day when it was just a mod and also enjoyed RO2. I think I reached max rank on a couple of guns like the SVT40 and PPSH.
Is it just me or are almost all newer games not as good as older ones? Seems like newer games only care about monetizing their games with shitty skins and battlepasses lol. No wonder why I keep re-downloading these older games since the gameplay is 100% better.
I used to own in this game, such a fun game as well. Nothing competitive about it, just the music and the scale. Maps were amazing for infantry combat.
No, we simply just moved on from an outdated game that still continues to be a hassle to run on newer systems, and Tripwire can't be assed to update it. Not to mention it isn't helped by the fact that more than half of the community plays on the same maps and same campaigns over and over. Most cases they don't pick good ones either and custom maps will crash most player's PCs. Even the most beefiest of PCs that can run Cyberpunk 2077 on high struggle to run custom maps on this game for no reason. Not to mention its expansion Rising Storm is dead, despite it being an actual fun expansion of America against Imperial Japan, and the overall stupidity and toxicity of the remaining player base doesn't help it either as it they continue to drive more and more players away, despite them being the same ones saying "it needs more players" when their shit attitude is the problem. As great as this game was, it isn't anymore and players who continue to play it religiously, suffer clear sunk cost fallacy.
