I wouldn't say older versions are better optimised actually I think it's the opposite. The new versions(1.18+) seem better optimised compared to the old ones. the older ones just simply didn't need as much resources

i would assume if you have an old drive with purely just games and photos maybe possible but i would assume a drive that had some sort of older windows data on it wouldnt be ideal since it could clash with Atlas's OS

I just installed a fresh version of windows 10 on a laptop I fixed. It is an 8th gen intel i7 chip inside of it. Once I did that, I just installed atlas OS from the download folder. No need to create a separate iso or bootable usb stick.
If you want even better Minecraft FPS, consider switching to Linux. For some people they have noticed a 100+FPS improvement in performance (not even joking). Java is extremely optimized in Linux.

I have HDD , 2 GB ram 533MHz Dual core 1.4 GHz And it runs very well I can play Minecraft on average 70 fps .. I fully optimized it .. No need to install atlas And also fixed at 60-61 processes

For what I do it doesn't make sense, I require a lot of proprietary software to make content and I don't have a lot of time to troubleshoot things if they go wrong.

Why would you go through any of the install steps for AtlasOS when you could just run a Windows 11 (or 11) debloat script in ~30 seconds and get similar results, I bet Chris Titus' winutil could probably do most of the things Atlas does, but completely customizable. (Both Atlas and WinUtil are open-source)

But what about the best free 3rd party safety programs? Is Atlas OS even firewalled? Open Office? Can atlas strip down a highly used Windows OS? Then.. the minimum system requirements.. what are they in Atlas? Show us the actual performance gain. I guess they are around 4gb ram/32gb storage. Two cores in CPU. This comment is being written on from that kind of a 200$ "Windows PC", from a 2017 Asus R417S now booting to Chrome OS Flex. Previous Win 10 OS had 2 gigs of free space. Now i have 19gigs of free space in a boot drive i suspect to be integrated. Chrome OS Flex turned this PC from total junk to RUclips friendly. No Playstore though.. I wonder how Bluestacks works in Atlas OS.. Lastly a suggestion: To really pull all out of an old pc it would need maximum gpu or other hardware performance optimizing techniques for the use of the OS. Something for the Atlas developers to chew on. Cheering for you Atlas crew!

I just wanna get my old potato laptops running better, they have windows 10 home installed on them, and they are from the era when windows 7 was still really popular, so they can hardly run with windows 10 because its so heavy. so im hoping this OS can help them live a little longer before i have to throw them in the dump.

Also in RUFUS it should be set to MBR if used with an older PC which has a none-UEFI-BIOS.

Don't upgrade to Windows 11. You'll get shittier performance and stupid features that you probably dont want (redesigned right click gui etc.)
