In today's video I decided to try to and install the NEW Atlas OS which has recently come out. Lots of people use AtlasOS thanks to my videos on it so today we're looking at the NEW Atlas OS on my Low-End PC
AtlasOS is an Optimised version of Windows with minimal background Processes, Reduced latency and will help improve our FPS and performance on Minecraft, The project is open source and is install slightly different to other OS that I've featured on my channel
If you are always looking for a good OS like I am then I think I may of found it, right now it's only for Windows 10 but Windows 11 support will come very soon
If you saw my last video where I showed you How To Optimize Low-End Laptops and Boost Minecraft FPS I tried many different Operating Systems and Atlas OS is one of the best a lot of people also use ReviOS and Windows AME which I might check out soon.
This version of Windows optimises Windows settings, removes all bloatware from the OS and removes privacy intrusive telemetry services from Microsoft.
The specs of the PC I'm using to run AtlasOS:
Intel Core i5 4460 CPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 1060, 500GB SSD

1. 5:43 AtlasOS will work on both pro and home Windows 10 editions
2. 7:11 You are supposed to run windows update after disabling driver updates using that registry file
3. 10:05 You don’t need USB-C driver for GTX 1060 (It’s only for some RTX 20 series card that have USB-C on the back)
4. 11:00 Lower process count does not necessarily mean its better, obviously it is compared to stock windows but that’s not the whole story
5. 13:46 Minecraft has terrible performance in recent versions, making it basically impossible to play on some hardware without a lot of mods, don’t worry about fps lags and stuttering in newer vanilla versions (1.13 and above, older versions have somewhat of a good optimization)
I wouldn't say older versions are better optimised actually I think it's the opposite. The new versions(1.18+) seem better optimised compared to the old ones. the older ones just simply didn't need as much resources
@copiuum I get more fps on 1.19.4 than on 1.8.9
Also in RUFUS it should be set to MBR if used with an older PC which has a none-UEFI-BIOS.
Does the latest version have bluetooth?
@@4090ti Yes but it is disabled by default, you can enable it from Atlas folder on your desktop.

Don't upgrade to Windows 11. You'll get shittier performance and stupid features that you probably dont want (redesigned right click gui etc.)

Yeah even on a good computer I still like to have no bloatware and minimal processes running in the background
@@NotroDan But that just so helps us too, since we are not able to afford crazy PC's (this comment is coming off of a 2021 Lenovo IdeaPad 3 I got for about $270 this January, and it broke my bank account, as I'm only 16)

Basic tips for 1.19: always go for crits, and the loading bar on the bottom of your cross hair. That's the delay and if it hits the small white line from it, it means you can crit again. And I recommend just going for crits every time.

dont always go for crits, go for sweep hits sometimes
@@LeastBeautifulBacon sweep is just a slash + in netherite 1v1's it wouldn't really help a lot. Almost every PvP player goes for a crit, and if you did do a sweep then your just tryna do a combo
@@wrxshyt4972 doing kb in netherite is possible and is pretty easy to do, sweep hits are fine, crits are also fine.

Might use the Windows 11 version once its released on my new pc as I don't want to jump down the Linux rabbit hole and just use WSL + VMware instead in the mean time.
5:44 it does work with home or any other windows edition, that's one of the advantages of the new atlas!

This is the legal way to do it. Otherwise you have to have Microsoft's permission to distribute ISOs.

I have a big suggestion you’ve been doing all types of content like tech videos, and Minecraft 1.9 vids make a channel for Minecraft, 1.9 and make a channel for tech
make sure to update the os before atlas
I just installed a fresh version of windows 10 on a laptop I fixed. It is an 8th gen intel i7 chip inside of it.
Once I did that, I just installed atlas OS from the download folder. No need to create a separate iso or bootable usb stick.
Any important laptop feature lost with Atlas in a laptop?
@@DropoutSound no, just the typical windows features missing. Security updates, windows defender, easy to get malware scripts.

From security point of view downloading and installing something, where you have to disable Defender, is little bit insane.
U Can install other antivirus
You're saying like if you don't have an antivirus software you will get hacked in 1 millisecond. Be smart and install a antivirus

Can you keep your old files? Or do you have to reinstall everything and transfer your old files in another drive?
i would assume if you have an old drive with purely just games and photos maybe possible but i would assume a drive that had some sort of older windows data on it wouldnt be ideal since it could clash with Atlas's OS

Is windows defender present on this OS? Or do I have to install a seperate Anti-Virus
A few questions come to place. One obvious being performance gain. Now if you run something offline it will propably be great. No forced update quotes on a offline mobile editing pc? Yes please.
But what about when you try to use Atlas as a daily driver online?
That brings us to question two, the optimal software updates. I like that quote that noted Nvidia xperience as bloatware. But what about the best free 3rd party safety programs? Is Atlas OS even firewalled? Open Office?
Can atlas strip down a highly used Windows OS?
Then.. the minimum system requirements.. what are they in Atlas? Show us the actual performance gain.
I guess they are around 4gb ram/32gb storage. Two cores in CPU. This comment is being written on from that kind of a 200$ "Windows PC", from a 2017 Asus R417S now booting to Chrome OS Flex.
Previous Win 10 OS had 2 gigs of free space. Now i have 19gigs of free space in a boot drive i suspect to be integrated. Chrome OS Flex turned this PC from total junk to RUclips friendly. No Playstore though..
I wonder how Bluestacks works in Atlas OS..
Lastly a suggestion: To really pull all out of an old pc it would need maximum gpu or other hardware performance optimizing techniques for the use of the OS. Something for the Atlas developers to chew on.

I just wanna get my old potato laptops running better, they have windows 10 home installed on them, and they are from the era when windows 7 was still really popular, so they can hardly run with windows 10 because its so heavy. so im hoping this OS can help them live a little longer before i have to throw them in the dump.

AtlasOS instalation process force removes Windows Defender and Windows Update and breaks many features making it unstable . Using it as a main os isn't the best idea

Question? I have a lenovo legion 5 with the gtx 1650 ti 6gbvram ver and it came with custom Nvidia drivers and when I try to update via GeForce it fails and gives and error? The drivers are from 2021. I get no issues whatsoever in any game I run but I'm still curious should I even update? And if so how? With ways that's verified safe and no chance to fail pls!

If you want even better Minecraft FPS, consider switching to Linux. For some people they have noticed a 100+FPS improvement in performance (not even joking). Java is extremely optimized in Linux.

@@typholhvhgod It might not be 100% perfect yet, but it's getting better extremely fast. Apart from games with privacy invading anticheat, almost everything works.

Dual core 1.4 GHz
And it runs very well I can play Minecraft on average 70 fps ..
I fully optimized it ..
No need to install atlas
And also fixed at 60-61 processes

It uses only 500-600 MB of ram
But windows 10 uses 1.2 GB
I can't use steam because some games not supported windows 8.1
