Hey everyone, let me know if you think I just got a bad/unfinished kit or if I'm just being dramatic.🤣 Also, if anyone knows what system that part provides vacuum for, please let me know! Have a great week!
I'm not sure what the standards of quality are that company, but there are more than one reason not to send a "finished" product to the customer like that. Liability may be @ the top. You managed it well. Nice job on the finished installation.
Great video my Brother! That battery box should have been packed better and the sharp edges taken care of for sure!! Loved the install and the explanation as to why someone would put the battery in the back!
Thanks bro! I guess if they mentioned it needed to have the edges filed down ahead of time I wouldn't be so salty about it. At least it'll do its job now though!
I’m not looking forward to putting my battery box in. Right now it’s in the spare well. I’ll probably get a Taylor box, I bought all my wiring separately. Youd expect more out of UPR however. Good to know..Great video! 👊😎✌️
From My experience all the aluminum battery boxes that I have seen required to be cleaned up before installation, You would think that the manufacturers would have more pride in their products and have better Quality control. I have always used Scotch Brite pads to clean up the edges and I use Nut Zert to mount them to the trunk pan . Great content please keep Us updated , Thank You 🇺🇸🇵🇷🦊👍👍
Interesting, good to know, totally agree! That's a really good idea that seems like it could offer a bit more positive and semi-permanent hold on the all-thread. I have to take this all apart again one more time so maybe I'll see if I have any rivnuts large enough. Thanks Ferdinand!
Did that battery box come with band aides? You sure made that box turn out nice...too bad for all the extra work to get it there. You always have such nice clean installations. Thanks for posting!
The vacuum canister does indeed go right above the passenger tire in the inner fender. I have a pic of the location that I will email you. If I was you, I'd put some of your sound deadening material underneath that battery box.
Awesome, thank you 89. That's great to know, I wasn't sure. I do have to take it apart one more time because I wanted to put some loc-tite on the nuts on the bottom, so I'll put the sound deadener under it at that time.
@@89gtsmoke I think it goes to the charcoal cannister. I'll look at mine when I get home. I can send you a pic... I sent one to Sleazy earlier this morning.
Thanks brother! Yeah it happens. I'm more worried about other folks getting something like this. I can pivot, make a salty video/review, and by the end have a functioning battery box. 😂 Someone else may get a much worse cut or get sued when a mechanic tries to replace their battery or something. Based on the reviews on the product though, it seems like I may be the only one to have experienced this. Maybe it was just a bad item like you said.

Thanks Rick! Yeah I've had good luck with UPR in the past, so I'm a bit disappointed. I think you did the right thing. Thanks again!

Thanks Todd! I know, right? Apparently its a common complaint with these kits. I really appreciate your feedback!

Also, I can get you in touch with someone that will have that harness for the fuel level sending unit. Let me know.

@89G the vacuum cannister - what system does it belong to, and do you have pics for the line routing?

@@89G that would be fantastic.
Pictures... I've heard their worth a thousand words. 😆
Thanks do much for being willing to do that
SleazysGarage your not being dramatic you got a bad product. But, you worked the issue and made a great video

what do you look for in terms of gauge wire and distance for the battery run? or not a big deal for < 10' ?
thicc 0/1 for the starter. even with the 2ga I'm thinking I'm going to see some draw issues when things are hot. we'll see though!
You would have been better off making your own box. That's some garbage.
lol, not sure about that, I tried to make a box once and it was pretty gnarly. but I did make sure the edges weren't razor blades.
Just install quit crying about lil damage sheesh ..these guys nowadays
Lol thanks for your feedback
