The thing you have to realize with Twice is that all the members are inherently cute and their personalities are so versatile that they are the only group that can truly pull off cute without trying. They can morph into whatever persona or mood they want and the fans will follow. Most other groups can't do cute even the ones that try to because it's just not natural to them. Twice is very unique in Kpop. They could easily release a cute song tomorrow and it would slap.
EVERY writer, actor and artist pass through such phase. Once they get old enough, they rediscover the importance of old times and re-embrace it. Also, it's pretty entertaining that Jihyo recreated both the Cheer Up and the legendary Rose 🌹 fairy ending, so effortlessly cute. TWICE members were gifted with such rare skill. It genuinely makes people happier, even if they don't fully realize it.
I think that's fair. We all grow and our taste matures with it. I think it's great that they want their sound to mature as well. Sure their early songs were great but it doesn't mean it's not embarrassing for them to do "cute" songs when they are past the "cute" ages.
The good thing is that where they are in their careers I think they can change the choreo to some of their old songs if they want. I just hope they keep some of the iconic moves like shy shy shy and T.T.
She's right though they are a senior group with more than half of the group above 25 years, they can't do the cute stuff anymore the music needs to mature as they mature showing a shift in time, they are artists after all, love how they try to always explore different things. I think they should adapt to their age and how they want to be seen, concept wise. If they see themselves as a mature group, their concept should match that and fans should support them. Jihyo, as you get older, (everybody in this business) has a tendency to look back at the body of work and state the same wonders and worries as you. It is natural to think of the relevancy of older, earlier songs in a later (more mature) time and think, "I'm embarrassed to do this song at my age." One thing to remember, your fans have grown older with you, and they still love this music, as much today, as when you first performed it. Take solace in knowing that the fans still love what you are doing, no matter what, and will not criticize you for performing what might be their favorite song! Keep the faith darling, you are all doing fabulous!

Honestly, I get it, you grow up and certain things don’t feel comfortable for you to do anymore, to be honest, it would be okay if they changed the choreo a bit so they feel better performing it. This needs to be fun for them too not just the fans, we need to be understanding of that. But, to touch on the first thing she said, I believe it’s awesome to see older groups perform again, kpop has changed a lot, most groups don’t have to disband after 7 years like they used to before, Twice being from a big company, and with their still growing popularity, could easily still perform into their mid 40s at least. And they are JUST in their mid 20s, to hear them say stuff like ‘feeling old’ is INSANE and show show toxic the idol culture is there. Here in the west, most artists start their career around their mid 20s.
Twice is gonna be like other bands in the groups in the west that they can take a time off even 6 months or a year and Once's will support them. It is amazing that they can still compete with 4th gen to win at Music shows. But I feel for Jihyo cuz as soon as she hits 30 and beyond her cute concept can be used against her for cringing her lol. Specially if she has kids The kid be like Alexa play Twice song lol. But really just own the cute concept at concert. They do the roulette anyways for their old songs.
