- Some time ago I filmed a video to test my camera during night and while it was walking along empty street some people left some comments. This is an experimental video where I tried to show Japanese suburb backstreets at night. Still my camera and lens are not the best for night filming, the picture is noisy. Feel free to correct my English or suggest a video to film.

Wow so surreal, about the only ambient noise is from the passing cars on the Main Street. Very cool video. Watching this on my Samsung 4K UHD HDR TV and it feels like I am in the video walking.

this video was the one that made me subscribe to this guy, he literally walks around for 1 hour and 24 secs at the middle of the night in japan while filming an amazing ambience of the city itself, the only difference between me and him is pretty simple, i walk around at the middle of the night for 3 minutes to buy some cigar, wearing some black whatever tank top, shitty shorts, and 2$ pair of sandals, yawning like there's no tomorrow and scratching my hair while im at it.
doing this in a place like new England would just be asking to get mugged and have your camera stolen.
Japan seems so safe, where are all of the military equipped police patrolling to keep order?
Walking is good for exercising but at night is rather quiet and deserted. Very brave!

It's the quietness and mild surrealism that attracts me. I love streets like this; the journey forwards is part of the attraction. The most stimulating images-locations-light-sound are often those that we can't consciously comprehend.

It must be nice to be able to this without the fear of getting mugged or something else bad happening to you. You'd never be able to do a video like this in someplace like Chicago or Detroit.

sirtalis69 Same is the case here in India, I want to go out for a quiet walk like this but the stray dogs keep us off these kind of streets.
You can literally search youtube for videos of people walking around Chicago and Detroit at night. Dude, people actually live in those places, stop demonizing them.
Cool and little spooky, but maybe a bit to dark better during full moon, lots of detail lost. I liked the new year winter one as there was more light due to reflections off of snow. But still enjoyed , thanks.

Im sure you've improved your night shots since then, but may i suggest a vintage lens with an adapter to the camera. You could find a 50mm f1.8 or 1.4 and you'll get lots of light to knock down that ISO to get rid of that noise. Canon FD 50mm f1.8 with an FD to Micro 4/3 adapter should do the trick. You can find these lens cheap all over japan and in a local Hard Off.

Why are so many people saying this? It's not true at all. I live in a big city in America and I take a walk through the back streets every night just for the exercise. I used to work the night shift, without a car, so back then I walked around at night even more. Unless you live in Detroit or something it's perfectly fine.

Это окраина города Итикава префектуры Тиба. Видео как раз заканчивается у реки Эдо, которая разделяет префектуры Тиба и Токио.
А названий у улиц нет.
