      Thanks! I agree with you. Hammock camping has a more freeing feeling and it makes for a better nights sleep. My set up now, aside from winter gear, has gotten super small. Appreciate the comment and all the best

      I got my squirrel cooker here:

      I don't have any affiliation with them, but I like their products and you really can't beat the prices. Hope this helps, ATB

      It's nice to be able to carry it on my back since the bike is kinda small. Looking for some side boxes for it

    aaahhhh as always with Fireball Malone... a happy ending. Nothing unofficial about how you do things, not at all. That land, those trees, your efforts to make it natural and secluded.... Quite official. Thanks for posting and of course, I will keep watching.

    That came our really nice. I like the campsite signs. Hard to believe your only a short distance from your house.

    • @fireballmalone1
      @fireballmalone1  8 лет назад +1

      Yeah, I really like the signs. I think the second site is about 3/4 of a mile or so from the house. Site 3 will be all the way as far back as I can go, with still being secluded. Thanks!

    very cool those are made in another country right? I watched several video review on them and they look great. that's what I'm looking for is a bug screen, most of my hammock camping has been below 40deg. so I didn't need a bug net. thanks again love your videos

    • @fireballmalone1
      @fireballmalone1  8 лет назад

      Yeah, I got mine straight from DD out of England. The underquilt fits right to it too if you take it out in colder weather. One of the cool features it the bottom piece is actually two layers and the sides have Velcro tabs to slide a sleep pad or additional sleeping bag in between them. I have used a sleep pad and it seemed to work pretty well but upgraded to the underquilt for winter camping. Really appreciate the kind words, be safe and have fun!

      Thanks! I got mine on Amazon. Try this www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00LQUKZG2/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1470188553&sr=8-3&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=helinox+chair+one&dpPl=1&dpID=517OL3MS3QL&ref=plSrch

      Thanks for the reply. Wow that chair is kind of pricey. But I guess you get what you pay for. Have to save my pennies...lol Enjoy!

      @fireballmalone1  8 лет назад

      +Dennis Kuenze I was on the fence for a few weeks because of the price but man it's pretty awesome. I had a tripod chair for a while but you can't sit back, doesn't give the same relax. ATB!

    How fast can that bike get up to?

    • @fireballmalone1
      @fireballmalone1  7 лет назад +1

      Jared Avery I think it tops out around 20 mph, I'm 6'2 230 and it moves pretty good. It's definitely not built for long rides but is a lot of fun

      +fireballmalone1 Thank you very much! Is it comfortable? Do you recommend it? Keep up the great work with your videos, they are very interesting!

    • @fireballmalone1
      @fireballmalone1  8 лет назад +1

      Out of all the camping gear I have, the hammock is my favorite. It is very comfortable and will last a really long time. I think I've only tent camped 2-3 times in the past couple years of having it. I've tried a couple different hammock setups and this is by far the easiest and in y opinion the best. I have the travel hammock but they have a few. Let me know if you get one! It's exciting! ATB

    What mini bike is that?

    • @fireballmalone1
      @fireballmalone1  6 лет назад +1

      J Belle It's a Baja Motorsport I got from a tractor supply. They discontinued the black one so it was 1/2 price but they are still pretty inexpensive. I have used this one a lot and I'm not a small guy and it still runs well. Hope this helps! Cheers!

    nice place great video. where are you located. and how do you like the dd hammock. I have an eno and I've been looking at those.

    • @fireballmalone1
      @fireballmalone1  8 лет назад

      I can honestly say the DD hammock is my very favorite way to camp. I've had mine for a few years and since it's made so well it's still in perfect condition. And I don't always treat it as well as I should. The screen is sewn on to the main piece and nothing gets through it. It has good ventilation and no bugs. I live in Tennessee and out of the many places I've lived, it's my favorite. Thanks for the comment, atb

    • @fireballmalone1
      @fireballmalone1  7 лет назад +1

      Dawn Corrigan :) I usually carry a small firearm with me more to scare off any would be predators. I've been lucky and have only had to use it once with a wild dog. It didn't come back after I fired off a shot towards the ground

      fireballmalone1 ok You should get a quad

      @fireballmalone1  7 лет назад +1

      Dawn Corrigan I have a Honda side by side that can get me back into the woods but my bridges aren't wide enough for it. I built them before getting the Honda. This year I am planning on widening two of them and build a cabin out there.
