I requested this, thxs so much to reacting to it. I'm a big fan of theirs, there in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Had many hits Good Lovin, A Girl like You, I've been Lonely too Long and People gotta be Free. Lead singer Felix Cavalier is still performing. Keep up the good work.
Love this song, definitely in my top 10 faves from the 60s! It's the perfect morning song. The lead singer, Felix Cavaliere, also played the organ that's why he's situated to the side/ back of the band. That organ is almost as big as a drum kit. Two of my other favorite Rascals songs are "How Can I Be Sure?" and "People Got to Be Free" (the ultimate hippie/ flower child song) LOL
I have to say that it was delightful to watch you enjoying this song. I was about 10 years old in 1967 and already listening to music on the radio. Brings back a lot of memories. Thank you for sharing
The young rascals simply became the Rascals as time went on . It’s the same band . Italian Americans out of New Jersey . Fun fact the rascals were the first American band to not play to segregated audiences . Well what can you expect when Wilson Picket was one their heroes .
Luv all their songs. So very soulful. One of my favs (w/so much soul) is "Temptations 'Bout to Get Me" w/ Felix & Eddie doing the vocals. Y'all gotta listen to the vocal arrangements. Amazing artistry!
Some drummers are singers and they are always in the back also. Most of the time if the singer is on a piano or keyboard or drums, they are either to the side or in the back. Guitar players, bass players, or singers with no instrument at all are usually arranged in the middle and front area. It's just the way the band is set up on stage. For example, the band, Grand Funk Railroad had two lead singers that would trade off on singing lead. One was a guitar player and the other was a drummer. When the drummer would sing lead, it would be too inconvenient to move him and his whole drum set to the front just to sing his song. Because then he would have to move the drums back to the back again when he wasn't singing and someone else was singing. It would be too much trouble and take too much time to move all that equipment around on a live stage. Another great example would be The Eagles. The Drummer, and two of the guitar players were all lead singers on different songs! Again, the Drummer would just stay in the back to sing his songs while playing the drums. I don't know about the 'Young Rascals', but it's possible one of the other guys in front may have sometimes sang lead on other songs, so it makes more sense to just keep the keyboard player where he is and give him a microphone to sing his songs while playing the keyboards. That way they don't have to spend time moving everything around.
Their drummer, Dino Danelli, was one of the greatest of all time. Watch him on the Ed Sullivan show live playing Mickey’s Monkey and Been Lonely Too Long. You’ll see why!
Thanks for the great review, and thanks for sharing your beautiful smile.

This band is in the Rock & Roll HOF.
They were inducted by Steve Van Zant from Springsteen. It was his favorite band as a kid.
Similar song by them from same era it's a beautiful morning. Nice song
Actually one of my favorites. Their in the Hall of Fame and so deserve it. Felix is still performing.
They started as Young Rascals but later were known as The Rascals. Thanks for this song. I love this music.
Brilliant summer song! Welcome to the Golden Era, this fits right in!
You were Groovin' to this one.
You did do one by the Rascals. They were originally known as The Young Rascals. Same group. 😀
The dramatics stars in your eyes

1967, what a year for music!
Don’t know if you’ve reviewed it already but their song “People Got To Be Free” is a great one.

Saw that. He blows up the place. Awesome drummer!
Yes we used to call that blue-eyed soul
The group changed its' name from "The Young Rascals" to "The Rascals" after their third album.
Go listen to "Time Peace" their greatest hits album. Every song was a hit and really catchy! New Jersey strikes again!
He’s in back cause he plays the piano. The piano is never in front.
The Studio version is so much better. They had a very nice sound.
The live versions had a lot of distortions.TV productions weren't so great back then.
