I like that these tracks seem more designed for clean racing compared to the first Redout, I'm not really liking having to bump into walls for best performance in Redout (which I'm playing right now).
@@Techhunter_Talon my point was that redout did not penalize wallbouncing much at all: It was a turn strategy, and not at all required either. Redout 2 will be right up your alley, as wallbouncing will always kill your run. I'm glad they fixed that, but it's a little (ok maybe a lot) harder too.
@@RicochetForce It's a budget title by an indie studio for a niche market. I don't think they are going to make any substantive changes. It's fine if you have the time and drive to really learn the tracks and the handling, which is true of any good fast arcade racing game. but no you can't just breeze straight through it; it is old-school hard, maybe a bit too hard, that's all.
"nightmare difficulty isnt so spooky anymore" says the ALMIGHTY joltout being a mere 900 meters ahead of second after a lap of the BOSS LAYOUT, and having spent two thirds of that lap in 7th.
I like how there were three laps instead of the 'standard' two. This is a pretty course, scenery wise...Especially while racing through the field(s) of cherry blossom trees. Thanks for the upload. Look forward to more =)
Legendary, as always. I'm still struggling through A tier. It's gotten to the point where ships are fast enough that my little mistakes are accumulating way faster now and have been struggling, especially as I keep grinding my nose. Wondering if you have any advice for high speed turns that require pitch *and* strafe to handle, and just pitch control in general. Still, I want to say that watching your videos has legit made me a better pilot. Keep on making awesome content!
@@lazertrainshark Hey! Musta missed this comment or not had replies turned on at the time... But yeah you could say so lol. Even at the time of your reply I was starting to master tracks at higher and higher difficulties, and even though I only just started back up, I was able to blast through my favorite tracks (these and the new Terror Rupes) on Nightmare. Patience and persistence paid off and it's taken a fraction of the time for the muscle memory to return.
Thinking about it, but might see how I go with content and streaming in the near future first. In the meantime, I just chill on the main Redout server.
okay so how are the rest of the tracks, i see that mt fuji actually flows quite nice, do the rest of the 'worlds' have this as well? or are there a lot of 'you have to slow down to crippeling speed to make this corner' type tracks? ofc there should be some variety but i like it when the tracks flow nicely so that you can actually make it through clean if you race well
There's a variety of styles in game. Cairo flows well but is technical, while Fuji is about full speed straights for the most part. Other tracks have their own niches and mixes of styles, but obviously some are more brutal than others.
Mt Fuji could be so cool but the track colors are butt ugly, it's the second ugliest locale in the game. the lighting is all wrong for the skybox and the mountains should be deep dark green. Did you choose Asera because it's a weak ship for that location?
@@Techhunter_Talonsounds just a little ethnocentric to me, implying it is less "fitting" that non-Asian manufacturers are also racing there... lol... I figured Jolt wanted a challenge.
if there was an Esports league for this game, it would be hella fun to watch
Especially if there was a spectator mode.
That would be so sick
Racing Redout 2 online is even better; and well worth getting my a$$ handed to me...most of the time.
I would bet real money on Redout races, that'd be fun
The game needs a big fanbase first. Unfortunately theres not many people interested in AG racing :(
God the speed is insane, makes the first game look like a leisurely stroll through the park with your grandma

Mt Fuji is the first location and the tracks are mostly very clean: also you can expect to pay dearly for bumping the walls in Redout 2

That was because he was using the Asera ship, which is one of the worst ships in the game. I tried it and I couldn’t Win against nightmare ai
Man, I just love the fuji circuits. They're all so fast.
Oh man.... This tears off a few layers of my conjunctiva.
This game looks so good, I'm purchasing it right now lol
When Fuji Speedway gets an upgrade
Was just waiting on that +7 km lead and damn was it satisfying.
This game in VR would be awesome
And terrifying because of the speed

You became the nightmare!
I long for a VR AG racing game. I just want to puke at 2000km/h
Mt. Fuji is such a beautiful track, even when you're blasting through at 2,000 kph. Also, nice choice, using an Asera ship on the Japanese track!
I wonder when they are going to fix THAT boost pad
Thought it was just me.
So satisfying
bro you are op pls keep making videos
Planning on it, don't worry ;)
Badass as always
kilometers per hour? miles per hour? nah, fam. I only measure in beard-seconds per jiffy.

So it's been 8 months since this comment. How's your performance been? Did ya manage to get all the movement down pat?
just make 3th or higher then come back the speed upgrades are a bit farther down.

Ok
Amazing 😮
Damn I may give nightmare difficulty a try and see if i'll like it even tho I might lmao
1:12 Did the game just bug and didn't count your collision with the boost pad? Nice run by the way! Hope everything is well.
Might just be a hitbox size issue. Some pads can be a bit wonky like that, but it's nothing major. And thanks! All is well, hope the same for you! :D

What setup did you use for your ship ? That's definitely not the stock arcade ASERA.
I mostly went for more top speed, slightly less thrust and a balance for the rest of the stats.
So, what's the secret to Asera, I'm having a hard time finding success with it. The low top speed just messes me up too much.
That boost control is insane btw, such a treat to watch.
@@GuidedGuide the secret is BOOMST.
or more importantly, being able to unleash it in areas that aren't perfect straightaways without hitting walls.
Yeet the orb
the Asrea are basicy a big battery pack you have to boost all the time with it.
so is asera all about feathering the boost? i feel like i have a much harder time on asera than on any other ship because the lower top speed
Nah, I just did it when I thought I had the space and time to generate the heat between turbos.
I really miss the Female announcer from the 1st game. The game looses a bit of its personality without her.
How can you keep with this game i crash the whole time. 😐
ai or multiplayer?
Nightmare AI.
