I don't understand why the lyrics are switched like this. In french she wants him to let her go and in english she's like "don't let me fall". Also, "let the night shiver within me" is so much more beautiful than this...
I think it's still about letting go and whatnot. Just in a different way. While yes, I agree, the French is much better, I feel as though in this version it's more along the lines of her wanting him to move on from her. While she does say 'don't let me fall' she also says 'don't let me fall your way'. I think she's not saying 'catch me' but more along the lines of 'don't let me fall in love with you again'.
