    Great tutorial on this process! Just another way CTA5 is a powerful way to quickly animate.

      Thank you, yes, speed is definitely one of Cartoon Animator's main strengths.

    Great coverage, you answered a lot of the questions that I always had when it comes to making a custom-legged character. Thanks again

    The best masking demonstration I've seen so far. I finally get it. Thank you.

      Thank you. I'm glad you found it to be useful. Since CTA got SVG support, the masking tool tends to be somewhat forgotten but it's still very handy when using PSD images. 🙂

    Great explanation of the masking feature, thanks a bunch.

      Thank you. The masking tools don't get nearly as much use since we've been able to import entire templates from a graphic editor, but they're still an important part of being able to work quickly in Cartoon Animator.

    This is great, can I adapt this to human characters

    • @animlife
      @animlife  11 дней назад

      You could. It's a similar process if you use one of Cartoon Animator's Human Dummy Characters. Though I do have a free course to rig and your first front facing Human character in Cartoon Animator at makeanimatedcartoons.com/freecourse

    Hi Mate, it's a very good video, but I'm stuck. I followed all the masking steps, but at the end, when I moved the leg or some other part still, I could see a few images on the back. Even if I applied motion, a few legs moved together. Please advise.

    • @animlife
      @animlife  Месяц назад +1

      Make sure that once you separate a leg sprite that you go back and erase (mask out) that leg from the original hip sprite, otherwise you'll get double legs. Also check the wireframe in the composer/bone editor to make sure it is outlining individual legs and not two legs together (which could happen if there isn't enough gaps between each leg in your original sprite).

      @@animlife Many thanks for the reply. I am sorry, I am very new to designing. When I went back to sprite, I could not find the option to mask out, and also, you did not do this in the above video. Please if you can just point the exact option how to mask out. Thanks

      Do you mean after making a mask, I should erase the background?

    • @animlife
      @animlife  Месяц назад +1

      @@zahidislam7786 Your character image should not have a background. If it does, you need to remove it before you start. Your image needs to be a transparent PNG image with the background removed (transparent). If you're using a JPG image then you need to convert it to a PNG and remove the background before you start.
      Also, this entire technique is using the mask editor. I can assure you, everything you need to know was demonstrated in the video. You use the same image to make each leg (and the head) - erasing everything that isn't the leg you're creating. After that you need to go back to the hip sprite and use the mask editor to erase the legs and head from the hip sprite (as shown in the video).
