      I like how that washer has a high heat setting. Have an LG now, and like it so far. But most of us don't need to use hot water, except for the self-clean cycle I run every 1 to 3 months. As one person, I mix all my colors, and wash everything on cold (20-30°C). No fading, and my clothes and towels come out perfectly. Then, I skip the dryer, and hang them on an indoor rack with a dehumidifier nearby. Cold wash + not using my dryer saves so much electricity, and reduces my CO2 emissions. Right now, there is a mild drought in my area, no significant rain for a month, and extreme climate will be more common in the future because of warmer air from CO2. Once the world switches to 100% renewable, hopefully ethical energy, maybe then I'll consider to wash my towels on hot.

      @@thatguyalex2835 Great that it works for you. Our laundry doesn’t smell good if washed at low temperatures. I use 30 for darks and coloureds, 40 for whites and then towels and sheets on 60 for hygienic purposes. We do dry everything but towels naturally though this time of year, and try to hang things on the airer when we can in winter. However we prefer our towles fluffy so it’s worth the slight amount of energy the heat pump dryer uses - which is actually less per hour than our dehumidifier.

      @@thatguyalex2835Never use water temperatures below 40... that's what causes all the scum, dirt and bacteria to develop inside the washing machine and then transfer onto your washing... Clothes always on 40-50°C, bedding on 50-60°C and towels always at 95°C. I couldn't bring myself to use bedding or towels washed in temperatures lower than 60 degrees, which are not getting sanitised properly... Imagine that you wash your socks and then your towels. All the bacteria accumulates in the outer and inner drum and when you wash again, they get transferred to your towels...

    Fantastic machine there - very much looking forward to more videos, and finally, Siemens allowing IntensivePlus..
    No hygiene wash though.. not even in App? That’s a shame. They used to. I guess make room for auto seeing as it has Idos which personally I’m not fan. But we’ll see how it performs for you :)

      Thanks for your comment! Have been so busy lately but hoping to film and upload a bit more. I was initially worried about the lack of Hygiene, but it does maintain the temp at 60 for a long time and let’s you add up to 3 rinses in the app so you can get the equivalent with the options. I’m getting on with iDos better than I expected - but I do stick to one brand of liquid and softener at a time. And the manual dosing compartment is nice and big for a decent dose of powder, whereas on that Samsung I had a couple years ago the manual compartment was very small. Plenty of videos to come, stay tuned :)

    interesting machine. certainly looks better in real life than it does in the photos. is it just me or does the motor sound different to previous generations? either way, i quite like the sound. wonder what it'll be like with clothes. i noticed you say it's more fussy than last generation. makes me think i won't be a huge fan of it, but i'll wait until i see it in a video until i make a proper judgement on that...

    • @TheWashHouse
      @TheWashHouse  Год назад

      Thanks! The motor does sound different - to me it sounds similar to the 1800rpm serie iq machines form the early-mid 2000s. Balancing isn’t too bad, it’s more sensitive than the previous iq700 but still not as sensitive as the Miele - I’d say in the same level as a modern AEG/Zanussi. It doesn’t let so many unbalanced loads through so it should be kinder to the suspension, and the new spin rhythm which redistributes after each burst for heavier loads prevents creasing and aids in balancing too. I also need to level it properly as that can affect the 3G vibration sensor - the floor is tricky in our utility to level on. Plenty more videos to come for you to look forward to 😊

    How is at rinses? My HomeProfessional used almost no water if sud was detected during intermediate spin, the 4D System was on just on the first minutes of the cycle and sometimes after the machine reached the temperature. Also if sud was detected after prewash, it would reach about 40°C even if was selected 90°C.
    I was so pissed off and disappointed as the previous top of range were totally different (better), but I liked it aesthetically so much.

    Please, I need some advice. I managed to snag a Miele WWI 860 WPS on sale, it was less than 1200 euros, but it was an impulse buy, and I thought the offer was too good to pass up, but after researching the model in-depth on youtube I am not impressed. I don't like the way the Miele appears to be washing. It uses way too little water and I'm afraid that will wear the clothes at a faster rate. I looked at some Bosch series 8's cycles and the 4d wash appears to use a lot more water and the rinsing seems to be superior as well. Bosch also has extended 5 year warranty on some models up untill 15th of june over here while Miele is the default 2 years.
    Should I cancel the Miele and get a Bosch series 8? I am having serious second thoughts. Also I would never bother with the TwinDos on the Miele due to them being so glitchy and leaking issues and I would get a Bosch without i-dos. I really don't know what to do, and any help is appreciated.

    • @TheWashHouse
      @TheWashHouse  Год назад +3

      Both the Miele and Bosch machines have their pros and cons. I personally find the programming more flexible on the Siemens especially if you want shorter run times, as the express and Powerwash cycles on Miele are rather lacklustre when it comes to rinsing and spinning. However if you only ever use longer cycles, then the Miele cottons wash is 2.29-2.39 with default options on a full load, whereas BSH cottons with a full load is over 3 hours. You can bypass the Powerwash Spin&Spray rhythm on the Miele machines using gentle action or water plus if that’s your only concern. I do find the BSH machines do rinse and spin much better too, 42% residual moisture for 1600 rather than 50% on Miele cottons (only the eco cycle on the Miele gets 44%). Towels are always softer when done in the Siemens compared to the Miele or any other of the modern machines in my collection. I’d still be happy with either machine as my only machine though. I think at the end of the day it’s down to the deal that you can get at the time.
