Good advice Matthew as some people don’t get in a Regular routine of doing water changes and because most people over feed causing their nitrates & phosphates to stay elevated.
just be aware new reefers, a water change won’t lower your high phosphates especially when it’s coming from other sources such as detritus on rocks or over feedings etc. you’ll beed to fix those first before expecting to decrease your PO4 significantly
Great question... you still clean the sandbed, just a small portion at a time. Maybe do 1/4 to 1/5 every water change... That way you don't disrupt everything and keep it localized.
Great question. Science, education, beauty, marine biology, chemistry, commitment, climate change, and it's an awesome hobby! And if you are like me... it can turn into a career! -Matthew

How do you clean the sand bed then if not while doing water changes?

Water change requires work. Can this be solved with AI?
Ha! Maybe... Any thoughts? I know you can automate it at least using a neptune apex and dos pump... Does that count? :-)
