I compare these to the small Senreve bags, but for 1/2 the price. They carry by hand like those and are a similar size. I like these more for their old world quality and rich details. The florentine leather though is too easy to scratch, and they don't rub out that easily - I tried with my logo lock hobo in florentine. Now these are my scratches, made easily with the slightest fingernail graze, but I still have to deal with the problem. The Amelie, which I really like, is the only florentine style I would ever bother to get again because of this sensitive leather. I hope you get the navy!

Apple brand conditioner will help remove the scratches. My black Florentine arrived that way and I conditioned it and buffed out the scratches. The thing is, they don’t always arrive baby smooth from Dooney. I’ve had an over textured Florentine arrive. The rest have minimal texture but if you get a super smooth one it’s great. I would keep it

I was going to purchase it in red but then your review made me realize it’s bigger than I want and the non detachable strap was a deal breaker for me. 😩 thanks for saving me a couple hundred bucks! The search for a red bag continues….

This is the bag I kept in chestnut...so cute called Small Amelie Tote. The clasp is called a Logo Lock. I believe the Amelie comes in 4 versions. 1 size smaller called mini, 1 size bigger called Large Shoulder Amelie has two thick rolled shoulder straps and no adjustments. I returned cuz wouldn't stay on my shoulder. 2 sizes bigger version called Large Amelie satchel and I think the only version with removable crossbody strap with dog leash clasps. I've used my fingers and micro cloths to get scratches off of an Outlet purchased scratched bag. If I get very deep discount I will attempt to get scratches out. I massage the bag while watching TV if it's badly scratched and usually buffs out. TFS

Beautiful! I just got my Amelia in the mail today from Dooney and mine is also scratched. I agree, the bags should come to the buyer without scratches. I am going to reorder in a diff color and send this one back.

Yes, girl!!! I think they must be horrible at describing lots of things. I was looking at a fragrance sampler, and the description said you were getting .50 oz. of each fragrance (which is nice!), but the box pictured showed you get .05 oz!!! VERY different lol. So sorry you had a bad experience with Belk shipping and quality assurance. The buffing helps but for deep scratches its hard to see a difference. Thanks for mentioning my channel.
I know a lot of women love the florentine leather. The look, the smell, etc. But for me, I know I would not enjoy what they call patina. I like patina on my antique furniture, not on my clothes or bags. I'm glad Dooney offers most of their bags in leathers that do not scratch, but I wish they would offer ALL of them in sturdy, non scratch leather!
