  • Every once in a while, someone asks me what to do to improve after they're sub 20. That's what this video is all about. In this video, I will teach you about the biggest mistakes that people still make when they are sub 20, and how to fix them. So when people say "I'm finally sub 20!! Now What?" They will now have an answer. This video is for CFOP users, but the information can apply to other methods as well.

I would say that f2l efficiency is more important than lookahead at sub 20 but that doesnt mean that you shouldnt practise it at all bcuz you are gonna get rekt in the future.
Here is what i consider most important in beyond sub 20 cfop:
    1)F2L efficiency
2)Lookahead (both in cross and f2l)
    3) 2-look OLL (maybe even full oll) and full pll
4)Cross execution without looking at it for better lookahead
    5)AUF

  • @nabranestwistypuzzler7019

3:50 Why would you do 3(sexy)? You can just do R2 U R2 U’ R2, which is the Cuboid insertion alg because you’re moving the corner down into the back on the bottom with an R2, doing the U to move the cross edge & other corner over, undoing the R2 to bring it back and pair up the bar in the bottom, moving it back with a U’, and putting the bar back into the bottom with another R2. However, this flips the middle bar, so just cancel into a 3(R2 U2), but get rid of the U2 at the end of the 3rd time because it’s just an AUF, so it’s rally just Sune with R2s instead of Rs & R’s, which is why it’s called Supersune: R2 U R2 U R2 U2 R2. Also, if the corner is a U2 away from being directly above the slot, you can do super antisune, so the inverse: R2 U2 R2 U’ R2 U’ R2.

"Another is this case right here"
Me: "Wait, what case, where's the pair he's talking about? I don't even see it!" Rewind, pause, rewind again. Look at the colors. oh...

in the solve you showed memyselfandpi wasnt even looking ahead he was just slowing down and pausing, the reason he paused is because of his lack of look ahead

I know full oll and have like advanced finger tricks. And also all 42 intuitive f2l algs.
Still my avg is 22 and pb is 14.

Can u tell me how fast ur cross, f2l, oll, and pll is? Because I don’t know full oll, just full pll and I average 13 seconds with a pb of 9.16. I also use intuitive f2l with like 5 Algs. So ur doing something wrong.

I avg 22 and being able to see my next f2l pair is the difference between a 18 second solve and a 26 second solve lol

Are people really getting to sub-20 without learning advanced F2L?
Pretty sure I already knew all of these algs when I was averaging sub-30.

You said look ahead isn’t necessary until 16-17 but that’s where I’m trying to get

I know full oll, have decent finger tricks, and I'm pretty sure I use efficient f2l's. I'm not sub-20, though. I can get sub-20 solves fairly easily, but my average is around 20.1. I feel like I should look ahead, on solves I get that are around 24 seconds, I notice that I spend a lot of time pausing, when I turn fast.

I know full oll full pll and full coll as well as a few zblls and I've made sure that all of my f2l is as efficient as possible yet I'm still averaging 23 seconds(also i use good fingertricks) what can I do to improve?

Memyselfandpie is using old mechanism cube, and i dont think when in that year many cuber can use modern fingertrick like push index finger.
Because with that old cube it is very very hard to turn, if we loosen the tension it will very uncontrollable, and when we tighten it then its hard to turn.
I start cubing around that year too, so i know exactly how painful is that old cube feel to do fingertrick.
(Sorry bad english, hope you understand what i say :)

Also, know how to do the triple sexy move in the back. I mess up on it, and it slows my solves down by a lot. However. I’m working on it.

I loved the video! Very helpful altough I knew all the f2l effecient cases, I just sometimes stop and don't find the pieces which I need to pair, And a bad habit of mine which I cant get over is that I do random moves when I dont see anything. Any tips? I average 18-22 seconds and my pb is 12.1
