You should do critiques of people's older tattoos sometime like tattoos that are 10 or 20 years old. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on how far tattoo styles and techniques have come.
i'm making my 70 year old mom stretch skin while I tattoo with my non dominant hand, maybe time to open myself up to embarrassment and send. the orange tattood "poop balls" was me, sorry for spamming
@PonyLawson I fully respect your Art, Skill, Hardwork and Passion. Is it ok to say I don't think you need the Money but could use a little more fame. I Wish to dedicate my skin to your hands. Obviously I'm financially broke and no money is worth your time. Imagine a whole Jacket of Modern day of Revolution, Violence against Pedos, Violence, Violence and more Violence. Not horror but Pigs and Pope on knees eating Justice. ❤ The tattoo name is High Treason and Terrorist Threats. Imagine how famous you would be with the greatest tattoo. ❤😅
Those "Cut Here" tattoos were popular amongst Scottish gang members and hard men. The makers of GTA are from Scotland so are familiar with these tattoos.
Hi, Pony! :) I’m the „good job, guy“ guy, who knows what he’s doing, with the eye on the chest. The chest with the neck were done in 4 sessions (6-8 hours) by the amazing Sandra Daukshta from Latvia, who is a tattoo witch for many years already. The feathers were from the beginning a part of the idea, since I love ravens. The shape itself is inspired by bio mechanics, which explains the symmetry. :) The arms were done by another amazing artist and friend Walter Montero, who has developed an incomparable style over years. :) By the way, it healed perfect. I was glad to see myself in your video. Thank you for sharing. 🖤
It was excellent work and I really loved the black and red. I’d love you to send your arm tat’s into Pony so we could see them too. Glad to see you planning your ideas and going to good artists. You will never regret that way.
Your work is awesome - your artists really know what they're doing! I actually love the feathers. Kind of reminds of illustrations of "Biblically accurate angels."
the face tattoo at 8:05 has one massive advantage. it seriously messes with any facial recognition software out there. the problem: a tattoo recognition software makes him as unique as possible.
03:22 completely correct about white tattoos! my buddy's decade old white tattoo is practically invisible now and mostly looks like a bad burn scar, she also had the "advantage" of having a darker skin tone
OMFG, the "cut here" line got me. My first tattoo experience was getting talked out of getting that tattoo on my wrist. Never got a chance to thank the dude. If he's still out there, I guess I hope he reads this.
I loved the tattoo of the woman’s face with honey on it, had me tricked for a second thinking it was on someone’s face which would have been an odd choice lol, and I really liked the man’s torso piece with the big eye, and lastly I didn’t mind the face that was having the white on it except I’d have liked the face a bit bigger and the border a bit smaller. All artist’s did excellent work.
Honey is actually used in wound healing due to its antibacterial properties and a unique pH balance that promotes oxygen and healing compounds. Love the channel and your wit!!
Now, I'm absolutely not a tattoo artist, BUT Honey IS a disinfectant. In ye olden times, it was often used on wounds to help them heal, so it might not actually be bad on a tattoo? (and at any rate, probably better then spit :P )
It was used, and it can be affective, but it can also cause infection. The honey currently used by physicians is purchased specifically for medical reasons, and has been sterilized to decrease the risk of infection from rubbing mostly sugar on a wound. Even honey straight from the hive would be better than spit lmao
This was the comment I was looking for! One famous account of using honey was when Prince Henry of Wales took an arrow in the *face* in 1403. The deep wound was treated with a honey-based ointment first before removing the arrowhead (the surgeon had to buy some time to invent a special tool for the removal) and afterwards also during the entire healing process. The prince survived and became Henry V.
It's not a disinfectant, but it is broadly antimicrobial (antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and antimycobacterial). Another antimicrobial food item is vinegar. I like to dilute some vinegar and soak my fruits and veg in it, it gives me a little peace of mind.
I hope someone mentioned that the "thing" in the cobra's mouth is called the epiglottis. It's a type of breathing tube that the snake uses to breathe while it's swallowing its prey. NYK
Yeah, but they made the breathing hole way too small on the epiglottis and also created a separate "head" portion on it, so it really does look like a wiener instead
Sanitation is why you always go check out the shop before you commit to getting work done. If they are willing to skimp on the barriers, gloves, etc what else are they skimping on.
@Pony Lawson 10.42 "veni vidi vici" is Latin for "I came, I saw, I won". It's a (much abused) quote from Julius Caesar; apparently this is the message he sent to Rome after conquering a city in what is now Turkey 🤓
This reminds me of that one dude I used to know who got a machine and tattooed not only himself, but also underage people... Looked as expected. There's a reason why serious artists won't tattoo underage people. Also, a cheap tattoo will most likely be a bad tattoo.
I got my first with 16 on the shoulder blade, already placed in a way that it would become a foundation for the big shoulder/back piece I got with 22. Drew the design the first time with 13, and mom paid for it after I still wanted it with 16. Now 20 years later I still love it and am thinking about getting it touched up, the highlights faded and I have keratosis pilaris which put a few blotches on the shoulders that weren't there.
The dragon tiger back piece, looks like he went for the first session for a yakuza inspired tat, then either realized the artist was oof, ran out of money, or decided it hurt too much to keep going. But that's just a guess
Im all here for the sass, Pony!!!🖤🖤 I love that morons are constantly immotalizing their awful decisions on the internet for the world to see and NEVER forget😝🤣😆. The addition of their "hardcore" attitude just makes it more hilarious, they really think they're impressing people!!!😝🤣😆😂
Yeah, just make sure you get it from a medical provider, as simple store-bought stuff, especially unpasteurized honey can contain a host of possibly harmful microbes
I definitely respect your opinions don't act like you don't have a bunch of crappy tattoos also saying you wouldn't have a bunch of these tattoos and you'd be ashamed
My tattoo artist does white tattoos and she has done her own ankles in white and it looks amazing, even after years. Of course it doesn’t look like it did fresh, but she’s pale and it aged so well. What you can’t expect is a white white tattoo, but if you like something really subtle and love seeing how it’ll turn out, I’d go for it. Just be prepared for it to look more like a mix of white and your skintone or fine scarring, not snowy-dewey whatever. And it’ll probably fade a good deal faster than most other colours.
Hiya. I've just found your channel and was amazed that, unlike most tattooists on here, you don't crap on 90's tattoos. I don't know what they have against them, as being fifty I got most of my tattoos before most of these RUclips tattooists were born! 😂Also, I can totally confirm what you said about white tattoos. After 25 - 30 years all of the white, and most of the yellow have faded from my tattoos, so they will be lucky if there's anything left come, say 15 years, which is ok I suppose if you only want a temporary tattoo...
I don't know how to feel about the "veni, vidi, vici" or "I came, I saw, I conquered" tattoo. Historically, super cool. Supposedly, Julius Caesar had it put on a placard and paraded through the streets after one of his military wins. Usually, they would put on a show to regale the people of Rome with their mighty conquests. Simply doing this though is thought by some to show how quick and inconsequential it was. Like "yeah, whatever. I came, I saw, I conquered and I moved the fuck on, because they were so weak it meant very little to me." Love historical tattoos. Tons of meaning. Not sure this guy really appreciates all that meaning. I think he just thought it sounded badass and made him seem "wise." Maybe I'm totally off base.
My swim coach has a decent tattoo on his hip. He’s a professional swimmer. It’s a tattoo of the Kenyon College seal. Supposedly it’s a common tradition for their swimmers to get that tattooed.
That first guy is Russian. I didn't get what he said, but I definitely understood a "blyad" in there, which is a curse word. BTW, honey has antiseptic properties, so while not the best thing to put over a fresh tattoo, is also not the worst.
Wait, so a white tattoo could end up doing a similar effect as a scarification? Because I live in Cuba and they don't make scarifications here, but I could get a white tattoo if in 6 months could potentially look the same as a scar
My first tattoo I got was a white ink tattoo. The artist advised against it for the reasons I wanted it (i.e. fades easily, not noticeable, etc). I don't regret it and honestly forget it is there half the time, I got it like 8 years ago or so and is definitely faded. I unfortunately have had a lot of (not-tatto related) tumors and skin tags pop up in that area due to a genetic disorder which makes it harder to see, but that isn't the tattooers fault. Yay horrible genetics.
11:04 i think its supposed to be a tiger fighting a dragon, but because the outline on the dragon doesnt look solid or finished, the head looks smaller than it actually is. You have to really look closely to see the size.

When there are bushfires in Australia, the vets use manuka honey on the burned animals. It seems to work better at healing than modern medicines.

Honey is AWESOME on wounds! Not many people seem to know about natural medicine anymore, so I don't hold it against Pony that he didn't know

Veni, vidi, vici - "I came, I saw, I conquered."
Manuka honey would be the absolute best to put on fresh tattoos considering its antimicrobial properties.
My first tattoo I got was a white ink tattoo. The artist advised against it for the reasons I wanted it (i.e. fades easily, not noticeable, etc). Veni, vidi, vici means: I came, I saw, I Conquered. -Caesar
I've only seen a few white ink tattoos, and most look great many years later. One friend has darker skin, and it basically disappeared though.
Really faded more on darker skin? I thought white in would really pop on black skin?
There is a layer of skin that heals over the ink so it will cover/tint the white rather than it popping
