    Morning Michele x My last 2 paintings I have stretched, as u have taught us...there was no cockling-buckling at all and made it so much easier to paint and get a flat even result every time. Thank u so much for all your tips....I had worked out most of these mistakes myself but I wouldn't have been able to explain to anyone how I did it correctly. Enjoy your day, its a chilly one here in Stowmarket today and probably with u as u r not far away from me x Hi and cuddles to Gimlet, I think thats how u spell your kittykats name x love Alli and Bella XXXX

    Have you done a video on layering? I have a problem, for instance, on a flower when you want to have layers light to dark. I've been told to let the layers dry in between, but then I'm getting the hard edge I don't want. If you've done a video on this, if you could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  10 месяцев назад

      I have a video on Glazing, I can't put links here but the search video will find it for you. Some of the step by step playlist videos may help too. Yes you should let the layers dry, but the trick is to wet the whole area/petal. If you only put the second layer on part then you get a hard edge. So if for example you wanted to put a second colour on half of a large petal you wet the whole petal with clean water, then only put the colour on half.

    • @poppyhali3648

    I'm curious, I recently had the misfortune of buying Canson XL paper and discovering blooms and blotches and backwashes like I have never seen!😮
    Is there a trick to working on paper that isn't cotton?
    So then I bought Baohung artists grade, fine paper 100 percent cotton, it works better but it's very rough and thirsty, I put water 💦 and water 💦 I've never seen anything like this, any suggestions for that also? 😂
    The Arches paper is over a hundred for like 15 sheets, so I'm looking for something I can afford, I've already gone smaller and smaller which feels constricting, at this rate I'll soon be painting on a postage stamp.😂 I prefer 16 by 20 or 11 by 14, now I'm down to 5 by 7.

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  11 месяцев назад +1

      I find Arches takes too much water for my liking. I have a background of demonstrating for manufacturers and often use woodpulp paper on youtube. Two things will make cheap paper easier to use. 1. Stretch it. 2. Don't scrub things out or use too many layers, it generally behaves if you don't 'work' it too much. My favourite papers are Saunders Waterford and Fabriano Artistico. In the UK it's cheaper to buy full sheets and cut it down, rather than a pad, but I'm told it's not the case in all countries.
