It helps to put the side down with the extra fabric (same with quilting) the feed dogs will help distribute the fabric.

Love this tip. Because of the curves, is the side panel cut on the bias?

Would it matter to sew a reinforcement stitch on the curves before clipping? Similar to garment sewing, when reinforcing curved seams?

What would you suggest for sewing vinyl/faux leather on the thicker side ? I am working on some triangular bags and the curves are just not perfect :( Thanks for any help or suggestions

While this is helpful small segments are easy to handle, however, I would have liked to see the entire piece sewn together.
