Awesome!! Super helpful!! Did it correctly the 1st time. Btw.. great job on the video! Clear, concise, simple instructions. Excellent narration! Thank you for posting! Much appreciated!!
Works perfectly with all my low-end Harbor Freight ratchet straps. All 24 of them.
Lol
I like the other approach that is similar but uses the ratchet to secure - very tightly I might say - the entire assembly. Thanks for posting
Works great, my fixed part of the strap with the hook didn't was too short to do the hook the way you did it , but I was able to tuck it under the coil, worked fine.
Nice!
PERFECT!!!! Thank you
Brilliant!! I don't like messy straps and this is so great. Thank you for posting and making it a clear, easy to understand video.
Me too. It really doesn’t take that much effort to do, and it’s nice to have it neat and ready for use.
Didn't work quite as well with a home depot strap, but I like the technique.
Thanks very much!! The instructions were very clear and helpful.
Glad it helped!
2 thumbs up for folding the strap in half before rolling. Every time I watch one of those "store your straps" videos and the guy starts rolling 15' of strap from the very end, it makes me want to scream "Fold it in half first!"
BTW - it's not critical to fold exactly in half - you just want the tail half to be shorter than the half coming from the ratchet, so that you don't have extra tail hanging out when you're done rolling.
For sure. When I really want to save some time, I fold it in half twice! 🤣
People, this will work with every strap with a small tweak! If your short end is too short, you can adjust the lead the long end sticks out before rolling by leaving more (or less) strap between the ratchet and hook before you roll. (You can easily shorten after you roll by using the ratchet mechanism.) Roll it up and place it on top like he does but slide the long hook into the eye of the short hook. Rotate the short hook 90° to tighten. You may have to try different leads before it will work. This is how I did mine, which have short "short ends." Works perfectly.
Great tip, thanks!
can you make a video of this trick please
tried to show and teach the same .. You do it way better. !! Clear and concise.
Life changer. Thanks!!
Glad it helped!!
Thanks! Really good method for storage and make them ready-to-use!
Thank you so much.
Very nice. Thank you for your time and effort!
You bet!
Amazing. Thanks for
Did not work with mine. Concept okay but key is the correct length of short stationary to the distance around the roll and ratchet.
Sometimes you have to rotate the short hook, attached to the ratchet, until you have the right length. That’s how I got my Husky straps to work. Now I have 4 nice looking straps, ready for work. Hope it works for you, too! Thanks for the video, I was lost without it. Use mine on my trailer, to tie down my mower, etc, & the biggest pain in the butt, was the straps. Now, everything fine!
Exactly. The short fixed strap has to be the right length. I bought two of the same ratchet straps from harbor freight that had two different length short straps. One was perfect and the other too short. I was able to make it work on the short one by using the adjustable side of the strap.
I know this is two years old but what the hell. I fed the short strap hook (stationary, as you called it) under the handle instead of over, in the same direction as in the video, and attached it to the bottom of the long strap hook (the bottom of the S where the long strap is attached to.) Worked a treat. You can twist the stationary hook a few times if you need to make it a bit shorter to provide more tension.
Thank you!!!!!
Outstanding thank you!
Very welcome!
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Awesome thank you!! ❤️
You are so welcome!
Thanks
Welcome!
Well done.
Thank you!
The brand that I have (Husky) has a rubber pad on the base of the ratchet, so I can't insert the hook at the end the way he describes.. I have to insert it through strap elsewhere.
i have husky and can do it the way he does
Yeh, it really depends on the length of the standing strap, for sure.
Mine is the cheaper variety also and I already have had issues with the short end being too short.
I've tried several different techniques for rolling straps on youtube and all are done with the better quality straps.
Obviously no technique works with the cheaper straps with shorter standing ends.
Oh well, back to my old method of storing each strap in a sock.
Keeps it neat and doesn't require all that rolling or twisted strap when unrolling for use.
Awesome. Only works with short straps though
Yup. Thank you for watching and commenting.
MY HF short strap too long. But thanks, Froggy
This is the way
Thank you!
Cut the webbing off and use as Christmas gift box ribbon , then take the remains to the nearest trash container .
😂🤣
👍
For people that can’t get it through the handle just get some thick rubber bands and there you go lol
Rubber bands tend to age and get brittle. I personally don't like them.
Didn't work for me either.
There must be 60 ways to store these things, and 59 better ways. I own dozens of straps, and they are all different. The differences would make your idea useless.
dont work with all straps
Finally, a way that stores it so it can be used right away correctly, vs the Swedish Homestead method
Yes indeed!
And when you are going to use the strap again, you have to thread through the whole strap before you can tie your new load ..Not good
Bruh, that takes 10 seconds
@@defenestrated23lmao yea I read his comment and was in disbelief how lazy it was
Way to much work just to make it pretty not to mention the wasted time pulling it back and fourth. Much simpler using the figure 8 method which still maintains a hook for hanging and a simple tug at the end Frees it for instant use
Do you have a link to the figure 8 method to try?
All ratchet straps ain't the same that is the hard way and the complicated way done it all registrants ain't the same I am there is easier ways of doing it apple with ratchet straps all day at my job
I am not smart enough to get this right
No there’s a better way to do it
Can you share your method?
The worst way ever
Is it the worst way ever?
Didn't work quite as well with a home depot strap, but I like the technique.
