      I 100% agree! Honestly I think grandma helped cause this situation. When you hear Cathy say "I never threw him out", you can hear grandma yelling in his defense. Absolutely wild.
      Grandma was undermining her authority as a parent and I can only imagine what the conversation between her and Colin was like on her way to drop him off. They were both probably trashing Cathy, which probably gave Colin some "permission" in his mind to do what he did.
      The way grandma described her on the stand, I literally expected to hear a completely unstable addict. Instead, I'm hearing a responsible, if not fed up, mother who is frustrated with her own mother.
      There's something seriously wrong with grandma, not Cathy. I imagine I'd be using drugs and alcohol if she raised me, too.

    • @Belleblaas73
      @Belleblaas73 День назад

      @@MissSpazThis is scary. They all have control issues. Cathy made the huge mistake for not letting Collin stay with grandma. A powertrip about car will be taken away? Blackmail: I will call police (again). Why did Cathy want Collin back? Knowing what he said multiple times and knowing what he did to dad? All about control. Very sad. Because they seemed happy first year. Did Cathy help him succeed 4 degrees higher school? And paying car? And then the last few months absolute horror. For both. My son was also difficult age 15 17. And always screamed: " if you don't like my rules, you can leave. See if you can get it better somewhere else". Nothing like Collin. I just don't understand Cathy wanting Collin back. I would have been scared of Collin. Imagine now, future, Collin having a lover and difficulties relationship, he is gonna kill again. Collin is a manipulator. But Cathy was that as well. Controlfreaks.

    Sometimes you speak about things you know NOTHING about. I had a brother and sister-in-law who were both addicted to drugs. When they were on a high and were abusive to each other, I didn’t get involved. But when it came to their sons who where both toddlers I came unhinged! But, I was no match for his wife when she was high. She weighed about a hundred pounds. BUT, She was stronger and meaner than a mad elephant mama. There is no controlling them and you are lucky to get away. I never went over to get the boys without 3 or 4 of my older brothers with me to hold them down!! She would go wild with anger and pick up anything within reach to try to kill me before I could get out of the house with the children. Once she was clean you couldn’t ask for a nicer person. However, those were short lived moments. Eventually her drug dealer killed her and the children lived with my mother until they graduated from high school.

Guess she thought her son wouldn't go through with it. We as parents don't believe our own child could/would hurt us & that it was said in anger/ frustration. I know what its like, my son told me to my face the exact same words almost 10yrs ago. I’m sorry but you can’t judge someone by an angry conversation, very extremely few ppl don’t actually yell when having an argument. We don’t know how often this happened, how often they argued or how often her mom overstepped boundaries and felt as though the mother’s wishes didn’t matter. We don’t know the relationship between mother and daughter,if the mom always discounted the daughters feelings wants or opinions. She obviously loved her mom and son by the calmer way she was talking about the situation and telling her mom she loved her bye.
    I think ppl encouraged the son’s disrespect for the mother by not respecting her themselves and just reinforcing his belligerent attitude towards her.
    Yes her mental health was probably a factor, but for him to kill both of his parents shows he’s got homicidal tendencies .
    I’d say closer to psychopathic, he’s been smiling and smirking , he doesn’t really have guilt. When he cries it’s more about him than him murdering his mom, he feels justified. I think his grandmother will always make excuses for his behavior, I think if he wanted to he’d kill again w/o thought. Anger seems to be his problem solving skill in any situation he doesn’t agree with.
