  • Hello again from my little hippie camper van! Do you ever struggle with the fear off missing something out? Like for some reason it could change your life or missing it means you're not making the most of the time you have? It's what I'm currently struggling most with!

I went travelling to Australia and had the same fears. It wasnt until I got home that I realised it wasnt about seeing everything, because you can't... but just seeing one, two, three things in a particular area was enough if I got to soak up the views/atmosphere etc properly, instead of rushing on to the next and the next. Like D Reeves has said, its almost trying to be mindful and "present" that helps... easier said than done I know! Try and concentrate on all the things you HAVE seen. And enjoy xx

You remind me so much of myself as your mind seems to be concerned more on the things you've missed rather than the things you've seen. It's not surprising because an anxious mind will do this, it's not your fault or under much of your control. I wrote a lengthy comment on your blog "Anxiety Never Leaves Me Alone For Long" because i'm the same and found out that it's our minds doing this that's the problem and has nothing to do with what we're worrying about, the content is irrelevant. We need to step back from it and recognise it when its happening and not to feed it when its happening but not to push it away either. We need to just observe it as it's happening and concentrate on the present moment instead of being caught up in our thoughts and emotions. This has real science behind it from brain scans that shows this can boost the healthy areas of the brain whilst at the same time reduce the overactive anxious parts. I hope you enjoy your trip and come back nice and relaxed, or less anxious anyway! :) x
