I was a child in the seventies. It is so important for younger people to understand and not judge older generations. This magazine shows a life we were presented by the media. Today, the media presents a completely different world view. Sewing and buying patterns, being tan and fruit smelling hair, collecting items for your hope chest, an article about George Washington in a teen magazine. Different planet. At times today's world messes with the reality I was presented as a child. Anyway, thanks for presenting this beautiful flip through' Really nice. Your message about grace was top notch. Coming from a 24 year old, I completely agree! It's important to be understanding and realise that your parents and grandparents grew up in a different world than you did. Tbh even I feel this way sometimes. I was raised by Baby Boomer parents in a small town in France, and now that I've moved around a bit and made American and British friends, I've noticed very stark differences in our upbringing. Not sure if you've tried this diet before, but many with Crohn's disease have had great relief doing this particular diet. Some people on the diet can incorporate some dairy like cheese. I was born in December of 1980, I remember a lot of movies and tv shows from the 70s because they were reruns, I was fascinated by the fashion and overall aesthetics from that era. I loved when I went to a house and they had 70s deco and kitchenware. Whenever I find household items from the 70s at thrift shops I love to look at it and if I can justify it, I purchase it. It's a privilege to have someone flipping through magazines and giving us details of the ads and pictures, besides the calm pace and soft voice makes the experience so much better. Thank you.
Jeannie, I feel like the Lord was speaking directly to me through you this evening when you spoke about showing grace, even when it’s undeserved. I’ve never felt so strongly a message was meant specifically for me to hear. Thank you. ❤
Love that, Emily. And trust me - it's what I, myself, need to hear! I'm glad it touched something within you. We all need to work toward showing (and accepting) more grace! XOXO Hugs!
It’s so nice watching people look and talk about vintage things. This warms my heart! Even though I was born in the 2000’s, I have always been an old soul. I love these videos so much! Thank you so much Jeannie! 🤍🤍🤍🤍

My mom graduated HS in 1975 so it’s fascinating to see what girls her age were into at the time. I was born in 78 so it’s also interesting to see the fashion and topics that were popular in the late 70s. Seventeen was one of my favorite magazines to read when I was a teen in the 90s. Thank you Jeannie, I really enjoyed this video ❤

You are definitely my kind of gal, Jeannie... I love your channel. I am a 1956 gal myself and loved leafing through the memories with you, as the 70s were my best years! I love also that you use the word 'Grace'... it's so powerful and it's my special word too. My daughter is even named Anna Grace and her daughter is Evelyn Grace xxx Looking forward to more of your loveliness xxx
I thought it was really interesting to learn about the trends of the 70s. I never heard about a marriage trunk. I'd love to hear more about 70s trends! Great video 🥰
I’m 34 and never really had parents. But sitting here, listening to Jeannie is comforting in a way that I imagine it must feel like to sit with your mother and spend time with her. Just feels very warm in a way I’ve never experienced that I feel this must be what that’s like ❤
Loved this! I'm 31, but I've had an obsession with the 1970s since I was little. I think it started from watching the brady bunch and threes company as a kid. My apartment is 80% late 60s/70s decor. My entire wardrobe is 1970s which makes me stick out and i get called a hippie sometimes, but I just love everything 70s. Really enjoyed this video and your relaxing voice! You got a sub from me!
I'm 40 and my mom was born in 1958. I always wished she had saved things like this. I have some magazines and things saved for my future kids. Flipping through old magazines and newspapers are like stepping into the past
You are just the most comforting, adorable friend that I didn’t know that I need! Thanks for all of your calming amazing video content. Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy holiday! I can’t wait to hear how the big reveal about your channel goes with your kids!
I loved walking through these magazines. I was a baby in 74 but I remember my mom having one of those light up mirrors. She also plucked her eyebrows really thin in the 70s. She advised me not to do that because they wouldn’t grow back. I didn’t listen and she was right. I plucked too much in the 90s. I’d kill to have my thick eyebrows back. Mom knows best! ❤
I have to say these magazines flip-thru‘s are awesome. In combination with your soothing voice (you should do audiobooks) it is perfect for unwinding at night. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 ❤
i feel that we are slowly seeping back into the fashion of the 70s, 80s, and 90s without even noticing! a lot of this stuff looks very relevant and trendy now
Hi Jeannie! My name is Olivia. Your question about the gimbal is great because my partner is a videographer, so I asked him to help guide you with your model! This is what he says: Firstly, the motors are axis based. Bottom-up, from the base of the gimbal to the top, the motors are panned (base motor, side to side), roll (back motor), and tilt (top motor). To balance your camera on it, you'll want to go motor by motor, one motor at a time, if you haven't done so already. For your gimbal model, here is the info on the buttons! - Photo/video button is the button with the line. If you press that button once, you can start & stop filming a video. If you press it twice, it'll take a photo. The M button stands for modes and you probably don't need to use it (notes below). Trigger button on the front: If you double press trigger button, it'll bring camera back to perfect center. If you want to hold the camera in position, press and hold the trigger. The joystick will let you control the camera. The light control wheel on the side will control the light on the front of the gimbal. If you press the wheel once, it'll turn the light "yellow" or "white." If you press and hold the wheel, it'll turn it on and off. If you slide the wheel up and down, it'll adjust the brightness. For the touch screen! - "Mode" allows you to control which motor(s) are free in certain modes, including Lock which locks all of the motors in place and can still be controlled by the joystick if needed. If you need help on this, please come back and ask and we can help! The next button is "balance." That will tell you if each of your motors is balanced correctly and if not, it will tell you which one. The "info" tells you info on gimbal. The bottom right button, "settings," will auto calibrate the motors for the correct weight of your camera. You'll want to do this for each new & different camera you put on it, but you only need to do it once if you use the same camera every time. For the torque, you may need to adjust for proper function of the motor. For the smoothness and follow speed settings, you don't need to worry about this, that's at a default setting. If you want to know how to adjust this faster or slower, please feel free to ask and we can walk you through it. I hope this helps! Happy to help with anything else!
6:10 "And they assume you know things" 😂😂😂 You are too cute my dear Jeannie. I love your beautiful eyes - very clear and intense - it's always so weird to me that people with those clear and healthy looking eyes can have focus or lense problems as well. My mom was born in 1960 and often told me about "Hope chests". She got me one too to fill with things I hope to have when I got married. Mine wasn't as nice as hers. She had a big, wood one like in that magazine. I kept it after she passed and I love it
I love the how earthy looking a lot of the ads are. And that they were drawn. My favorite was the Clairol artwork at the beginning and the Herbal Essences ads! I would love to see more ads with a drawn, earthy feel like that these days. I'm so thankful the Baby Soft ad is frowned upon nowadays and the feminine hygiene industry has come a long way from all the harmful scented stuff and pad belts!

Thank you.
Thank you for this lovely post!!
XOXO
Hugs!
Love your voice and love these magazines from the time of my childhood.
Thanks for listening!
really enjoyed watching this, thank you for sharing Jeannie!
Listening to your videos is like having a fantastic therapist!
Glad you enjoy it!
I love it when you do that soft, casual tapping on the magazines ❤❤ so relaxing
😊 thank you!
It’s so nice watching people look and talk about vintage things. This warms my heart! Even though I was born in the 2000’s, I have always been an old soul. I love these videos so much! Thank you so much Jeannie! 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Love that!
What they DON'T tell you is that...A "suntan" IS a burn. I used to look through these because we had them in our school library when I was in high school. 🤔😁
Thankyou for your honesty openess and being authentically you x
🥰
So glad I stumbled on her videos. She is a QUEEN.
This is fascinating! I love all things retro. I'm an 80s child myself and love history and feeling nostalgic.
i am so obsessed with your voice i can’t get enough!! great work with ur videos so tingly 🤓
Thank you so much! ☺
I feel so grateful to have found your channel. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me you are a beautiful person Jeannie 😊
I’m very glad you’re here, too, Landie! Welcome!! ♥️💜
Great video! The eating sounds during the second magazine turned out to be my favorite part of the video! An unexpected new favorite trigger! :)
You are so pretty!
I LOVE hearing stories about back in the day and I love soft spoken voices for a relaxing sleep
So this is God Sent!!!
Thank you Jesus for this wonderful lady!
Thank you so much!
@@JeannieBASMR you’re very welcome! Have a blessed day 😊
Jeannie you always look so elegant and classy and your clothes are always beautiful xxx
Aw, thank you, Ash! That is so sweet!
@Jeannie B. ASMR i hope the big reveal goes amazingly for you and i can't wait to hear all about it!!
Yes finally a mature woman doing ASMR
You haven't heard about WhispersRed?
My mom graduated HS in 1975 so it’s fascinating to see what girls her age were into at the time. I was born in 78 so it’s also interesting to see the fashion and topics that were popular in the late 70s. Seventeen was one of my favorite magazines to read when I was a teen in the 90s. Thank you Jeannie, I really enjoyed this video ❤
Yes - our generation was the coolest! Lol! 😋
i recently got a job with a hefty learning curve, and the stress has been REAL. listening to you while i work has been a lifesaver. thank you for everything you do!!! 💘💘💘
You got this! Please have faith in yourself and know that you’ll be on the other side of that curve soon!! 💕
A true delight watching you take a trip down memory lane with us. Thank you for sharing all these memories. I love hearing about all different eras and the 70’s is fascinating to me! Your voice and calm attitude is so lovely and reminds me of a family member having a casual chit chat, very comforting :)
Glad you enjoyed it, luv!
Thank you for this gentle video. Showing grace is a beautiful gift & a peaceful way to live. 🦋
Ah, I love this. Thank you for sharing!
❤️ Grace and kindness. I'm learning as I get older how important human qualities these are.
It’s a struggle sometimes. I know! (Jeannie looks in the mirror!) so I need reminding. 🥰♥️♥️♥️
@@JeannieBASMR ❤️❤️❤️
I thought it was really interesting to learn about the trends of the 70s. I never heard about a marriage trunk. I'd love to hear more about 70s trends! Great video 🥰
We called it a hope chest.
I even have one today as a young adult! My chest has expanded into boxes in the attic I've collected so much. 😂
My mom took a woodworking class in the 90’s when I was a teenager and built me a hope chest. It’s on of my favorite possessions.
I’m 34 and never really had parents. But sitting here, listening to Jeannie is comforting in a way that I imagine it must feel like to sit with your mother and spend time with her. Just feels very warm in a way I’ve never experienced that I feel this must be what that’s like ❤
Thanks for listening and for sharing this with me! I'm so glad there is comfort on this channel for you, friend! xo
I absolutely love your magazine flip-throughs! Diggin’ the groovy tunic, as the kids say! 😂🫶🏼
Thanks so much, dear Colin!! 🥰😁
Omg! I'm about to be 66 on New Years eve and this is a great blast from the past! Best wishes to you and your family! 👍❤️😁
Weren’t these great years?! Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰 and an early happy birthday! 🎉🎁🎂🎊
Thanks for sharing this, Tyler!! Sounds like you would have fit into my generation just perfectly! ;)
46 year old male, thoroughly enjoying your asmr. It feels familiar and comforting. Beautiful lady and beautiful voice. 😇
Thank you! 😊
I love this so much, I’ve always felt I would have loved being a teen in the 70’s✌🏽 thank you for this❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you, dear Stacey! This was such a lovely message to read! I appreciate it more than you can know! XOXOX
Yes! Your mom is 100% spot on!! ;)
I have to say these magazines flip-thru‘s are awesome. In combination with your soothing voice (you should do audiobooks) it is perfect for unwinding at night. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 ❤
Oh thank you! And many greetings back to you - from 🇺🇸 to 🇩🇪 !!
i feel that we are slowly seeping back into the fashion of the 70s, 80s, and 90s without even noticing! a lot of this stuff looks very relevant and trendy now
You are so funny! I think you should be on a sitcom on TV you have natural talent!❤
Funny?! What?!!! This was all meant to be dead serious! Lol! Just kidding! I’m glad you see some of the quirky humor! 🥰♥️🥰
I especially love the discreet eating sounds around 37:20 onwards. It’s so natural and not too jarring and gave me so many tingles!
🥰👍🏼
I hope daylight savings time soon. It would be amazing to experience an extra daylight hour of Autumn.
Ok - screenshotting this and printing out!! Thank you so much!!!
And hugs to your partner from me!!!
So enjoyable! That last part was amazing.. so wise ❤ Thanks Jeannie ☺️
I love these type of videos so much!! Thank You for making them, and have Happy Holidays!
Thank you! And same to you!
I LOOOVED Wella Balsam shampoo and conditioner! Kim
6:10 "And they assume you know things" 😂😂😂 You are too cute my dear Jeannie. I love your beautiful eyes - very clear and intense - it's always so weird to me that people with those clear and healthy looking eyes can have focus or lense problems as well. The sentence with your daughter made me smile as well: "I deleted her. So I think I took care of that problem for now."
Right! They assume I know things! Silly people! Lol!
Thank you for this lovely message!
Those dresses are fantastic! I can’t believe you sewed them! and your granddaughter is just precious. Love the video!
Ok, So I’m going thru something with a loved one and this what you just said is sticking with me Rn, THANK YOU for guiding me back to being Graceful even to someone who has hurt me so bad🙏🏾 Thank you💙 your channel is one of thee best!
I love that you shared this with me. Thank you so much.
I've never managed to get through this video because I keep sleeping but today I woke up from a nap to the soothing words at the end. It was wonderful.
♥️
Omg those little baby outfits are amazing!! That’s so talented i wish they did teach more about sewing because I’d love to learn 😢
Thank you. I wish I’d kept the ones from when my girls were young! 🫤
Beautiful wisdom in your closing blah blah blah. Thank you 😊
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much!
This video was just the ticket I needed to take some time off and relax. I really loved your stories, you took me out of reality for a moment! Thank you so much♥️
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much!
I love watching these magazine flip through videos because even though i’m 19, I’m obsessed with the 60s and 70s!
Glad you like them! (More coming!) 😁
Yes, we are returning to light! I keep reminding myself after the winter solstice! Love your videos!
Yes - today is the longest night...just a few more days and then they start getting lighter longer! Yay!!
Absolutely loving your AMSR review of my favorite teen magazine❤ This brings me back when i would bike ride to the local drugstore to pick up my latest Seventeen magazine! I think i used every product in these magazines. Ah, great memories😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, same kind of memories for me, too.
My mom was born in 1960 and often told me about "Hope chests". She got me one too to fill with things I hope to have when I got married. Mine wasn't as nice as hers. She had a big, wood one like in that magazine. I kept it after she passed and I love it
Yes - those chests were definitely a "thing!" They were pricey! You're lucky you got one!
Very pricey! And my grandparents were pretty low income so that chest was extra special to my mom. I’m so glad I kept it
thank u for what u said in the end. it was beautiful
I loved those Herbal Essence ads, too!
I'm so glad to hsve found your channel. Your voice is so soothing and it is great to see these old magazines, it somehow feels like travelling. This is such a wonderful idea, and so well executed. Thank you so much ❤🙏🏽
Thank you so much!
Recovering from my second cold/flu thing in three weeks with a cup of Irish breakfast tea, snuggled up with your video! ❤
Wonderful! Except for the cold/flu!! Keep drinking and rest well, my friend!!!
Love your comments at the end about having Grace and Mercy, showing forgiveness. Thank you 🙏🏼❤️
You are so welcome. I need to be reminded of this - for sure!

I love your voice and your kindness!!!!!I HOPE THAT YOUR CHANNEL BLOWS UP WITH SUCH SUCCESS!!!!!
Thank you, luv! ♥️🥰
Those "Seventeen" magazines remind me to that movie "A single man": I think it's the aesthetics
Yes!!! Spot on!
Just found you today and I am enjoying your videos as I am working from home. And I love your shirt.
Welcome!! I’m very glad to have you here! Thanks to Uncle Al (the algorithm!) for putting my channel in front of you! 😁
