@@Sebbywebz Having played it at release, it was the start of when the game was becoming "casual friendly" and t here was a marked drop in difficulty (going back now with classic everything is easy compared to some of the more complex encounters both FFXIV and WoW have to offer these days.) @@SebbywebzWas the last time I truly enjoyed WoW. Raided ICC at least a hundred times for the Arthas fight leading into Cataclysm. It was truly the end of an era.

I lived through this. My warlock is 18 RL years old this past Nov 26th. I've been through every expansion. Wrath was a great expansion, in many eyes, its the best expansion and peak WoW. There was certainly a magic to it. Though death knights were EVERYWHERE. Most think it went downhill from here. And yeah, while Cataclysm wasn't the best, Mists of Pandaria and then Legion was excellent times to be in WoW. The thing about Wrath was that the Lich King was always there, taunting you, goading you. He'd show up every now and then through quests and dungeons. You got the sense he could kill you without a thought... But he... didn't. Which left you to wonder why. In the end. There was a reason. He WANTED you to be stronger. He wanted you to come to Icecrown Citadel. He wanted you to kill his minions, prove yourself stronger beyond belief. And in that final confrontation, after toying with you for a while... He kills you and begins to raise you as his new champions. Champions that would not fail or fall. He, essentially, won. If it had just been us adventurers? We would have failed. We DID fail. But we weren't alone. Tirion was there, with Ashbringer. He smote Frostmourne, releasing all the souls, and while the Lich King was trying to recover from that, he raised us all from the dead with the Holy Light. I will always remember that. That we failed in the end. We were not all powerful, we could be overcome and defeated. We were not... invincible.
What I loved about this reaction is that it shows a bit more of Sebby's artistic sensibilities. At least that's the impression I got. This is a really great trailer, but it's not action packed. So a lot of people can't really put into words why it's so great -- but you did that, Sebby.
i have CE and they show how they made this cinematic, and its pretty impressive. Blizzard was always ahead of its time when it came to full cinematics.
The trailer alone is amazing, it was truly a testament to "Show don't tell". My first character was a human warrior and when wotlk came out i wanted to create a Death Knight so bad, the story of your Dk is extremely tragic once you leave the starting area. You go to your home city and everyone despises you and throws things at your character, it made you feel like a mockery to life itself and an abomination unfit to come back into society despite being a hero before your unholy rebirth. Wotlk will always be special to me.
I’ve never done the Death Knight story, but I heard it’s pretty great. Especially the part where you go to back to town and everyone hates you XD Thanks for watching! 🙏
I've watched pretty much every single reaction to this cinematic on RUclips and the majority of people don't understand the meaning behind it. I've played since 2004. Just casually until Vanilla Wrath hit and then I joined a 10-man raiding guild with a couple of rl friends. I had never set foot in a dungeon or raid before that but we ended up in the top 50 or so 10 man guilds in EU. Which for a bunch of teachers, bankers and welders in their late 30's who raided a couple of times a week was a massive achievement. Honestly one of the best experiences in gaming I've ever had. The whole expansion was unparalleled. We disbanded late Cataclysm for various reasons but I couldn't even bring myself to play Wrath this time around. Knowing it wouldn't be the same as before
It would’ve been such an escape from that kind of work too. Grats on getting there! All I’m good at doing is pulling early and getting my party wiped XD Thanks for watching

This cinematic was and still is very nostalgic, to what happened to arthas. But yes indeed this was the peak of WoW that when I first started playing wow.
1:38 Not only an epic shot but it's a throwback to when Arthas did a similar sword move before he plunged the sword into his father's abdomen and ripped his guts out... Wow and WOTLK was absolutely massive like fortnite in 2018. People forget wow was the game back then no other mmo could keep up turely one of the Golden ages of RPG and happy to be apart of it
It was beautiful back then to walk on the Icecrown glacier towards Sindragosa's Falls, to find the exact spot where Arthas broke the ice with his sword Frostmourne to resurrect Sindragosa. It was even more exciting to lead a party of 25 players into the Icecrown citadel, defeat all the bosses to arrive on the top of the citadel to fight against Arthas
I started WoW back when Burning Crusade was just ending and playing this first hand/fighting Arthas even in 10man will always be the best gaming I'll ever do - none of us deserved this expansion, it was phenomenal

@@Sebbywebz you have to do it before cataclysm classic comes out. Personally, I think they should stp the classic series with Wrath, because I concider post wrath more of a "modern WoW". I think if you buy some classic pack, you get a level 70 boost with it.. or you can level from level 1 for "free" (15 $ a month). by the way, you should watch the "Wrath gate" cinematic and the "Icecrown citadel" trailer, they are, like most everything else in wrath of the Lich king, very cool.
Wasn't just peak WoW. It was Peak WoW cinematics. Like putting WoW's Cinematic team with FF music. This one is just beautiful. Its also the last xpac of WoW i played so i do remember it rather fondly.
Now THIS is how you react to this masterpiece! Hard to say whats peak Warcraft,I lived through the entirety of Wrath Of the Lich King! Raids and all,and kept playing all these years! For me Legion was peak actually!
You said it, i feel like if they made the movie about the rise of arthas and hinted towards his fall towards the end it may have been a bigger success and wouldve lead to a complete triology but really, warcraft should likely have been a series because there's too much story to tell in movies.
I’m a bigger fan of classic FF than XIV. But theres no point even trying to compare the OG ones to WOW. Wrath sounds like it was a legendary time. Wish I could’ve been there for it 🥲
The nostalgia-- I was gifted Wow at the end of BC, but didn't get into Wow until Wrath released and I found a bunch of IRL friends that played. We waited outside ye olde EB Games to pick up our copies; went back to our friends house and played for like four days straight in a lan party. This whole expansion was the best gaming I've had with friends every-- and I've never been able to recapture that time. So yeah, I'm a WoLK simp
Ah man, the good old days of LAN. Was such a pain in the ass to actually leave the house to make it possible XD But once you were all in the same room, it was the best multiplayer gaming experience ever 🔥
The Justified Wrath of the Lich King whose Friends Abandoned him because they lacked the foresight to understand what needed to be done #arthasdidnothingwrong
The freaking graphical presentation is amazing for when this came out. Not to speak of the music which is insane too but they were so far ahead of everyone in the industry. Sad whats happening nowadays
I was a Holy Paladin named Redeemus during that era. Wrath was unlike any other. Classic is on Wrath now but I'd rather not ruin the original. Holy Paladins were untouchable then too. That class was at its finest moment.
This was indeed peak WoW. Part of the reason myself and many others refuse to play the game in its current state is the disgusting levels of disrespectful writing surrounding this character in recent expansions. This character, Arthas, is like the Darth Vader of the Warcraft universe. And they essentially told the entire fandom to "forget" about him and that "he doesn't matter." It's a complete fucking joke of a game now with fanfiction Gary Stu/Mary Sue characters everywhere. FFS one writer made an actual self-insert to romance his favorite female character. Then BRAGGED about it. And Blizzard still has him on the writing team. LMFAO.
It was peak WoW… oh! And if you’re a weab then name me 5 weabs or are you even real weab Nah ya , love you’re reaction to it.. I can’t quite explain or describe to you what it felt like being there, being in love with this game when this patch originally released … my god

The FF14 Community and WoW community seems to click well. It honestly makes me wonder how the Player Character of each side would fare in the others realm. Like the Champion of Azeroth fighting Bahamut. Or...it's Warrior of Darkness right? The Hero vs Arthas. Sorry my memory is rusty on their title.
Ita was the greatest execution the ever had with an expansion I loved every second of it all my rl friends plated it we raided it! It was the true end to the game! Glorious!

Not the best expansion. Subscriber numbers may have peaked here but the credit rally goes to vanilla and TBC. Subscriber numbers were barely higher than at the end of TBC (which saw a huge increase in subscribers) and it just plateaued before declining. The cinematic, however, is easily the best one. So good
The only thing that's more tragic than the story of Arthas is what blizzard did to him at the end of Shadowlands. Never forgive, never forget. F U blizzard.
@@Sebbywebz they hyped up his return an entire expansion just to appear as exactly as you described. No dialogue nothing. Then sylvanas more or less tells us all to move on and forget about him. It was the biggest F U to the wow community ever.
Lich King is still way more classic than retail right? I want to play it at some point, just to know. I have to see how Arthas was handled in WOW. I only know him from WC3/TFT
@@Sebbywebz Well, playing Wrath of the Lich King classic would definitely give you the story of Arthas. You can choose to level through Wrath with chromie time on retail, but you would finish leveling to 60 before the story is finished. Would recommend playing Wrath Classic for the best Lich King experience. They did a couple of in-game cinematics for Wrath, like Wrathgate and Fall of the Lich King. If you don't have the time to play through classic.
@@Sebbywebz Just doing the death knight intro once is worth it imo. You get a couple of quests from him at the beginning, then there is a scenario at the end with lots of dialogue. It takes about 60-90 minutes to do.
Its Uthers fault for Arthas turning into the Lich King. Uther simply pussied out of what HAD to be done and if he were there Mal'ganis couldnt manipulate Arthas as easy as he did. Jaina HAD to go with Arthas aswell for emotional support but then pussied out aswell and then... at the end... those 2 cowards dare to blame Arthas for everything even tho they both betrayed him and let him go alone against the forces of evil....
What you think of Blizzard bringing LFG matchmaking dungeon with auto invation updated system to wow Classic servers of wrath after all? does it kill wrath classic servers and everyone stop playing it? i think wrat hwas Blizzard best Wow expansion ever as it bring phase system and ingame cutscene and more voice acting in main story while not removed nothing on classic when Cata pre patch started it... It was first community request of classic wrath no released but Blizzard want to release it anyway as Arthas/lich king raid final patch of 4.2.3!! not sure why they changed their minds ordo classic wrath really need it? this lead we go anti social was retail WoW is.... Or is this lead hint No CATA Classic servers so we need this QOL update now?.. Who knows
the second best trailer is the warlords of draenor, too bad its rated the worst. and yes being there on wrath, felt like being at the center of the universe

@@ingolf82 yeah maybe level boost is the way to do lol. It’ll take forever otherwise. I’ll cross the bridge when I get there kek
this was still done with love. you can feel it
Yeah the effort is timeless. Crazy that a cutscene this old can hit harder than most today
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, was the pinnacle of gaming. For me, but for many other as well.
Hope we’ll something like this again eventually
First person ever who said “frost wyrm” and not dragon. 👏👏
I’ve been around since Warcraft 3 😆 Thanks for enjoying
This expansion was my favorite cause how much me and my mom enjoy the expansion
That’s nice to hear! My mum didn’t like games, but my dad thought they were cool
Wasn't just peak WoW. It was Peak WoW cinematics. Like putting WoW's Cinematic team with FF music. This one is just beautiful. Its also the last xpac of WoW i played so i do remember it rather fondly.
Yeah the music in the cinematic hits differently. Great stuff. Thanks for watching!
Now THIS is how you react to this masterpiece! Hard to say whats peak Warcraft,I lived through the entirety of Wrath Of the Lich King! Raids and all,and kept playing all these years! For me Legion was peak actually!
Thanks for enjoying the reaction! 🙏 I heard Legion was awesome too
This trailer is hands down Blizzard's MAGNUM OPUS.
Yeah it’s a masterpiece
This was its first pinnacle.
It would’ve been crazy at the time
The O.G right there sure there was illidan, but Arthas...He was the O.G.
Yeah heaps OG
You said it, i feel like if they made the movie about the rise of arthas and hinted towards his fall towards the end it may have been a bigger success and wouldve lead to a complete triology but really, warcraft should likely have been a series because there's too much story to tell in movies.
I assumed his story concludes at the end of WOTLK. But I hear it gets dragged out a bit into Shadowlands, in an unsatisfying way. Thanks for watching!
As much as I love FF, nothing comes close to this for me. This was truly peak WoW.
I’m a bigger fan of classic FF than XIV. But theres no point even trying to compare the OG ones to WOW. Wrath sounds like it was a legendary time. Wish I could’ve been there for it 🥲
the music is just so impactful, greatest cinematic ever made for wow❤
Yeah it hits right in the feels
The music in wotlk is awesome too
The nostalgia-- I was gifted Wow at the end of BC, but didn't get into Wow until Wrath released and I found a bunch of IRL friends that played.
@@Sebbywebz That's why they always lasted all weekend (or a week if you could get that lucky)-- no one could be bothered taking their towers home lol
The Justified Wrath of the Lich King whose Friends Abandoned him because they lacked the foresight to understand what needed to be done #arthasdidnothingwrong
THIS CITY MUST BE PURGED
This here kids.... this made legend.... a decade later HBO tried and failed to copy the majesty of this trailer for season 8
Arthars > Night King
(at least the show version)
@@Sebbywebz even the novel version...
The freaking graphical presentation is amazing for when this came out. Not to speak of the music which is insane too but they were so far ahead of everyone in the industry. Sad whats happening nowadays
Yeah they were gold standard of cinematics for decades. Blizz still puts out good stuff tho. I can't stop playing Diablo 4 lol
@@Sebbywebz diablo 4 is kind of an exception atm tho lol
@@zoey8977 it’s a great leap in the right direction imo
u should really watch the uther shadowlands short, his mentor and what happens to arthas after death
Cheers for the suggestion! And thanks for watching
I was a Holy Paladin named Redeemus during that era. Wrath was unlike any other. Classic is on Wrath now but I'd rather not ruin the original. Holy Paladins were untouchable then too. That class was at its finest moment.
I wish I had a time machine so I could play Wrath on launch
This was the absolute peak of wow
I’m sad I missed it ☹️ Thanks for watching 🙏
Music is goated here. Since 2004 i think.
Warcraft music has always been fire 🔥
this trailer is why I built my first PC, I had never even played wow!
WOW’s a good reason to have a strong PC 🔥
This was indeed peak WoW. Part of the reason myself and many others refuse to play the game in its current state is the disgusting levels of disrespectful writing surrounding this character in recent expansions. This character, Arthas, is like the Darth Vader of the Warcraft universe. And they essentially told the entire fandom to "forget" about him and that "he doesn't matter."
It's a complete fucking joke of a game now with fanfiction Gary Stu/Mary Sue characters everywhere. FFS one writer made an actual self-insert to romance his favorite female character.
Then BRAGGED about it. And Blizzard still has him on the writing team. LMFAO.
I’m sad I never experienced Wrath’s story, but I hope to someday. Arthas’s WC3 arc was shocking for its time
brought a tear to my eye
great genuine reaction nontheless
Thanks for enjoying 🙏
It was peak WoW… oh! And if you’re a weab then name me 5 weabs or are you even real weab
Nah ya , love you’re reaction to it.. I can’t quite explain or describe to you what it felt like being there, being in love with this game when this patch originally released … my god
Welcome, weeb XD Yeah I missed this growing up, but still want to play. Working my way through Classic, want to do Wrath after
@@Sebbywebz oh wow, I was literally misspelling “weeb” 😂. Goes to show how much of a *weeb* I am.
Enjoy your adventure through Azeroth. I just came back from a little break myself and I’m working on gearing up to jump in and take on the Lich King. Genuinely excited to relive it.
greatest wow expansion, greatest cinematic trailer. greatest story arc
I’m excited 😈
British Markiplier reacting to Lich King 😂
I’m Australian but close enough 😆
The FF14 Community and WoW community seems to click well. It honestly makes me wonder how the Player Character of each side would fare in the others realm.
Like the Champion of Azeroth fighting Bahamut.
Or...it's Warrior of Darkness right? The Hero vs Arthas. Sorry my memory is rusty on their title.
Estinien vs. Deathwing is one I want to see 😈
Or the Burning Legion invading FFXIV 🔥
It really was epic. Great memories.
it feels even more intense if you actually played w3 campaign
Yeah I remember being shocked by Arthas’s story arc when I played WC3. I was like 14 lol
God I miss those days 😢
I’m sad I never got to experience them 😢
Thére will never be another WoTLK
Sad but true. Hopefully Diablo 4 can make some magic of its own
I still got goosebumps everytime I saw this shiiiiit!
Yeah it’s a masterpiece 🔥
you need to watch the march of the lichking trailer for hearthstone its very well made.
Cheers I’ll check it out later. Thanks for watching!
Ita was the greatest execution the ever had with an expansion I loved every second of it all my rl friends plated it we raided it! It was the true end to the game! Glorious!
Watch a quick lore video about Arthas, probably some of the best wow has
I remember his arc from Warcraft 3 being shocking at the time lol
the sword everyone wanted and nobody got in the end sadly ^^
Ah I didn’t know XD You’d think it’d be a mythic transmog or something
@@Sebbywebz yeah as If blizz is allergic to fun thats why you get scuffed frostmourne Axe and corrupted ashbringer is so rare that Like 5% Had the Chance at Classic to get it
Not the best expansion. Subscriber numbers may have peaked here but the credit rally goes to vanilla and TBC. Subscriber numbers were barely higher than at the end of TBC (which saw a huge increase in subscribers) and it just plateaued before declining. The cinematic, however, is easily the best one. So good
You should watch patrick, that's the frostmourne😂
oh bloody good expansion true true
True
@@Sebbywebz but personal like all of them, not all of them whas perfect but nice story line
Fuck me. I must've watched 50 different reactions to this trailer and you're the first one to actually get the point of it.
I’ve never seen any reactions to this XD Thanks for enjoying mine man, I appreciate it 🙏
The only thing that's more tragic than the story of Arthas is what blizzard did to him at the end of Shadowlands. Never forgive, never forget. F U blizzard.
What happened? I heard his spirit got reduced to a gem you put in your armour or something 🥲
@@Sebbywebz they hyped up his return an entire expansion just to appear as exactly as you described. No dialogue nothing. Then sylvanas more or less tells us all to move on and forget about him. It was the biggest F U to the wow community ever.
@@johncampbell9107 ah man that’s brutal XD I still want to play Wrath someday tho, and leave his story there
@@Sebbywebz wrath is definitely a great experience it's all the original developers before Activision took over and more issues followed.
I would have loved to experienced Wrath of the Lich King, with Dragonflight quality level and character design.
@@Raffalius sick. Thanks for the protip to do Wrath Classic 🤙 Is the Death Knight area worth doing? I know you get to talk to Arthas in it 🔥
@@Sebbywebz Just doing the death knight intro once is worth it imo. You get a couple of quests from him at the beginning, then there is a scenario at the end with lots of dialogue. It takes about 60-90 minutes to do.
@@Raffalius hell yeah. Looking forward to it
man... i remember this, back when WoW wasnt a bag of shit
I’ve just started. I’ve yet to reach the bag lol
people say in the chat "jailer puppet" fk off I don't consider that garbage part of the original story, remember blizzard is trash now.
Wdym he planned everything since Warcraft 1 💀
Nah I’m with ya. Just cause something’s considered official canon doesn’t mean I have to like it
WoW music is the best ❤️
Warcraft 2’s OST still lives in my head rent free
Hell yea dude
Chills brotha
Wrath was the best xpac. I liked Cata before it got nerfed.
I hope the Wrath servers stay up after new Cata comes out. I want to play it but don’t want to rush to it
Its Uthers fault for Arthas turning into the Lich King.
Wrath was the best by far
You better start playing WoW after this
Starting streaming it few weeks ago XD Thanks for watching
You clearly played WoW before if so which years ? 😛
@@DiorElixir69 2019 was when I started lol, when Classic made a resurgence. Then again for SOD, to gank ppl in Ratchet
why are you doing a reactino video to something that came of a really long time ago lol.
Because the last time I saw this was 10+ years ago, and my community wanted to see my commentary on it
What you think of Blizzard bringing LFG matchmaking dungeon with auto invation updated system to wow Classic servers of wrath after all? does it kill wrath classic servers and everyone stop playing it? i think wrat hwas Blizzard best Wow expansion ever as it bring phase system and ingame cutscene and more voice acting in main story while not removed nothing on classic when Cata pre patch started it... Who knows
Oh look another stream "reactor" that watches chat and not the content they're "reacting" to. Instant downvote
@@mccall7122 wdym I reacted to the whole trailer XD What part are you talking about?
the second best trailer is the warlords of draenor, too bad its rated the worst. and yes being there on wrath, felt like being at the center of the universe
Mists of Pandaria is way worse than Draenor trailer XD At least Draenor feels like WOW and not Disney lol 😆
@@Sebbywebz im talking about the expansion being the worst, not the trailer. Also nice asmongold talking point
@@pseudosanct5253 oh yeah Draenor is rated pretty low lol. Asmongold talking point?
Nothing will EVER come close to peak WoW. Nothing.
I hope we’re wrong 😆 Thanks for watching
@@Sebbywebz me too, but i think MMOs are pretty much done. I do the FF14 expansions for the story and they're great, but the magic is gone.
Maybe Riot can do something great, but i'm not optimistic.
@@jaydunna2645 yeah it’s a different time period and they aren’t new or rare anymore. Will be interesting to see what the future holds tho
I like how those stupid people who say that this is the best expansion has zero valid arguments to prove it.
Which expac is the best in your opinion?
