I‘m proud of you.
Man the editing in this video is top notch
I worked at a for profit school for a short time as a instructional designer. The department in charge of search engine optimization and public relations department was larger than our educational team.
It's a shame how often stuff like this happens. (On a much less serious note) this is kind of what happens to alot of games, many supposed to be good being ruined by people paid to make people like something without actually interacting with it.
I guarantee you shenanigans like this are NOT exclusive to private schools. I bet many other people share my experience where their school seemingly had limitless funds for athletics, usually football, but would pinch pennies for anyone else. Most clubs, extra-curriculars, or non-athletic electives like band basically had to fund themselves.
They also sat on their hands for books, supplies, and those things, but would upgrade the stadium, scoreboard, snack bars, field, PA systems, and bleachers every couple years. To make matters worse, the school tightened rules on fundraisers, limiting the ways to get funding for the ones that need it most. They still get by, but it's just extra hassle for no reason.

Critical thinking was taught to me in school pretty much my entire highschool time. I have a much harder time believing anyone at face value I tend make sure its backed up by research and such instead of just believing them. I tend to make sure I find multiple sources and try to see both sides of an arguement, some people seem to refuse to even listen to another side just because they think of them as "the enemy" so to say. Automatically putting them a group thats "stupid" or "uneducated" when really its better if you listen in my opinion to the other side and see why they're wrong not just dismissing them automatically.
Always presume ignorance as well. Many people have a bad habit of acting like they know exactly what someone is talking about and what point they're trying to make... But really they just aren't listening carefully and are hearing what they want to hear to make a point they want to make.
Which school teaches critical thinking xd
Small addition to this, most arguments/discussions have usually more than two sides.
You should do a video on Edward Bernays. He was a nephew of Freuds that applied his uncles principles to found the field of public relations. He's not very well known to the general public, but if you read up on him you'll realize that he pretty blatantly admits that he figured out how to weaponize principles of mass/group psychology for the benefit of advertizers, politicians and corporations. He was the one that initiated the shift from a needs based method towards a desire based method of advertizing that is at the root of today's consumerist culture. He might legitimately be one of the most impactful people of the 20th century that no one's ever heard of.
there's a bridge from Freud to Bernays to Netflix ..

The USSR under Stalin is an interesting case study, a nation under siege that had been in active war from 1914 too 1921 and then invaded by its newest neighbor who held a grued, Poland. It was a nation hated by all other that attempted too remain open under Lennin. Once Stalin took over however, he used the desperation, the destruction of what little Imperial Russia had and the creation of the world as its enemy too create a devoted and desperate following.
Its not relevant to the video, but I love the old-vhs style you have developed over time
This is pretty relevant

Often days I feel like I brainwashed myself to be a optimist from being an pessimist
this reminds me of O'Brien from 1984
Love your videos! tnx !!
Nice work, thanks.
What I took from the video is that you can be “brainwashed” by anything with information and a message, it’s sort of human nature in a weird way, to centralize around a figure, it could have contributed to the success to our species, but nonetheless malevolent, not that everything that you are influence by is bad but if you use that aspect of our mentality for your groups gain.
This video feels good as i recently was viewing info about Mkultra and psychic driving. Cool

Your phonetic transcription sucks lol. I still love you.
Interesting claim that man used to think in entirely personal value or that this reflected rational and collective values, but the shift from local to global absolutely comes with trade offs. Still, I’m inclined to be skeptical of worldviews that call back to a golden past. New media makes the process easier and larger in scale no doubt, but this happened long before in analogue via old media and memetic beliefs. It’s all the same stuff baby

Coersive persuasion as well. 'The vaccine is safe and effective'
Thought reform is better
@@Unlucky-Dube Well, they use bad techniques to force people to vaccinate (which I disapprove), and I understand how the trust can be lost in situations like this, but the vaccine is good overall, a vast majority of people react well and it saves tons of lives.
@@victorlaforest748 i agree too. i think the vaccine is good and all but i don't like the vaccine mandates, cuz people are literally losing their jobs. not only that but i feel like that just makes people lose even more trust

gotta force jreg to make a series called menticide

If a child was thaught the tenants of critical thinking from a young age, this world would be quite a different place
But far too many are taken weekly to confess their sins and affirm their adherence to really non sensical beliefs which they are not allowed to question, under threat of eternal damnation. And they all keep insisting they are the good people. Hmmm.
That would only equate to less control over people and decreased potential earning of money though so it’s not likely to happen until some form of revolution happens
Nope!

Think for yourself. Be critical of statements. Reflect upon your past decisions. Could we, ourselves, be wrong?
It certainly seems like a large amount of contradictions, but they also allow us to break out of cycles and check on what we're doing. On the other hand, breaking free and navigating to new systems leaves us vulnerable to suggestion, too.
The work is never done.
