Nokia was so much ahead of its time. The designs still look more than modern and futuristic, and everytime I use that Symbian, which is pretty much a 2011 OS, feels really modern, especially comparing it to the OS back then, but it still holds up today, in many aspects even better than modern OS. (Except of course the lack of any support nowadays). I always imagine how far Symbian could be, if Nokia went on developing it further!
This was the very first device ever that brought photography revolution to the Smartphone world, because prior to this device, smartphones came with cameras equipped in them but they used to be just about very average in quality but when the N8 arrived, it took out the market by storm, hence bringing Smartphone photography to the main stream. Yes, I'm proud to be a Nokia fanboy.
I had a Nokia n900 which was released ahead of N8, and I was able to take amazing, crisp photos with that. I also loved its Maemo OS and the clean built. Best Nokia phone I ever owned. 😁
I had this phone for a couple of years. A few things to add: The camera had a mechanical shutter and a two stage camera button (as is tradition) There were two ways to charge it. USB and the legacy Nokia pin charger Beside the USB host it also supported keyboard and mouse. So you can go desktop mode with HDMI out. The OS would multi task the sound so you can listen to a podcast at the same time with music. if you want. The screen was AMOLED and had a customizable always on screen. You can put your own picture to always display when phone is idle.
What I love about this particular Nokia smartphone is that Nokia built a 12MP camera sensor with 1/1.83" and 1.75 micron pixel in 2010! Sony took exactly one DECADE later to create a modern day interpretation of such sensor with the IMX 555 for non-Ultra flagship Samsung Galaxy models and IMX 557 for flagship Sony Xperias. It does really show just how totally ahead of the times Nokia were used to be.
I have an N8 just for nostalgia sake. What I love about the phone is how many cool hardware features and I/O ports/slots it has, like a xenon flash with autofocus light, a ring illuminated home button, a charging light, two-stage shutter button, and a spring-loaded lock/unlock switch. Reminds us how many awesome hardware features are missing from flagships nowadays.

I miss my N8, sadly it just died down on me after years of use. The camera back then was superb and beats a lot of android and even iphone users. Editing on my PC back then was fun because i was blown away by the details. The games developed for it also was fun and that was the time when mobile games aren't online and meant to be played solo. + the hardware feel is superb. I truly miss my nokia n8.
