Just an FYI, others mentioned that the midsole was actually half ZoomX and the other half was react, And that is true, I did not realize that so thank you for those that mentioned it I will be sure to include this in my follow up after wearing, or comparison to Adidas boost
“It might not be a very good choice for runners out there”😂 It’s funny. Every time a sneaker head reviews a shoe, they kind of forget that some shoes are engineered for running and not for sneaker fanatics. The Pegasus Turbo is probably one of the best running shoes that came out over the past 2 years. I really like your reviews, great work. But keep it to casual shoes. Because of the hype and all the sneaker heads out there, many of us runners couldn’t get the Vaporfly 4%, which was really a shame because these shoes were made for running, not for speeding through the grocery store 4% faster.
Jonathan Beam all I’m saying is the Pegasus which is a runners staple, has a completely feel than these do.. I don’t run but I know lots of runners and this will feel unstable to many of them no question.
@@jeffwagner8108 - The thing is Hes Kicks is looking at top end elite running shoes which are meant for ultra skinny runners. They look soft and squishy because he has body mass to squish them. For a skinny runner they would not compress so much. It does look like Nike took the Pegasus fit and feel far away from it's traditional roots. It's no longer a shoe for the masses.
FYI I recommended True to size however the more I wear they do fit a little snug, if u like extra room in toe area then maybe .5 up, if others have input leave a comment
Hes Kicks completely agree! I went half size up and as a wide footer I'm glad I did! I can't wait to run in them! I went up more so for a wider midfoot sole.
they fit similarly as the epic reacts, the epic react is a bit more narrow. If you want to know how they feel, head over to your local footlocker and try on a pegasus 35 since they fit similarly. I did and I'm glad I did, so I can get size best for me.
HES so I tried thinner socks on this morning and did a 3 mile run! Wow!! I must say around the 1.5 mile mark I was really amazed at the pace I was at. When it honestly didn’t seem like I was at a pace faster then usual. Overall the cushioning is better then the Epic Nike React (don’t have another Nike run to compare too). But these are just a slight bit heavier. Also I I’ve had one knee surgery and a strained MCL in the other and these really absorb the impact which is very important. Breathability is good consider I’m here in Vegas. Well so sorry long but just wanted to give you my review thanks and keep up the content!
Bought these shoes yesterday, got them in today. Put 4 miles on them and they felt really good. Responsive and comfy at the same time. As someone who runs in zoom flys daily this is exactly what I was looking for.
Joseph Gad you might be a late bloomer. Otherwise there has to some other explanation to how you’re 16 and still can’t appreciate Skechers. This should be your year to see the light. If you let me help...I will shoe you the light. I’m here to save the youth. You and your friends are the future of the sneaker game. You matter.
Joseph Gad ....fine, well I tried. One day I hope you will give it a chance. Whenever that day comes..I’ll be ready and happy to have you in the team. I’m only a click away. Have a good day young man. #MaryBethOrNah
I think the opening is important. People complain “ Nike doesn’t innovate” as far as I am concerned in the last year or so starting with the vapormax, Nike has been going back to the labs and really cranking out some great shoes.
They've had to because they were losing market share to adidas. Over the past three years Adidas has really grown among American consumers. Now its just Nike playing the game, I feel like next year will be big for adidas.
J it’s gonna have to be. I feel like they have been lacking this year and I knew after going full go for 2 years eventually they were gonna have to back off and work on some new ideas. It’s seems they have awoken Nike’s r and d department which should be interesting. The one knock I have had against adidas, is that they don’t own and control boost out right. Because it’s not a self developed technology they don’t get the same control Nike does, and there is always the risk of BASF getting upset and opening the license. The fact Nike’s tech is self developed and owned is a big factor.
I guess but its still a partnership between two companies. One just so happens to make foam for Adidas but I see what you're saying. The ultra boost did change the game though just like many other sneakers.
I like what both nike and adidas have to offer so I don't care, as long as the competition keeps getting better idc. My feet are happy at the end of the day
I have had 9 Spinal Surgeries, and I go through shoes probably more than Nurses, People on their feet the majority of a day, Brooks, Mizuno, so far have been my Go-Too’s, I am going to have to try these out, Thanks for your review, like always, your spot on, ....!!!
I've been following your reviews for years man, keep up the excellent work! And don't take any negative criticism from "serious runners" too seriously on here. A lot of these "experts" talk about such technical garbage like overpronation and stability ; I consider myself a serious runner and I can run a marathon in pretty much any sneaker as long as its intact. Lots of runner these days are fickle to put it nicely. I enjoy your reviews even if it's from a lifestyle perspective. I bought my first pair of Flyknit Lunar Chukkas (Top 5 All time favorite,) after watching your vids. Keep grinding man!
Got these on Friday. Huge yoga guy and moderate runner. The shoes feel unbelievable on. My pace has been way faster with a lot less fatigue through the run. Very smooth ride and also look awesome
You have to keep in mind the 4% upper was supposed to be as minimal as possible. If they could've strapped the outsole to the runners' feet with a strap they would have.
I love mine. Got them today; instantly put 6 miles on them. They feel great during the entire run and were very stable; it almost propels you forward. They originally felt kind of small (size 13) at the toe box when I originally tried them on, but after a quick gym session and run, the started to break in. Only complaint I have is directly out of the box, both pairs from Nike had creasing at the heal, which is kind of weird. I'm assuming it happened during the manuf process; no biggie.
GT Creations sometimes if it’s too cushiony it just feels super lazy. Idk man but when I start getting tired from all the repeats , my feet start feeling sluggish and the starts feel slow
Not sure how some think it's a terrible cw when the ocean bliss and punch for women's 270 sold out so fast. The design is awesome, I've heard the run is better than an epic react which is good. I got offered the chance to get early but passed, 1 for price and 2. presto is more a priority right now. Great vid.
You said the materials on the 4% feels cheap and whatever. But they make it that way to make it minimal and lightweight. They didn't put Flywire either because it actually digs into your feet at higher speeds
I have the 4% for important races. I like them much more than the ONs I wear for easy days and regular races. Just started training for NYC. I just picked up a pair of Pegasus Turbos for my speedwork days.I'll run the race in the 4%
I actually run a lot and i love the Nike Zoom Pegasus 35s. Dont have the Turbos but the 35s are such good running shoes and look good for casual wear as well
You said you run a lot and I'm considering getting these turbo pagusus shoes but didn't want to spend 180 dollars if they aren't gonna last me a long time... How are they holding up for you?
From what I've heard, many runners said the 4% were great for racing but not everyday running, because of the carbon fiber plate. Supposedly the Pegasus Turbo is the best running shoe Nike has made with 85% energy return, which makes it very efficient. I can't say for sure, but I would definitely like to try them as a runner. Kustoo said he liked them better than react, which is what I currently run in.
Only done one run in my pair so far but I really enjoyed the first run. Wearing the shoe makes you feel like you falling forward a bit (something I really thought was cool) and the zoom x makes the shoe comfortable on a long run. Looking forward to training in these more!
Honestly as a runner, the turbo's are is an amazing combination of plushness and responsiveness and with an 180 retail they are def more worth than 4% with that carbon plate that goes for 200+ these days
Did you say that the Turbo is less stable then the Pegasus 35 ? I really loved the stability and the high outsole( expecialy at the forefoot area) durability of the Peg35.It is a tank of a running shoes . Wondering if the Turbo will last as long ...
Speaking of comfort, you should check out the New Balance Fresh Foam Cruz shoes. Their incredibly comfortable and well worth checking out given how low their price is.
Nice review and great call out on the paint job on the check. Like...CMON Nike! I bought these primarily for my everyday running and I love them, but I like that they fit in nicely as a lifestyle shoe. Now when I travel I can save space in my carry on. I won't mind rocking these with some sweats when I'm flowing through an airport.
If you’re a neutral gate and run a lot this is a great shoe. I always like the softest trainers when I ran in college like hoka Clifton brooks glycerin or adidas energy boost. I felt the Pegasus’ were too firm. But the turbos are on par with the shoes I just mentioned. Premium cushion for long runs. Only thing that concerns me is the durability. But if you can get 500 miles out of them that lives up to my standards. Another plus is with this shoe you get the best of both worlds, what I mean by that is it has premium cushion while being light weight which is pretty rare. Great shoe.
Great review! Thanks for showing us the shoes. Nevertheless I find your opinions for running purposes far from what many of us runners think, so you should only comment on them from the non-runner viewpoint. Thanks
Just ran my first 5 miles in my pair and I absolutely love them. I like running in these more than my epic reacts. Huge plus in the looks department too! #ZoomX
These were surprisingly bulky when I tried these on. They were comfortable but nothing crazy or mind blowing. I prefer my zoom Fly Flyknits over these. The shoe looks slick in pictures and in hand but when I put them on my feet the fit was perfect but looked like clown shoes on my feet. Idk it was weird.
Awesome stuff . I get mine this coming week and am very excited for this and have been waiting for another ZoomX midsole shoe that is not a racing shoe !!
Not happy with the stripe going down the middle. Picked them up after reviewing from finish line and stripe is pink man. Would have liked more of a red color for swoosh and stripes going down middle. Returning them tomorrow
I'm really interested in picking these up... price point was a little out of my range this week, but I really want a pair of these, I think the racing stripe is wicked.
That's just the price of the technology in performance sneakers. I believe Jordan retros shouldn't be 190$ because after tax it's $210.00.$180 for this turbo Pegasus IS high ,but I haven't tried it on but I KNOW I KNOW it isn't better than an Ultra Boost. An Ultra Boost is worth 180$.this new Nike shoe i just can't have a pricing opinion til I try it on. my guess 150$ would suffice "?",Because it ain't Boost.I'm not bias,it's just fact Ultra Boost is the best life comfort shoe in the world.IMO of course , ☺
Hes, I appreciate and respect all of your impressions and I love your videos! However, I do think that you forget what the 4% stood for - it was designed with lightness and speed in mind. The materials and overall structure of the 4% were designed to be minimalistic, in order to decrease the overall weight of the shoe and increase the possibility of breaking 2 hours for a marathon. I respect what you said about the shoe from the standpoint of a casual wearer, however I don't think you should fault a shoe that wasn't designed and engineered for someone who uses it in a casual setting.
Replying after doing a speedy 4mile run... When I first started running (last Friday) in them I did feel that "instability" but then today I used the runners knot and they feel secure and there was little to no stability issues.
I'll try a pair if u compare it to ultraboost. However, it looks too squishy and won't hold up for the long term. Just my thoughts. Please make a follow up in a few months! You're videos are great!
You have some great videos and i hope to get a pair of these as a running shoe. Please tell us about durability when the time comes! i hated that the 4%'s paint keeps on falling off.
Thx for the great review man ! Does this shoe have any react underneath because a few other reviewers mentioned they thought there was some react on the very bottom .
Kitty Mama it does have React foam, that explains the absence of the carbon fiber plate. If it were pure Zoom X it’d be the most unstable shoe around. This fact should have been mentioned in this video.
Been a runner my whole life pretty much, and been pretty hard core lately, doing half marathons in ~1:30. But I prefer more minimal shoes. Nike is pretty much the opposite of that, trying to engineer bigger and bigger cushions to make people think it's helping them run faster. I've always seen them as Aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, but for actual running I prefer to use shoes that make me feel more connected with the road/trail.
These look really dope, though it does seem too look kinda narrow. Any shoes that are super comfy for wider feet? The vapormaxes just don't work for me and I'm looking for something else.
Really wanted these for running but wasn’t able to grab a pair on the early release. I’ll try to grab a pair on August 2nd and I’ll see how they are then
Great review on the Zoom Pegasus 35. Can't wait for the "Nike Zoom Pegasus 35 - One Month Later" video to see how it turns out. Anyways.. Was thinking on getting the nike free run (2017 version) because I saw the "Nike Cushion Technologies Compared! AIR VS ZOOM VS LUNARLON VS FREE VS REACT VS ZOOMX" video and was very entertained on how the shoe flexed all the way back. But they only had the 2018 version. Now I'm debating whether to get asics hyperGEL-Kenzen (orange colourway) (because orange is my favourite colour) or Under Armour x The Rock for running/working out.
Running wise its doesn't feel squishy. Its perfect Ultraboost is too squishy this shoe feels perfect. Not sure where you are coming with stability. But this shoe feels perfectly built for you to go. I got like 20 miles in my pair this is almost the perfect running shoe for me one slight issue is its hot not much breathability. Honeslty I wouldn't compare this to boost its something very different React is more boost feeling especially run wise.
how. I tried to cop them the second they released and it was all like, "sorry, we are experiencing many transactions. please try again later." And after 10 minutes, my size just sells out.
Just an FYI, others mentioned that the midsole was actually half ZoomX and the other half was react, And that is true, I did not realize that so thank you for those that mentioned it I will be sure to include this in my follow up after wearing, or comparison to Adidas boost
Hes Kicks can you review the Nike Metcon 4
Please do a comparison to UB.
Should I get these or UB? The Turbo cost only 165USD here. Also the ZoomFly cost only 137USD.
Hes Kicks wait I ask a Nike rep and she said it was full Nike zoomx. I’m so confused who’s right?
is this better than the ultra boost?
FYI! The Pegasus Turbo is now available for those who want it! Nike bit.ly/2KjNypR or buy
from Jackrabbit bit.ly/2NXespK
I raced in a Nike street race and a 5k race in them so far. These are good. So good.
13 mile long run tomorrow.

Elijah Sierra thanks!
i've run 100 miles in them. highly recommend for actual running. try them on in store though.

Thinking on these or the UA hovr for my first 5k
Right now you can cop for $159!! no code needed just add to cart, link in description!

zoom (the term) is the new boost. it's getting used so inconsistently, it starts to do nothing to help you understand what the shoe is.

I’ve been wearing the Pegasus 35 all 4 years of XC in high school. This looks so good for my college running career
2 runs. A 5 miler and a 3 miler in the Pegasus turbo. Excellent running shoe with a ton of bounce. Miles just ticked off effortlessly.
Pegasus has always been my go to shoe. This is a dream come true.
As a runner you want a medium firm midsole too squishy makes it unstable believe it or not at least for me
GT Creations sometimes if it’s too cushiony it just feels super lazy. Idk man but when I start getting tired from all the repeats , my feet start feeling sluggish and the starts feel slow
avxrevo true because if it’s too cushiony it’s like running in sand because there is no rebound and jounce so you work more
GT Creations lol one of the reasons why I hate some xc spots. The grass be too soft
GT , have you tried the Turbo Pegasus on ?? I haven't yet

I just picked the black colorway up today. They were sitting at my Finish line.
I have the 4% for important races. I like them much more than the ONs I wear for easy days and regular races. Just started training for NYC. I just picked up a pair of Pegasus Turbos for my speedwork days.I'll run the race in the 4%

Thanks Hes! Great video review! I’ve been waiting for this! Yes pls Nike ZoomX pegasus 35 turbo vs adidas ultraboost!
Yea Hes, this shoe is on my radar, I really want to try this tech for sure. Looks super comfortable
I use softer cushioned shoes for long runs and firmer shoes for shorter and faster runs but a big factor is the wheight and the offset of the shoes
I'm going to wait for the triple black version.....hyped to get a pair

Hes, I appreciate and respect all of your impressions and I love your videos! However, I do think that you forget what the 4% stood for - it was designed with lightness and speed in mind. The materials and overall structure of the 4% were designed to be minimalistic, in order to decrease the overall weight of the shoe and increase the possibility of breaking 2 hours for a marathon. I respect what you said about the shoe from the standpoint of a casual wearer, however I don't think you should fault a shoe that wasn't designed and engineered for someone who uses it in a casual setting.
Thanks for the video...these are freaking awesome. I had almost given up on Nike, but I must say Nike has been putting out some great shoes lately.
As an avid runner this is actually a very good shoes for training and long runs. As for races, I say it's great for 5k to half-marathons.
thank you
Replying after doing a speedy 4mile run... When I first started running (last Friday) in them I did feel that "instability" but then today I used the runners knot and they feel secure and there was little to no stability issues.
same thing with me, runners knot made the shoe feel way secure and better.
Correction: the exposed foam on the bottom is react for longevity. There’s no exposed ZoomX
The early release was a shitshow. How is it for members but you can guest checkout? I was in the market for a running shoe too. Now I gotta wait.
Skechers foam gel slip ins, most comfortable shoe I've ever worn and I only paid $30.00 for them.✌
I'll try a pair if u compare it to ultraboost. However, it looks too squishy and won't hold up for the long term. Just my thoughts. Please make a follow up in a few months! You're videos are great!
planning on a follow up, going to wear mine a ton!
You have some great videos and i hope to get a pair of these as a running shoe. Please tell us about durability when the time comes! i hated that the 4%'s paint keeps on falling off.
Wait a few weeks and see how they break in then compare to boost
Just bought these can't wait til they arrive
Thx for the great review man ! Does this shoe have any react underneath because a few other reviewers mentioned they thought there was some react on the very bottom .
Kitty Mama it does have React foam, that explains the absence of the carbon fiber plate. If it were pure Zoom X it’d be the most unstable shoe around. This fact should have been mentioned in this video.
MrSergio021080 cool 😎 thx
Kitty Mama I have no idea i haven’t seen anything about that
MrSergio021080 just found that Barried in the details of the release... I’ll cover that in the full after wearing review
Hes Kicks thx
Been a runner my whole life pretty much, and been pretty hard core lately, doing half marathons in ~1:30. But I prefer more minimal shoes. Nike is pretty much the opposite of that, trying to engineer bigger and bigger cushions to make people think it's helping them run faster. I've always seen them as Aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, but for actual running I prefer to use shoes that make me feel more connected with the road/trail.
From a devout runners perspective, this is an exciting and quality review. Well done
I just got mines today 😩😩😩 I love them 😩
The fly wire looks like gills or the cage of an UB. I wish they’d match that color with the upper better.
Those look comfortable but damn these Nike midsoles all crease like hell
Love your vids man🔥🔥🔥
Jesse Arendse thx!
Just copped this on sale for $96. Major steal.
im 60 just ran my best half mar, in years on this shoe.@ 131lbs.
i hope this shoe releases in this same color on aug 2nd. i missed it because i wasn't too eager to buy another pair of shoes...
5:25 he says he can feel the aerodynamics
The outsole of the turbo is the same as the flyknit racer
Yabberz DABBerz Dewwz if you’re primarily running, definitely go with the ASICS
GrizzlySkater234 Ah, ok. Thanks! I'll try out the asics one. :)
So can you actually see your foot through the shoe or do you only see the mesh?
I love the side view but I can't get past wearing them with the bright racing stripe down the middle.
I love the stripe! I also love shoes that have that ankle design(looks dope with skinny or no socks).
Do a versus video against the ultraboost
What were those triple black Nikes you had in the very beginning? The second shoe I believe
Hi do you pick a shoe in the morning you have so many. Keep up the good work
These look greatttt. Love how these look. Need an all black colorway and I would cop.
Do you think this shoes is suitable for going to mall
These are dope. I dig the giant racing stripe.
Love these! Wish I had the money to get them right now!
I SO wish they had more colorways at launch for these, this color and the black ones just don't do it for me
Running wise its doesn't feel squishy.
