Rimuru being Veldanava is kinda up in the air right now. It is very possible because of what Michael and Velgrynd said. However, True Dragons cannot fragment as their soul is unbreakable. However that doesn’t mean Veldanava’s soul couldn’t have ended up in an human body.
It is also possible that Rimuru isn’t exactly Veldanava, but a theory I saw on reddit is that; Rimuru is the opposite of Veldanava. Veldanava was a God who had lost all his power to become no different from a human, and Rimuru is a human who eventually will gain the omnipotence and omniscience that Veldanava had lost.
I like this theory.
Here's a theory when veldanava used up all of his power he turned mortal and if you a mortal you are put in the cycle of reincarnation.

He locked most of his power away from the rest of the dimensions while separating a small part of his power and personality into Veldanova who created the Central World. Then when he 'broke' a rule he himself set the Word of the World moved things about to have him killed them once he was killed he reincarnated into Satoru with no memories of his past then when he died he was reborn into the Central World as a slime who was named Rimuru. However when he was killed the 1st time as Rimuru the WoW was the cause because it sensed Veldanava as his 'base' soul and it still wanted him dead for breaking the rules he no longer remembers. So Veldanava's and Rimuru's TRUE body and powers gave Chole the power to change what happened and reawaken Rimuru/Veldanava TRUE memories and power to rejoin their true form until only a small piece is left behind to act as the 'New' God of the Central World.

From reincarnation his desire to have a companion, not only help his soul transfer over to the cardinal world (making it stronger in the process) but also pretty much is the cause for all of his power. Even his ultimate skill strain was handled by great sage.
It also makes more sense for rimuru to be a successor rather than veldanava himself. As veldanava didn’t want all that power (that’s why he gave it up).

Rimuru on the other hand is slightly different from veldanava. As he NEEDS the power to achieve his goals. Making him have a desire to keep the power.
Since veldanava new the future he probably new that if he takes this path someone else would take his place as the new god as well, since before he gave up the power he was all seeing. So seeing how happy this “new god” could make the world and how he has the opportunity to give up being so powerful, that made him choose that path.
He was simply bored. Having a family was just a plus.

Only Raphael's remaining part after it's core got converted into Ciel, Veldora, Velgrynd and Beelzebub got combined to create it. Wheras Uriel's core or essence left after creating Cthuga(Velgrynd's ult) and all the remaining skills got combined to create Shub-Niggurath.

Not sure I would say Rimuru is Veldanava, but my own theory is that Veldanava being all knowing and powerful saw the future and imparted a part of his soul to Veldora knowing that Rimuru would meet him and that Veldora would name him. This is when that part of Veldanava’s soul merged with Rimuru and the rest is history

Rimuru's Draconic Sword should have 4 slots in it. Velgaia IMO is coming maybe after defeating Ivarage. In WN, Velgaia was born from Gaia and Zero (more like LN version of Vega with Evil Dragon Azidahaka) merging as one including all of the outraging energy in the labyrinth at that time but maybe this time in LN, it will be Gaia merging with Ivarage core (with possibility of Ivarage eating Vega before going out of the Cardinal World as the power of Evil Dragon Azidahaka feels like it fits him more) after his impending defeat. After all, maybe Velgaia will house all of the power of darkness as it's sealing vessel (Former self Chaos Dragon, Vega with Evil dragon Azidahaka + Infinite eater Bacteria + Devastator Virus taken from Zelanus + Evil Dragon Ivarage and maybe Dark Nebula, though Velda the Manas of Yuuki used this in WN but maybe will be used instead as main power of Ivarage as all True Dragons have their own distinct True Dragon Magic though not implying Ivarage is a True Dragon species but a species of it's own). LN is just a rearrangement of happenings in WN and inserting few more characters with more interesting background (Insectars, Phantoms, Manas Michael and Ivarage while some of the roles of Manas Lucia and Velda from WN was redistributed into these LN characters) to make it comprehensive and feels more complete plot-wise.
Naming the Sword is just a few chapters away as it was hinted before a possibility to give it it's own identity as implied by Rimuru himself. Maybe Veldanava's Genesis Class sword will also be introduce in LN just like in WN as part of the weapon of the main antagonist (most probably Yuuki as hinted he is still alive and is just roaming around in the infinity void, maybe his Mammon will evolve into Manas as well as it has it's own ego somehow before with now having sub skill of Akashic Records) to challenge future newly evolved Genesis Class Draconic Sword.
I am with you being Rimuru is the remaking of Veldenava. Well it is as if predestined and just taking the coarse of the events to phase by phase quickly taking over all of the pre-requisite of powers and abilities of Veldenava and integrate it to Rimuru with the help of Ciel just like fullfiling the inevitable law of the world that True Dragon never dies thus, will be reborn afterwards but this time took quite a while as Veldenava before his death was stripped off of his powers and even downgraded his species into a mortal so the process of his reborn needs time and is taking slowly as the fragments of his identity and powers will be recollected again piece by piece this time. It is just reversing the things that happened before Veldenava's death starting him being reborn as a mortal human Satoro as upon his death he died as mortal and later on, this, Rimuru became a thing and is overtaking everything what was meant in Manas Michael intended plan.

I think there's one easy explanation why Rimuru is compatible to be a true dragon. To be a true dragon is to have unbreakable soul. No matter how many times they die, their soul will bring them back to life (reincarnate) although with different personality and with this alone explain why Rimuru is capable to be a true dragon. Weirdly enough, we know Veldanava had already died, but unlike Rudra's soul which is fragmented, Veldanava's soul simply reborn as Satoru Mikami, an average japanese person. He lived out his life the way he was and he died again thus he (accidentally) wished for 2 compatible unique skills to have and again, his soul is still whole and reborn, but his wishes made him to be a slime, neither human nor dragon. (Yes I agree he is Veldanava, just reincarnated and having different personality than Veldanava we and the tensura world know)

There are many hints in the novel about Rimuru possibly being Veldanava reincarnated but without his memories (true dragons reincarnate, not having to submit to anyone but losing part of their memories and personality. If Satoru Mikami/Rimuru is Veldanava reincarnation, then the resurrection he went through was a lot more extreme with him possibly maintaining his personality but losing all memories instead)
Not only that, but also some hints from different people like Velgrynd, Dino and Michael (Velgrynd wondering how Rimuru could meddle and alter skills, something only her older brother could possibly do. Dino mentioning that despite Rimuru presence being different, it had some similarities with Veldanava as well. And with Michael feeling a familiar warmth when being absorbed by Rimuru, and Rimuru himself feeling a bit different for the first time after he absorbed the manas)
We have info that sustains the theory, but also some other that says otherwise. In the end, all we can do is theorize until Vol 22 is released and we might have a official answer (or perhaps no answer at all, since it was never confirmed in the web novel neither, and Fuse would leave us with no definite answer)

Im wholeheartedly convinced that Veldnava in his complete wisdom found the one thing most important to him which was his love with Lucia. When he became frail after their conception of Millim he knew his time was limited and he threw together a whole plan to spend eternity with her through them both reincarnating and their spirits or souls will continue to form and lead different lives but will always be with each other and love each other that way. Like a connection of magicules of a sort, where it is not their true being thats together, aka rimuru is his own person but Veldnava is happy to exist as part of that with Lucia the same. And though im not fully caught up with the slime story but where rimuru is an anomaly in the series of how he came to be and the setup of everything I feel Chloe is the same. What in all makes her so significantly special that she is chosen by Rimuru/Veldnava to wield the mask. Even Rimuru himself says he has no idea why he gave Chloe the mask and the spirit form of Chloe when she arrives gives Rimuru a kiss. I think that everything that is playing out in the Tensura series currently is Veldnava's way of continuing to Live and reincarnate through Rimuru and continuing life with the reincarnated Lucia residing in Chloe.
Instead of self inserting into rimuru, whose personality is a reason why he's beloved, I thinks is more intresting to imagine of Rimuru would isekai you. Imagine being a newb under Rimuru and Ciel is optimizing ur skills. Maybe your a reincarnated moderator from another world.

Plus, in the latest novel, the demons gained rimuru’s power of resurrection from their connection with rimuru, the power to manipulate life and the defy nature is thought to be impossible in tensura’s world according to the empress of Sarion, the only person capable of doing this is the creator, Veldanava
The probability of Rimuru being Veldanava is possible since in all of the tempura world the only being who wants to create things rather than destroy them is Rimuru tempest other than Veldanava himself.

For those wondering, Shub Niggurath is also known as 'the goat of a thousand young', a being who can birth all sorts of creatures, which far surpass human comprehension, from her won flesh by pure will.
Azatoth, is a being that basically ALL fear, even the elder gods like Chuthulu. Because homeboy may be sleeping in the very centre of ALL reality, and it's in everyone's best interest it stays that way. Because, ALL of reality, space, time, matter, thought, etc, ONLY exists because Azatoth sleeps. In the Cuthulu mythos, ALL of reality is being dreamed by Azatoth. EVERYTHING is simply his dream. Reality doesn't exist within his dream, it is his dream. Or rather, His dream is reality itself.
Just a side note, even Velgrynd who refused to acknowledge Rimuru as a brother after he became a true dragon. Thought something was up when he changed her skill from the Charity King Raguel to the Flame King or God Chtugha. She knew that shouldn't be possible, she questioned who Rimuru really was.
Well yes that's the reason why Milim listen to rimiru becoz he is his dad technically and that's why she is so comfortable with rimuru
It's going to be interesting to see how the anime handles these more extreme concepts found in the later half of the franchise.
There examples of people have more than one ultimate skill big dog. Dino being one of them. He has both an angelic ultimate and a demon series ultimate. Astarte, the angelic skill, and belithigor the demonic skill.
Rimuru is definitely the reincarnation of veldanava, and veldora is his body (it developed it's on ego) that was left behind after giving up his divinity to be with his wife, milims mom. The reason rimuru was reincarnated in veldoras cave was because veldora is the body left behind, and he was the soul coming back.
The way Rimuru gained Raphael was a bit abnormal. Normally people obtain skills on their own, however Raphael evolved itself through it's own will, Raphael at that point was already developing it's own soul, so Ciel itself could act as fuel, said soul being derived from an Angelic skill would have possessed a very high amount of soul power.
For the time loop Chloe, Rimuru has been outside Time by going to the End of it. Nihility energy can also break laws.
Also there is another possibility. We do know that Gaia, Milim's pet dragon's Factor spread throught the world. It is much nicer to think Milims friend has reincarnated and is once again friends with her.
There is also a scarier theory. That being Rimuru is in some way related to Ivarage. Seven Angels of Origin AND Guy Crimson needed to all team up against this single being, that has been speculated by Feldway to be from Another Universe. Feldway has been around since the Dawn of Creation and normally the word World is used. Saying it's from outside the Universe is basically confiring it is not part of Veldanavas creation. Ivarage also lacked any Coherent Though or Emotion, so it's Soul Power can't have been strong, despite that they faced the combined might of 8 Ultimate Skill holders for a significant time period and wasn't even killed, only sealed. It would also tie in together with Rimurus Outer God Ultimate skill naming covention. As for the familiarity Michael had, if Ivarage is truly from outside creation then it would have been similar to Veldanava.

I already knew from the beginning that Rimiru had some kind of connection to Veldora if you see Rimiru was attracting people like Veldora Millim Diablo Ramiris Carrion Choloe then 3 other Primordials also Guy Crimson and dino also was interested in Rimiru from there first meeting.

I think the accumulation and reunification of the void towards the end could be a natural progression of the unique skill gluttony. The act of using predator on Veldora could have been the spark for this path.

Slimes spawning from magicules seems normal based on description. The reincarnation is stated to be unlikely but you went in to why that might have happened. The human instincts might have prevented the slime from being eaten there were a lot of other monsters developing in the caves that wanted to eat him. After he had vision he was even better defended.
Didn't Dino say rimuru soul is not the same as veldenava? I think rimuru is just his own person with a unique soul. The reason he was recanated in the cave was because of his unique soul and how much ability he had compared to an average slime

Nah Veldanava has a reincarnation called Velgaya which was Millie's pet dragon...so, Rimuru isn't Veldanava...in novel it's also said that Veldanava's wife had the "Wisdom king Rafael" skill and Rimuru could be her reincarnation but it wasn't proved...

Maybe that's why Milim was very friendly to Rimuru since their first encounter and Rimuru was able to keep her from running amok like how a father keeps his daughter in line.

I guess we’ll see if it gets revealed at some point if Rimuru is actually Veldanava’s reincarnation.
However, I would bet on it being more along the lines of Veldanava’s will chose Mikami Satoru as his successor and is not a literal reincarnation. For one Mikami dies and reincarnates as a slime. As we’ve seen with every other Japanese people who are brought into the Cardinal realm they don’t die and reincarnate they get transferred over the way we see with Hinata and the other kids. So I don’t see why Veldanava would go through the trouble of having a plan to die reincarnate as Mikami Satoru in Japan and then die again to go all the way back to the realm he just left.
I would find it more amusing if they went with the Sage lore that exists in Japan where if a man makes it to a certain age as a virgin they become a Sage. Especially since this was mentioned at the beginning of the series when Mikami dies. If someone with a good heart and was a virgin at death dies then they meet these qualifications for Veldanava’s successor. Him being the successor would still answer the question of how he is able to achieve all the things you discuss in this video.
It’s also worth mentioning that in Japanese the surname “Mikami” written as such in Japanese “三上” refers to being bestowed something by God or a higher power.

He uses it against Yuki after coming back from the end of the universe.
