I always have to delete and reinstall S3 when too many bugs. Polly's one of the first Sims I choose only to get her some money and a nicer apartment and a make over. Then she's on her own.

So true I hate classes and capitalism irl BUT I feel like having a class system in the sims could be helpful for this, so every sim kind of has a class, And then there can be 4 different lot traits that you can set for each lot so this is prevented and Judith Ward isn't singing Karaoke in planet honey pop So like 'lower, upper, middle, and all classes' Lot traits. but maybe in the form of how they have done the pronouns update so it doesn't take up space for other lot traits we want to ise
I grew so attached to her, i almost forgot that she's a vanilla character. When i got my gaming pc and i was finally able to play the game properly, i randomly picked Buster Round in Bridgeport just to see how the game looks on max graphics, without lag. But then i started to like him and his story. I met Polly, we became lovers and asked her to join my band and we did quite well. She became pregnant so we decided it's time to move. Now we live in Appaloosa Plains on a huge pumpkin farm and our son just turned young adult.
@@nougatella9820 It really is. They reached their life goals, got tired of the big city, i changed their lifetime wish and now they live a quiet life. Gardening, cooking, hosting bonfire parties. And with that grandma's canning station thing from the store, they make insane amounts of money :D

This series is really driving home how much more content the sims 3 had compared to the sims 4. Late Night was one expansion pack that the sims 4 has taken 4+ packs to cover.

Yup. TS3 and even TS2, although much older than TS4, are a lot better. These videos really make me wanna play with TS3, it’s just a shame that my laptop couldn’t handle it. I’m currently playing with TS2, and it has soooo much more than TS4, even though 2 is a lot older and everything...
I never thought Polly was poor! I never really paid much attention to her, when i used to play in bridgeport i thought she was a rich snob because of her fancy coat. Now i feel bad for her. Now i want to explore the lore of every family in every world my sims live 😝
@@sockshandle The name of the building implies a relative of Polly was wealthy and maybe Polly parents weren't poor but they wasted their fortune. However a poor lady can wear a fancy coat due to several reasons: she is a maid and the owner of the household gave her an old coat, charity, she found it in the garbage, she stole it, she wasted most of her savings in this coat, etc.
@@arieltales8952 thing is the coat is not “Fresh” that is to say it doesn’t look laundered properly (not to mention her shoes) you can say that she got the coat from a former tenant or her mother but that still means that it overall doesn’t imply wealth on its own especially if some items of clothing contradict (for example her sandals with the mink coat) (not disagreeing on the implication of her building or Bio)
Anyone noticed the word “maloney” is like a mix of the words “money” and “lonely”? It definitely shows how poor Polly struggles finding friends because of her financial situation.
Polly reminds me a lot of Little Edie Beale, who became famous for being in the Grey Gardens documentary in the 1970s. Like Polly, Little Edie came from a prestigious family (she was Jackie Kennedy's 1st cousin) but she and her mother lost their money and lived in squalor in their formerly up-market house. She also wore an old fur coat very much like Polly. Seriously, I'd recommend that people looked up Grey Gardens - it was fascinating
The ring Polly wears (5:24) matches the one that Lotta Graves wears. (4:22 in "The Grave Behind Plasma 501 | A True Sims Crime"). They have the same metal colour and even the same gem. I'm not sure how customizable rings were in Sims 3, but it seems interesting that they are a perfect match and these women lived in the same city. Friends? Lovers?
I think this particular ring always has a gold band, but the stone color of Polly's ring isn't one of the default colors- my initial thought was that they could be related like the ring was passed down to Polly when Lotta died ? The only similarities I see between them is that they both have grey hair and eyes, and they have the same lifetime wish

Polly reminds me to Agnes Crumplebottom because both are romantic, bookworm and frugal, live alone and somehow they are ignored by society (nobody remembers Erik Darling except Agnes so nobody knows about her sorrow and Polly is ignored for being poor in a city designed by a rich corrupt, Nick Alto's brother, for rich people).
Polly is my favourite premade in the entire game, I just really love struggling to get her a better life and slowly giving her a prettier basement and wardrobe. I dumpster dive bit keep all the quirky stuff she might dive up. Also, I paired her up with Buster because the story of the two of them fighting for a better life is just too cute.

In the playthrough with my actor self-insert character, he actually meets Polly on his way up the fame ladder. Jim gets mentored by Matt Hamming and eventually becomes a bed-hopping cad, but still platonically cares about Polly and won't take advantage of her desperation. I see her as plucky and determined ("You can do anything you set your mind to, you're a Maloney!" ) She's too proud to admit how bad off she is. So when he gets high dollar celebrity freebees, Jim throws them in the dumpsters where Maloney goes to scrounge so she can use the money.
I'm coming back to Polly when I don't want to play my Sims anymore. She became a writer, went to university. For now, Polly is not ready for love because she was heartbroken(Buster only calls her when he needs something, Ace was interested in her but married his flatmate instead). Also, she is slowly renovating her basement. I had an idea that whatever happens to Polly(propably she will move to another city), she wanted to leave this place for anyone who needs a flat to start their live in Bridgeport.
In my game I had her work on her writing skill at the local library and start writing books so she could earn money to attend university. While in university she met Che Justice and they began dating, after she got her degree came back to Bridgeport wit Che and I had them work to earn money so they can get away from Bridgeport completely and find a nice house elsewhere. I moved them to twinbrook and now they have 3 kids. Jewel, Pecana and Riot.
Getting her out of poverty and completing her lifetime wish at the same time is super easy. When she is off work have her practice guitar until she can play for tips. Find a location allot of sims will show up at when yours does and play for tips until she is exhausted or she has needs to take care of. As she plays she earns tips and gains friendship with those who are listening and when around level 10 with guitar at the right spots she could make ~1.5k per day in tips and can quit her part time job. A few weeks of that and she can get one of the nicer apartments, a month and one of the empty houses near the mayors house. I have a Sim in Sunset Valley that does just that, started with just a guitar on an empty lot and not a penny to her name. Find some harvestable fruits for food or raid the picnic baskets at the park, shower at the pool, nap on a couch in the library, practice guitar and start earning tips until you can put a bed on your sims lot so he/she can get a proper sleep. In a month your sim will be best friends with most everyone in town and have a normal house just from playing for tips in front of the theater.
I nearly never play a premade household, but this inspired me and now Polly is married to Matty and they have a son and while not rich they're living comfortably, I still haven't been able to get them to move out of where she was living before hand. My plan was for them to work through their young adult life stage and have a kid as soon as both were adults, but they both got the wish 'have first child' and I couldn't resist.
I think she's an absolutely beautiful Sim, one of the nicest ones in my opinion. I have a current save where she's already pretty well off with a fiance and I'm aiming for a legacy.
polly's one of my favorite bridgeport sims! and you're right, her basement apartment is huge and you can do a ton of stuff with it! one of my favorite things to do is renovate the apartment and have her be successful!
I love Sims 3 bc even 10+ years after release I'm still learning new things about it. A video on community lots across the series would be really interesting imo!
I loved your perspective about Polly. It's one of the intriguing down to earth mysteries of Bridgeport rather than any dramas. When I usually play in Bridgeport, story progression usually pair her with Buster and usually get promoted easily, like after one week I used Edit Town and saw she already raised 2100>. She's is one of the Sims in Bridgeport who doesn't get involved to any of the rubbish Bridgeport has.
conference rooms and children's areas are pretty standard for big city libraries. they're fantastic community centers and its nice that Maxis represented this :D
I gave Polly always a better life, bc i feel so pity for her. :( I always turned her into a vampire and leveled her up as a star. Most of the time I hooked her up with Buster and gave them a nicer house and clothes.
Guys, I have totally missed this lore as I was playing strictly in Sunset Valley, but it’s rather heartwarming to read that many of you have given Polly life she deserves
I thought she maybe could’ve married into money. It would make sense with her hopeless romantic trait. Maybe she married into the Maloney house before they went bankrupt and after they did, her husband skipped town without her. That made more sense to me than her parents just leaving her behind like that. Her being frugal could also be a product of her not growing up with much money.
This video inspired me to find Polly and pick her up. First thing "she" did was sell the dangerous, crumbling old building to the city and buy an empty 10x15 lot. "She" built a tiny underground house (much cheaper). After that "she" slowly built up a good life working her way up at the bookstore until she could afford university. Now she's got her arts degree and is a writer selling books. Soon she will be building a small house above-ground. So, she's not wealthy, but neither is she in miserable poverty anymore.
It can be fun playing a struggling poor sim. Living in basically a cardboard box and wearing a suit coat made of newspaper but get a lot of good relationships because you go out and about because there's nothing really to do at home. Getting good relationships might mean getting more money begging
Bridgeport is my 2nd favorite city in The Sims 3, I played a lot there and never even thought Polly might be poor. I payed attention to her fancy coat and never noticed her shoes nor played or visited her "apartment" so she seemed like a rich snob xD
I will make her buy Red Berry Plants to plant or Toy Arcade Machine to play with which comes with Supernatural EP. She will get rich quickly for sure✨✨

Never knew about this at all, I remember playing my past sims playing at Bridgeport and seeing Polly, but thanks for this video, I haven't been playing Bridgeport for storyline purposes (I am playing at Roaring Heights atm), but I do suggest doing a video or maybe history video on the community lots! :D
getting a sim out of poverty is sooo easy... you can just sell flowers or paintings. imagine trying to get an american out of poverty, now that's a challenge
Hi, just found your channel and I really apreciate it. Just started playing with Polly, in my version of the story, she's a journalist climbing her way up the ladder whilst also freelancing as a novelist. My plan for her is to find her a partner, adopt one child and have one child of her own.
there was a drama where in my legacy chalenge my gen 2 kid now an young adult met her. and when he made a wedding party for him and his fiancee 2 hours before the wedding she called to ask him on a date! (keep in mind that she had a crush on him :0)
In my game, she's now married to Matty and has a son. I also got her a steadier job and a better home for her family. Honestly, I think she deserved a better life than what she had. :)

I think I might like this lass. I like to start out dirt poor and work my Sims up to being wealthy. My lad Jaden couldn't even afford to pay the bills early on, so it felt good when he finally had enough to buy the Tudor in Sunset Valley. I was gutted when they had to leave it.

I haven’t played ts3 in years and this video inspired me to start again! Basically I had her slowly save up money and make her apartment nicer and I had her be in a relationship with Marty, they eventually became roommates after dating for a bit. I had her write a novel but it didn’t do well so I’ve been focusing on fame because Marty got 1 star somehow before he moved in with her. I had them move out of the basement apartment but I actually regret it because the studio apartment is way too small so I’ll probably have them move back in there and I’ll renovate it more. Polly got to the top of her job with a decent raise so I’m torn between getting her a better job or focusing on Mattys career because I put him in the music career. I made over Polly and Matty but I made Polly look more like a celebrity than him because she’s 3 stars now. I dyed her hair black to sort of show how she has a new era in her life and doesn’t want to be remembered by her struggles. This is all over the place lol but her and Matty just recently got married and they’re doing pretty well so far, probably gonna have him start a band and as Polly gets older gonna have her settle down more😄
I love your channel! Honestly it gives me inspiration to create lore in sims 4 which is hard to do! I've had the same save file for years and finally it's getting interesting.
3:14 Base game or beta: Let's place pedestals in the Goth house and put wood texture on them to make them look like old wooden crates. Late Night: We have real wooden crates. EA has always used expansions to add small items that could put them into the base game, without spending any money.

She is definitely a sim I would love to play. She has just enough challenge to make it fun and enough backstory to let you make her story your own.

polly's one of my favorite bridgeport sims! and you're right, her basement apartment is huge and you can do a ton of stuff with it! one of my favorite things to do is renovate the apartment and have her be successful!

I loved your perspective about Polly. It's one of the intriguing down to earth mysteries of Bridgeport rather than any dramas. When I usually play in Bridgeport, story progression usually pair her with Buster and usually get promoted easily, like after one week I used Edit Town and saw she already raised 2100>. She's is one of the Sims in Bridgeport who doesn't get involved to any of the rubbish Bridgeport has.

conference rooms and children's areas are pretty standard for big city libraries. they're fantastic community centers and its nice that Maxis represented this :D

I gave Polly always a better life, bc i feel so pity for her. :( I always turned her into a vampire and leveled her up as a star. Most of the time I hooked her up with Buster and gave them a nicer house and clothes.

Guys, I have totally missed this lore as I was playing strictly in Sunset Valley, but it’s rather heartwarming to read that many of you have given Polly life she deserves
I thought she maybe could’ve married into money. It would make sense with her hopeless romantic trait. Maybe she married into the Maloney house before they went bankrupt and after they did, her husband skipped town without her. That made more sense to me than her parents just leaving her behind like that. Her being frugal could also be a product of her not growing up with much money.
This video inspired me to find Polly and pick her up. First thing "she" did was sell the dangerous, crumbling old building to the city and buy an empty 10x15 lot. "She" built a tiny underground house (much cheaper). After that "she" slowly built up a good life working her way up at the bookstore until she could afford university. Now she's got her arts degree and is a writer selling books. Soon she will be building a small house above-ground. So, she's not wealthy, but neither is she in miserable poverty anymore.

It can be fun playing a struggling poor sim. Living in basically a cardboard box and wearing a suit coat made of newspaper but get a lot of good relationships because you go out and about because there's nothing really to do at home. Getting good relationships might mean getting more money begging
Your videos made me appreciate the pre made sims a lot more, and it gave me a reason to play the sims, since I'm not to good at creating stories.

Bridgeport is my 2nd favorite city in The Sims 3, I played a lot there and never even thought Polly might be poor. I payed attention to her fancy coat and never noticed her shoes nor played or visited her "apartment" so she seemed like a rich snob xD
I will make her buy Red Berry Plants to plant or Toy Arcade Machine to play with which comes with Supernatural EP. She will get rich quickly for sure✨✨

Hi, just found your channel and I really apreciate it. Just started playing with Polly, in my version of the story, she's a journalist climbing her way up the ladder whilst also freelancing as a novelist. My plan for her is to find her a partner, adopt one child and have one child of her own.

I haven’t played ts3 in years and this video inspired me to start again! Basically I had her slowly save up money and make her apartment nicer and I had her be in a relationship with Marty, they eventually became roommates after dating for a bit. I had her write a novel but it didn’t do well so I’ve been focusing on fame because Marty got 1 star somehow before he moved in with her. I had them move out of the basement apartment but I actually regret it because the studio apartment is way too small so I’ll probably have them move back in there and I’ll renovate it more. Polly got to the top of her job with a decent raise so I’m torn between getting her a better job or focusing on Mattys career because I put him in the music career. I made over Polly and Matty but I made Polly look more like a celebrity than him because she’s 3 stars now. I dyed her hair black to sort of show how she has a new era in her life and doesn’t want to be remembered by her struggles. This is all over the place lol but her and Matty just recently got married and they’re doing pretty well so far, probably gonna have him start a band and as Polly gets older gonna have her settle down more😄
I don't have the Sims 3 (yet) and this makes me really want to get ts3 and just help her🥺

Base game or beta: Let's place pedestals in the Goth house and put wood texture on them to make them look like old wooden crates.
Late Night: We have real wooden crates.
EA has always used expansions to add small items that could put them into the base game, without spending any money.
A community lot video would be really cool. I bet there's some lore in the lots.
