    Thank you for another great episode again! I selfishly hope Corinne will knit the Burra from My Fair Isle journey as it is also in my winter plans 😉 I always enjoy Rachel's postcards so very much, it was amazing to see the photos of some of the extant garments.

    Thank you so much for the podcast! Rachel's pictures and sheep were a real bright spot on an otherwise really horrible week. I was in Reykjavík this week, and I think I bought a lifetime supply of Lopi, and even saw some Icelandic sheep on the side of the road! I don't know if they could hear me, but I made sure to thank them for the yarn.

    Another great shop cast. I think I have all of my gift knitting complete. I usually work on gifts in the summer as smaller projects are great in the hot weather. Thanks so much for mentioning the PBS program about Scotland. My husband and I just finished watching it as we were able to stream it thru PBS Passport. One of the perks of being PBS members. It was a wonderful show, and your sponsorship is greatly appreciated. Scotland has been on our list of places to visit for quite a while, and it is now at the top of our list!
    Now back to watching the rest of your podcast! I'm sure plenty of temptation is ahead!😉

    Hi! My Advent Box arrived today (Fri, Nov 8, 2024) & its large! Now I get to stare at it for the rest of Nov! Joe & I open them on even days, starting on Dec 2nd - Dec 24th, to end on Christmas Eve, or wait until the next morning - Christmas Day! At least I have 3+ weeks to figure it out!
    I love seeing all the patterns, yarns, FO's & even any WIP's!
    I am trying to finish my Marie Wallin "Seahouse Sweater" (Pullover). I am about 1/2 way done w/the 2nd sleeve. When that is done, I will check their length (I think the sleeves need to be a little longer) then add them to the body & start the colorwork yoke! I had to drop out of the Sweater KAL bcz in the middle of it I went to the ER (Emergency Room) on a Tues early afternoon, was admitted to the hospital & had surgery the next morning! Not what I had planned for that week & the next couple of weeks! I went home the day after the surgery, thank goodness! I am healing well. So I have been trying to finish my sweater bcz it has been cold here the last few days!
    Rachel - do the sheep sink in all that mud & get stuck??? Do they just bleat (or ??) for help? Do you need to dig them out? Can you help a stuck sheep by yourself or do you need help from your neighbors?? How does all this water & mud affect the sheep's hooves (feet, ???). I hope the iland dries out soon!!
    Sorry for the long comment!!

    • @barklandcroft3416
      @barklandcroft3416 2 месяца назад

      Hi Karen 👋 Goodness me, your trip to the ER and surgery sounds so scary and I hope you are well on the road to recovery now. Thankfully the water drained away over the next couple of days and the mud hasn't been too bad - there are a couple of places where it's still maybe ankle-deep, but the sheep avoid those parts. Luckily I've never had any get stuck (I hope I've not just jinxed it by saying that!). A couple of years ago one of my sheep, Grace, was very poorly and couldn't stand and she was right up far away from the house. She was too big and heavy for me to get in my wheelbarrow so my neighbour had to bring her down to the house in the front bucket of his tractor! 😂 There's still quite a lot of the ground that is soft but not muddy, so it's not too much of a problem for the sheep's feet/hooves 😀
