these are part of the King's military - they are active soldiers who serve around the world with the rest of the British Army. They do these ceremonial duties for a limited time and it's considered an honour to do so - then they go back to their active military service -
The last thing you want to do is grab the reigns of these horses! It is because of the type of bit they have in their mouths. Grabbing the reigns can really hurt their mouths. This can cause the horse to rear up. So do not touch the reigns and maybe not even the nose and mouth.
@@sueharrison8193 okay "reins" but don't let that take away from my post. I saw a horse yawning in one of these videos. The bit is doubled and solid steel attached to shanks. So it will hurt the horse when the reins are tugged and it can cause the horse to rear up.

I cringe at the little ones sticking their fingers near the horse's mouth. I had a young friend lose a finger by being bitten off by a horse. I've owned horses and using common sense can save you a world of grief.
Our serving men and women should not have to be treated like Disney characters, people have no respect, these horses and soldiers are on duty
The Tourons should not be allowed to touch the horse. Pics are okay as long as they don’t touch the horse.
I still don’t understand. Years ago you were not allowed near them. There should be boundaries now.
Don't people know that this sort of behavior is upsetting for the horse?
Grabbing the reins of a horse is like grabbing a steering wheel of a car (not being the driver) It is just another example how some tourists can't show respect and will do anything for a picture. Wonder if any of these idiots can't read?? Love the horses and mighty fine looking guards. Respect should be given!!!!
These tourists should show some Respect for the guards they are not there for your amusement
Sheer madness totally disrespectful well done to that guard .
Astounding guard and horse. Horse was good to the kiddies and the guard was quick to react and take no nonsense in performance of his duty. I think a lot of tourists don't understand the horse guards are on active duty, not props.
These horses and guardsmen must be fed up with these people.😡😡
No wonder the guard shouted and charged his horse at those people. There were too many people around them and the guard could see that it was stressing his horse out and he had probably had enough of it as well. You would think some of these people have never seen a horse before. Common sense would tell you to stand back and wait your turn
I think there should be a sign telling tourists its forbidden to touch the horse. How magnificent these animals are show some respect .
They can't read the other sign
They can't read the other sign
Stroking is fine. The very moment somebody grabs the reigns you’ll be shouted to get back!
As a young boy of pre-teen years there was a local common that people had grazing rights on so horses mainly would come and go I and a few friends played on this common for quite a few years always being warned by elders to steer clear of the animals on the common as you grow you start daring your mates to do stupid things I was challenged one day to feed what I saw @ the time to be a massive black horse I grabbed up a big handful of fresh green grass and stepped forward to feed this massive beast but my mates cheering spooked it and it charged forward through me I remember hitting the ground as the rear hoof stamped the ground millimeters from my head I learned a lesson that day as big as a creature of nature is they also experience fear Imagine being a fox during the Hunt season
They won't forget that anytime soon. It's amazing that it even deterred the Karens. I was expecting someone to throw a tantrum. Damn son.
Super trooper!
Serves them right poor horse being totally smothered
Think about how a guard, will even allow plebs to go near that horse says a whole lot about his ability to read intent and contempt. And the horse tells him who he can trust. 🐴🏴☠️
Horse just had enough of the turists whum were touching his nose. This isn't a petting zoo people. Peace God Bless the King
The horse did not like the girl trying to touch it on its poll and if you watch the Guard closely you can see him gather up his reins before charging. Also, does anyone know if the horses have a ranking? K-9s do in the US. And they're considered law enforcement officers so you can be charged if you hit one. Is it the same in the UK?
these are part of the King's military - they are active soldiers who serve around the world with the rest of the British Army. They do these ceremonial duties for a limited time and it's considered an honour to do so - then they go back to their active military service -
They should always have a cop stationed between the horses
Kings guard so good they must have some respect.
Don't touch the horse. He is working.
England shame on you. Subjecting these men/horses to this abuse. Put a barrier between the guards and the public.
Touch horses in your own country and see what happens
The last thing you want to do is grab the reigns of these horses! It is because of the type of bit they have in their mouths. Grabbing the reigns can really hurt their mouths. This can cause the horse to rear up. So do not touch the reigns and maybe not even the nose and mouth.
And what 'type of bit' is that, Mr Expert?
@@1977ajax it is called a shank bit. No one has any business pulling on the horses' reigns.
Its "reins"
@@sueharrison8193 okay "reins" but don't let that take away from my post. I saw a horse yawning in one of these videos. The bit is doubled and solid steel attached to shanks. So it will hurt the horse when the reins are tugged and it can cause the horse to rear up.
@@mollyjones4165 Of course no one should be tugging on the bit at all, whatever type it is - who said otherwise! Pretty sure you have never operated a cavalry bit of any type it in your life.
These fools think the horse is a toy,for there fun.
I wonder what he thinks about while he's sat there for hours.
How f#ing stupid people are.
They are only there for an hour at a time before they change the guards
This Guard is brilliant doesn't stand for any nonsense with his horse I wish they would make it law LEAVE THE HORSES ALONE stupid disrespectful tourists bet you wouldn't get away with it in their countries
I think the sign needs adding to.... 'and the guard has a long stabby thing too' lol hey - together they are practically a unicorn.
The sign should be enough for people to stay away, but yet they still want to rick getting bit or kicked by a animal that big.
Cop should have moved them on earlier
...and of course, there has to be some smart arse yank tourist sarcastically shouting out “thank you for your service”, after the guard has quite rightly chased off rude and disrespectful tourists. These guards are working armed forces of His Majesty the King - they are not some ridiculous Disney attraction.
I don't think the yank was being sarcastic. I think it was an acknowledgment that the Guard and his mount were serving their king and country. It is a phrase frequently heard in the USA directed to a soldier as a sign of respect.
The kids with dirty hands on his nostrils… The guard had enough!!!!!!
No need to touch the horse or the reins. Take a quick photo and move away. They are working. Over petting will irritate them also.
1:52 anyone else see the light flickering in the window ( pause and look carefully at each window! In the shot)😱 xx
I noticed. Yes.
3.32. "WELL DONE" to this guard! FINALLY!!!!!!! It should not be alowed to tatch the horses. Keep your distance!!!!!!
