I stride into the tavern, my face half-hidden under the black cloak I wear, which does not conceal my scars or my menacing gaze that chills all who meet it, and speaks of a past of grim tragedy and a promise of vengeance to all evildoers. I walk purposefully towards a corner of the tavern where nobody can sneak behind me, take a seat, and wait for somebody to ask me about my five-page backstory.
Upon your entry I cringe, nudge the half orc next to me and state, loud enough for everyone to heard “another edge lord”. He laughs, the tavern laughs. You take 2D6 humiliation damage.
I slide my blade gently against your neck and whisper in your ear, "I can fit 7 tarantulas in my mouth at once"...while gently caressing your ear with my free hand.
*Spits a huge, disgusting ball of saliva to the dirty, wooden floorboards.* "Pisspots, all'uv 'em. They should go back to their beloved, "beautiful" cities in the woods, they should."
Many years ago during a D&D game, someone called an Elf character a leaf eaten something offensive. I never heard the last part of what he said. Anyway, they got into a fight and the Elf killed the other character. Last char fight I ever seen in a game. I don't allow them at my table
(From the perspective of a curious modern day traveler/d&d player and now inspired by a pirate themed ARG i'm in) ”darn it!” I called from my room that was now shrouded in shadows due to a storm that knocked out the power, “well-“ I sighed, “might as well explore the forest.” As I walked I could have sworn I heard the faint chatter of a crowd of people, little did I know this would be the start of a new adventure Chapter 1 As I walked deeper into the forest the chatter became more prominent but I couldn’t * quite * pinpoint where it was coming from, I tilted me ear down into an old cave only to realize that’s where the chatter was, “huh” I said as I walked down the stone carved stairwell down to a beautiful old tavern fully furnished and everything, it felt like i had found a portal to an entirely different universe. "hello traveler!" i heard someone call from behind me which made me jump, "welcome to the four scarecrows tavern, a safe harbor for misfits, wanderers, and adventurers alike." when i had turned around all i saw was an old scarecrow leaned up on the back counter by the bar "wait where-" i started to say before the voice snorted and laughed at me "you're looking at where the voice is coming from if that's what you were going to ask about" i smirked as he gave me clues about his name and said he'd only take my order if i guessed correctly (which i had fairly easily but then had to guess his name from the first letters of the answers given, which was Cornelius) "you're a smart cookie" he said snickering to himself "what can i get you this evening?"
As usual dude, awesome.👍😊 But I do agree with th. Fol, add a few more minor detailed bg sounds. But even still, your ambiances are realistic and impressive.
that's again a very nice one! 👍 I would have expected a bit more sounds of cutlery, chairs slipping over the floor and may be sounds of games (craps or such stuff) or even a burp (at least in a distance ;-)
"I'm sitting at a table enjoying the main course from the head chef at the best Pub in this City. Tomorrow I must set off on my journey. So I've taken a room on the second floor of this pub. I love the warm architecture, very red and brown. Quite old, medieval architecture with lots of details on the walls. The countless decorations make me feel at home in Rigehra. I can't wait to go back one day. But for now I'm in Leavio. The hubbub of the world in the pub soothes me more and more. I feel myself leaving. I feel tired. The noises are getting farther and farther away. And as my eyelids gently close, I smile inwardly, recognizing how lucky I am to be living these unique moments in this warm pub. But it won't last long. Just then, a door slamming stopped the hubbub dead in its tracks...
"HEY!" the pub-keep said glaring at the strange figure as they stood glaring back at them- "watch the door will ya?!" the creatures gaze lightened as it let out a chortle with various snorts and squeaks, "hah!" they sucked in a breath and sighed, "my bad, it seemed to have been stuck- so i had to use my feet" they snorted again and let out a hearty laugh at their own joke, "what can i get for you?" they said with a smile realizing that the creature wasn't as much of a threat as they thought (although they were still on edge), "two ales please, one for me and one for the human at the table there" they point to the traveler sitting at a table alone, "very well, anything else?" the creature let out a snort and smiled, revealing 2 rows of sharp teeth, "maybe a quest or two- i'm bored of questing alone" (side note/author's notes, the creature is a rouge dragonborn mole hybrid thus why they snort sometimes due to their upturned nose)
Yes they sound quite similar, but the sound quality is much higher here and I corrected some details / added a few sounds. Let's say it's a good alternative if you got several inns in your game and want some diversity. Thanks for the comment Bob^2
My companion and I cannot wait to leave the noisy interior, but we dutifully hypnotize patrons into telling us their sensitive information once we get them outside. Usually the more obnoxious ones follow our orders to do dangerous things after giving us their valuables while we allow the more likable ones to go about their businesses. We record our important data in wax tablets on the spot before copying them on scrolls with fine nib pens in our coded language by the light of external lanterns that burn spirit and vampire oil infused candles. Unfortunately for some, murderers, bandits, and vampires eagerly wait for them in the dark alleys that they stumble into as the moon hides behind clouds. After finishing the missions that involve traffickers, we will seek to make the alleys safer at night by clearing them of vampires and criminals. Automatically, we apply vampire oil to our torches and silver weapons and apply hemorrhaging oil to our other weapons. By the light of a lamp that burns vampire oil and insectoid oil in a dark alley, we prepare flashbangs, psychedelic bombs, and poison bombs as well as potions that grant night vision and turn our blood into poison for those who drink it.
Oh how I wish I could live in a more simple time. More humble. More wholesome. What was over the horizon was unknown and as the sunset beasts would emerge from the dark. Where fire and songs warmed our hearts on cold stormy nights. Heroes and villians wielding steel covered in chainmail. Hunters out scouting the unknown coming back with great stories to tell the children. I feel as if I have lived it 1000 times and yet....I would trade anything to live a short life of adventure rather than a long life of perpetual suffering. The mystique of life is lost to us all....
The people in those times didn't enjoy it. Instead, they yearned for a simpler, more wholesome time. And they certainly didn't feel more mystique than we do unless it was through mythology and religion

Hello Michael, I wanted to ask you if it would be possible to use this track in one of my upcoming releases. I want to use it as background ambience. I will, of course, credit you with a link to your RUclips channel + name in the description. Regards, Fabi from Rúnfell
Hello Fabi, Thanks for asking. Can you explain in details and by email what you want to do with it please ? I don't get if you plan to make a commercial use of it or not. Also emails are a bit more professional and have a legal value, unlike RUclips comments :) Thank you for your understanding Michael
Argyle, having once more found himself in a tavern, for business, stays too long for pleasure! Enjoyed by company's coin and cards, this is a much needed derailment. "Mouseling! My dwarf comrade wants an ale, the dragonborn a jug! The guard a shotglass of the house stuff, and for me a mug of Blood!" If you read this until the end, you gain +1D8 Bardic inspiration to your next Skill check or Saving Throw during your next game.
Why does the title "Crowded Tavern" not go away after the beginning? Why is it up there the whole time? It ruins the visual aspect of the ambiance. Just make it black screen if you are going to do that. Don't tease is with the promise of a pleasant visual that we never get to enjoy.
It's what I did at the beginning. My newer videos don't have that. However, I don't tease shit. I make ambiences made to be played in the background. Never thought people would stare at their screen.

You know I cannot tolerate that right? Drowsy right now, but you just wait.

Did you use some clips from Critical Role? I'm sure I heard them talking, and laughing
No, this would be a copyright infringement.
