i'm an arsenal fan and i agree. same with the season before. I think it's laughable that all the other big six fans expect arsenal to not get better next year. battling top four means lots of dropped points. getting in the 80's means minor hiccups and thats a big jump. another jump which arsenal have to make is to get 90s which is almost being perfect. this transfer window is key

2 things can be true simultaneously:
    1. Arsenal overachieved this season based on preseason expectations and made legitimate progress to suggest they will contend in the future.
    2. They BOTTLED an 8 pt lead entirely on their own and showed mental weakness in the run in once again.

I'm not even joking when I say that Liverpool are two quality midfielders and a defender away from doing a title charge next season. I'd still put City as favourites for fairly obvious reasons but look at how Liverpool bounced back from their disastrous injury crisis season to nearly completing a quadruple last year. They're certainly much closer to a league title than Arsenal (still can't cope with the pressure) and United (still in the early stages of a long term rebuild)

That’s not even a close comparison though, at the end of the season a better comparison would be Liverpool 13-14 vs this arsenal team and I’d still give that Liverpool team the edge because of the players they had. If we’re saying saka is arsenals current best player, he was the equivalent of sterling at the time. Arsenal dont have gerrard, Suarez or Sturridge playing at immensely high levels. This arsenal team overachieved, so that’s why I think they should be applauded rather than mocked.
But the comparisons between this arsenal team vs any of liverpools title challenging teams under klopp are completely void. They’d blow this arsenal team out the water, same way city did this season, because they were as good as this city team. The quality difference was immense. The squad was already thin and then injuries happened and well, we're up against a stacked City squad. For me, it's obviously frustrating as a fan because of how great this season has been and a title win would have just capped it off beautifully but this is a young team that haven't been in this position before against a City team that has been there and that is very much a finished product. But I'm not worried about the future. Everyone always says every other team will improve except for Arsenal, but look at our progress.

They all struggled & took time to adjust in their 1st season playing under Pep! Ntm, Kalvin dealt with injuries throughout this season. It's a process to break into the Manchester City 1st team. Last season finished on 65 points ish so they made 20 points gain on that with a good 11. Bhavs point is true with about 4 versatile signings they can definitely build on that further it’s a young team. All depends on recruitment and budget.
I personally think next season Chelsea won’t make it higher than 5th & united won’t progress as people are expecting. Only Liverpool have the capability of making that leap once more.
Either way City is winning it again & everyone else is fighting for second place. Arsenal should prioritise cups and they’ll acc win 1 or 2. Especially if they get on a favourable draw in the ucl like the Italian sides anything is possible lmao.

People can say it's a mental thing but one of the biggest factors on mental state is exhaustion, and I believe we were physically and mentally exhausted due to playing the same XI week in week out for months.
The losses of Saliba and Tomiyasu in the same fucking game were comically brutal.
And the same thing happened last year where during the stretch run we lost Tierney, Tomiyasu, Partey AND Ben White.
Until we can find a way to rotate properly and keep our whole squad fit and firing into the last two months of the season, this will keep happening. But I think we will address it this summer and be ready to go for next year. I have faith in Mikel and the team.

Tactically pep is constantly being forced to evolve and even learn from his diciples / but none of them have ever had wat he has had at city / if klopp were to get the sack and find himself at newcastle with a blank check and a 6 year contract / i promise you pep will be sweating / if boehly can find a manager bigger than all the superstars he hopes to bring in / if psg get zidane and his stars actually defend and organize for him / pep will be sweating / newcastle might get nagelsmen and bring in another progressive pressing manager with real money and fresh ideas into the occasion too

Mate....comparing United to Arsenal, at this moment in time, is an insult to Arsenal and a compliment to United. United shouldn't be in that conversation, this is Ten Hag's 1st season in charge and Arteta's 4th. You should be challenging for the title, United should be challenging for the top 4. For a brief period though, we were being mentioned as contenders but that was back in February. Being in the running in February doesn't matter nearly as much as it does in May. Our form suffered as we fell away just as Arsenal's did. We'll take finishing in the top 4, with a trophy and possibly 2 and in August, we start again.

Yes they have been good this season, but that doesnt mean they haven't bottled it just because they still overachieved. If you give a homeless person £1,000,000 and they are on the streets 2 days later, they fucked up.
