I love that song. It's the perfect wedding song. And I love your reactions. Morissette is certainly the most present PH artist in the internet and social media. She is being recognised internationally, and she is a great star in the Philippines. She is my favorite vocalist btw. But the most famous PH singer is probably Lea Salonga, the Broadway and Westend Queen, the original Kim in "Miss Saigon" and THE Eponine and Fantine in "Les Miserables", and who is the original singing voice of two Disney princesses: Jazmin from "Aladdin" and Mulan. biggest star question: morisette is phenomenal, but she is only one of a number of equally extraordinary singers who thrived in the philippine music industry since the 70s. if you want a deep dive into OPM vocalists, look up names like, gary valenciano, martin nievera, kuh ledesma, zsa zsa padilla, pops fernandez, sharon cuneta, jaya, basil valdez, regine velasquez, ogie alcasid, nina, lani misalucha, jo mari chan…. and of course, lea salonga… and a lot more and these are just the solo acts, bands contain great vocalists too. too many to name… filipino singing talent was once one of the world’s best-kept secret in world music.
Not only does she raise her own profile, she is an advocate for raising the profile of other young up and coming ARTISTS especially Bisaya language artists as this is her native language, she has her own label called UNDERDOG MUSIC, she recently did a collaboration with Australian singer GREG GOULD, a song called LOVE IT ALL OUT which is going under the radar, he literally hunted MORISSETTE down to do this duet as he wasnt going to do it with anyone else, its a brilliant duet 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️
