Brilliant review,, phenomenal whisky, appreciate your additional thoughts on other Campbeltown distilleries
🙏 thank you mate.
Which are your standouts?
Each is a standout in its own right, for me each expression takes me on a different journey, however in saying all that, the recent 15yo hazelburn and whisky sponge 60a deserve an honourable mention
Well said. The 15yo is a very very good Hazelburn.
Anything sponge usually takes you on a journey!
We tried 6 of the single cask 21s at the festival in 2022 - the UK release i think edged things - also contained Netherlands, USA, German, and a "world" release - great experience :)
That would’ve been quite a line up and fantastic experience!
We don’t get many single casks or the super limited releases sent to Aus so perhaps we were lucky with that one
Great review on the Longrow. Agreed that Kilkerran and Glen Scotia have some great releases. In the case of Glen Scotia I’ve only seen IB releases from SMWS in Australia, is it case of having to look in the UK and Europe for other IB Glen Scotia?
Cheers Gary!
For Australia we have had atleast 3 single casks available that were officially bottled. Yes smws, G&M and even a cadenhead come to mind. Surprisingly the OB single casks represented better value than most of the IBs! Possible some more on the way soon too 😊
The 20yo Glen Scotia from AWAS is awesome, I’m slowly working my way through a bottle. Thanks for the tips on the IBs, I’ll have to keep an eye out 🥃
That awas 20yo hang around for a while too!!
I was amazed that it didn’t sell out faster at that price. Really really funky and interesting dram isn’t it
Picked up the Glen Scotia Victoriana last year for $100.....from Liquorland!!!
@Justin Case, did you enjoy the Victoriana?
Longrow is Springbank.
Much like how Ledaig is Tobermory or Ballechin is Edradour
