Love your youtube channel mate, really great videos for people who want a sporty ride but also think about the practicality for family use. I am currently 21 years old and own a E36 Compact with 140hp which I plan to keep on as much as humanly possible due to the fact it's a really great daily driver, can fit 4 adults really comfortably, and even 5 in a pinch, while being a sporty driver focused car. My future wife will have no reason to say we need a more practical car for us and the children 😅 I hope I will grow up to be a cool dad like you some day! Keep up the great work ❤

I’ve just bought a 2017 540i x drive as my new (soon to be) dad car and I cannot tell you how much I love it. Perfect dad car if you ever wanted to drive something a bit less powerful than this 😂😂

I have a 530d M Sport Touring and I agree that quick estate BMWs are the perfect Dad cars.
Used to have a 520d M sport plus. Fast? No. Brilliant at everything? Yes.

I’m buying one next month as soon as my next pay comes in I will have my ideal deposit to put down! I’m expecting a girl in November so I sold my Z4 G29, but with this it ticks EVERY box a car can have, people don’t realise this is the ULTIMATE car. Fast, sporty, loud V8, great exterior, interior, practical, boot space, iconic M5 heritage and a great brand with great servicing - it’s definitely stretching my budget slightly but next year I won’t regret it! So looking forward to it. Thanks for getting your little girl in the review, it’s really help settle my doubts as I can imagine my little girl in there one day!

After much debate I came to the conclusion that a 5 series was the obvious choice for a Dad with 3 kids. However, I needed the touring for lugging DIY stuff about and doing circa 18K a year, reasonable fuel consumption was required, so went for the 530d. It’s got some ‘shove’ when you need it so I’m not too jealous (but maybe a little!) 10 years and 3 of them later I’m in no hurry to waiver, I’ll save the M5 for when I’ve finished the house! 👍

Hi Ben & girls👋 Another great video, you're absolutely on a roll! Epic Dad car this is, not the obvious SUV, subtle (by BMW's standard anyway!) plenty of room, plenty of poke and a decent looking car on the road. Enough styling que's for those "who know", to know... but for everyone else, it just looks like a 5 series, which has always been the point of an m5. Proper wolf in sheep's clothing. What do you think the chances are of getting a Multimac 4 seat in there?

On the power stats, I think the issue is that the numbers they quote should be achievable everywhere - so with poorer fuel, hotter air on a bad surface etc. Whereas on a track with 98 RON and nice cold oxygen-rich air it'll do a bit better.
Can you switch the passenger side airbag off in your F type? That’s interested thanks for sharing that 👍

Cool video. Personally I am not big fan of emotions comming only as a result of brutal acceleration. It forces you as an owner of a sleeper saloon to show how powerful beast you drive and there is often big point of aggression comming out as a result.
Btw Alfisti greet another Alfisti, so I understand what you are talking about when you drive an Aston. I have not noticed any other brands (except few UK model ones like LR Discovery and Alfa) doing so
M5 is the best family car you could buy. I have that Silverstone interior in my wife’s f90 so that isn’t the best for kids in the back, however the kids love the car. The kids seats don’t fit too well in my m5cs however due to the buckets. I have an m8 grancoupe also, that actually has more rear seat space than the f90.
That’s really interesting, I do hope in time to feature a M8… the styling is my kind of car 😎
the BMW M5 truly is something special. Way better value for the money compared to the Nissan GTR Nismo. Have you featured the M3 Touring (hatchback/wagon/estate) yet?
No I’ve done a M3 comp, I’ve yet to do any estates! Will be though 😎
I've had a nissan GTR, f90 M5 and both my young sons found them pretty boring to ride in.
I recently bought a new civic type r and they love it way more than the other two. They find it so so much more fun to ride in around country roads.
And I also find it is by far the best drivers car I've ever owned.
It's also a lot more practical than both the GTR and M5 and has way better seats.
I will get a type R on the channel… I’ve not featured many hot hatches yet!
My kids love my Golf R much more than the TRX , honestly I do too
To answer your question about BMW under estimating their car's horsepower and performance, BMW does this to make sure their vehicles meet their performance claims (no lawsuits).

Like the M3, the M5 is the "obvious" choice, but as you show here; it's the obvious choice for a good reason...
I'm fortunate to have a BMW that also has the rarest optional extra of working indicators fitted...
I'm not sure if '08 is modern enough to count, but I do give thumbs up to other cool cars in my 650i, recently gave a thumbs up to a guy in a 70's Mustang, which he returned.

What color is that? Also ive noticed that some owners and BMW put that trunk spoiler on the flat part of the trunk. It actually looks much better if you put it on the lip part of the trunk.

I cannot understand why BMW didn't produce a M5 Competition Touring from the get go and thus lose sales to Audi where people have bought an RS6 Avant. Only now are BMW looking to introduce a Touring version. I think they missed a trick because it's a fabulous car.
I believe that BMW underrates the horsepower to achieve "advertised" power even with really poor quality fuel. So, if you put high quality fuel in the car it will make much more power.

When you have children, you should have the BMW M3 COMPETITION TOURING instead. So you have plenty of cargo space, for a pram, among other things, and in the model you're testing, there won't be much room for anything else when you put the pram in. Know what I'm talking about when you have 4 children who are now adults is that Comibil or whatever you call them in England.
Will have to check how much space across there is in the back of the new M3 as the F80 is 2 child seats only
If only the average dad could afford a car costing more than about £15k without getting hocked up to the teeth with finance!
That's a video for you, dad cars that thrill for less than 15k, that won't cost more than 5k/Yr to fuel, tax and service on average 8-9k/Yr usage!

Unbelievable car thro so boring & dull . Definitely not special looking
