SATA Spray Gun Air Distribution Ring Remove and Refit

This video shows how to remove and refit the air distribution rings on a SATA 5000 however the same process is used for the 4000 and 3000.
Reasons to remove this part:
Removal of this part allows the user to clean behind it.
The distribution ring is designed to compress when the fluid tip is tightened. This ensures a good seal. However, over time they could leak.

Remove the air micrometer and check to make sure the seals are ok

It’s a spray gun wrench! If you buy a “new” spraygun it comes with!

Repair Refinish TV I have the same gun and I want to ask you. My sata 5000 rp digital leaks air thru the air cap without pulling the trigger. I already clean everything and I pulled every single part of the gun and still the same problem

@@slv_car_refinisher6864 you probably sorted it all ready but I had same problem. I replaced the air piston head. In between air piston and micrometer. It had worn a flat spot on it causing the leak

Yes air rings need replaced after removed because they bend comming out . not good
