    Dolphins are very smart and observant. It'd be cool if they could see a certain variety of land species they would normally never see, like a zoo for dolphins instead of humans. I wonder what would interest or possibly scare them.

      Reverandfatdave what if I tell you I don't think any tank is big enough for dolphins? It's my opinion. You have yours. Good day.

      exactly.

    • @alexisxmarie4238
      @alexisxmarie4238 7 лет назад

      scumbaguk They don’t stay in that tank their whole lives. SeaWorld eventually moves them to something bigger. It’s just a nursery for moms and babies.

    • @Crystal-rv5ys
      @Crystal-rv5ys 7 лет назад +2

      Reverandfatdave The problem with captive cetaceans is not the tank's size (even if larger is still better), but captivity itself.
      Not all animals can bloom in captivity. Most herbivore mammals (except elephants), birds or reptiles can ; but it's not the case with elephants, cetaceans and great apes. Their cognitive abilities make it close to impossible to care for them the way we would with "regular" species. They need constant stimulation, but even daily training sessions can't compare to their natural environment's challenges. Not to mention their culture is damaged by captivity, since pods are broken and members separated many, many times in a lifetime to avoid inbreeding (which barely occurs in the wild). Cetaceans, elephants and great apes are cultural beings, and taking their culture away from them is basically removing most of who they are and who they evolved to be.
      And before you ask or say : no, I am not just another "Blackfish" fan...I began studying the effects of captivity on cetaceans 15 years before Dawn Brancheau was killed, and I spent those 15 years desperately trying to raise awareness about cetaceans' captivity - without any result until "Blackfish" came out.

    Really worrying to see all the people on here that have suddenly got marine biology degrees after watching Blackfish.

    • @felipetahara
      @felipetahara 7 лет назад +11

      you dont have to get a biology degree to understand that wild animals should be free. are you a video editor or designer to get this channel?

    • @Theme-Park-Kingdom
      @Theme-Park-Kingdom 7 лет назад +12

      Many biologists and veterinarians would disagree with you. It is not always possible to release animals into the wild, if these Dolphins were released they would die. They do not know how to hunt, how to ingegrate into a pod and their immune systems are too weak to handle all the foreign bacteria in the oceans.

    • @felipetahara
      @felipetahara 7 лет назад +9

      "Not always" exactly. Also there is another option: sanctuaries. Anyway, the point is that Sea World should stop breeding more animals. period.

      How else are we going to learn about animals, their needs, the harm we may or may not be putting them in? You think if you just watch them through binoculars you'll figure it out? come on. use what little bit of common sense your brain should have. We treat animals bad in some cases. But most of the big reserves do quite well with keeping them healthy. And the fun they have, we also have watching and learning.

    • @AveryCreates
      @AveryCreates 7 лет назад +2

      David Allen we do not learn about animals and their natural behavior in captivity...because animals in captivity can't behave the same way in the wild. That's what field researchers and biologists do. Nobody goes to the zoo to study animals.

    • @Theme-Park-Kingdom
      @Theme-Park-Kingdom 7 лет назад +2

      I can't even have a debate with someome who denies that zoos & aquariums play a role in animal research. Do you know, for example, how echolocation was first discovered?
