Great collection Cornelia!! I agree! So many uses for each brush, no rules!! I agree...I can NOT live without my Mac 239...best lay down brush hands down! Loved this! xo Kristin
Definitely!!! No other brand has ever managed to come out with a similar one ... although Hakuhodo has one that is slightly smaller, otherwise pretty much the same and CHEAPER !! xo Cornelia
Love this video Cornelia! Wish I would've seen it before I started my own brush collection. Have a bunch of M.A.C brushes just laying around cause I didnt really know witch ones to go for to begin with.
Oh yes, me too. But I did collect them years ago. I mostly use only the ones I mention in my favourites. Even though Mac brushes are good and if I need a brush quickly this would be my go to brand I do prefer my Japanese brushes. Ever since I got my first one I was hooked :-)) xo Cornelia
Oh I didn't know someone else made them before. I just assumed it was hakuhodo. good to know!! Thanks for the info!! It's sad that they don't make the mac brushes as good as theirs. I have s few hakuhodo brushes and they are amazing!!
I agree mac brushes are a great mid range brand and reasonably affordable. I have almost all the brushes you have except the half fiber ones. I didn't think I wld use those much. But now that I too have ventured out of mac, "like purchasing hakuhodo brushes. I find my mac face brushes to be kind if scratchy. Mainly the 129 and the 150 brushes are scratchy:( However the May 138 brush is my favorite because it's still soft and not scratchy at all. I would love to see you hakuhodo collection next or an updated one if you can. Thanks for sharing:)
Tell me about it ... I don't really use my duo fibre brushes anymore ... I only got them because some years ago everybody loved them for foundation!!! Yes, the Japanese makeup brushes made us very picky especially when it comes to face brushes. There is a huge difference!!! xo Cornelia P.S. I have a Hakuhodo brush video on my channel showing all the brushes I have, it is from last year, but I have not gotten any more since.
Hi Linda ... hehe!!! Ever since I got my first Japanese brush I don't want to use any other brushes anymore. Next on my list are some Goss brushes. I hope I will be able to look at them at Imats London :-)) xo Cornelia
Uhhh, Melissa ... if you want/need some brushes I highly recommend to check out the Hakuhodo J Series. The eye brushes especially are partly even cheaper than Mac brushes!!! Let me know if you ever need advice on any of the Japanese brushes, I am happy to help :-))) xo Cornelia
Great review. I agree the Mac brushes are very good and there are a couple HG's. Recenty I treated myself to all of the Wayne Goss brushes and I just love them. Much softer and better made. Just a pleasure to work with. Do you plan on trying any Godd brushes?
Definitely!! Japanese brushes are simply in a different league. Congrats on the WG brushes!! I don't own any yet (I might get some at Imats London if they sell them there), but I am sure they are beautiful brushes!! xo Cornelia
Very informative video! I love brushes as well. I have mostly MAC. I have your first choice in the replacement category in a sigma brush. Funny I don't use it. Now I think I will reach for it and give it a go. I usually reach for my Goss brush in that shape. Thanks for the video!!
Hmmm, having tried Japanese brushes you will not be happy anymore with Mac haha. Goss brushes are definitely on my list of brushes I want !! (my never-ending list) xo Cornelia
Mac brushes are ok for the reasons I mention in this video, but have a look at the Hakuhodo J Series brushes. Especially the eye brushes are fantastic and I think even a bit cheaper than Mac eye brushes !!! Thanks Melissa :-)) xo Cornelia
I have the 224,217,221,275,213,239,215 and 228 eyeshadow brushes but for some reason my 215 bristles turned like a greyish color and i don't know why?the only face mac brushes i have are the 195 concealer brush and the 150 powder brush, i regret buying the 150 it sheds like crazy and when i use it to put on powder i have to pick out the tiny bristles that falls off onto my face! Ughhh..lol i do not recommended that brush 👎 but i really want to know why my 215 bristles turned grey!
Blondelle DLXE Glad to have helped!!! Have you heard of Japanese brushes yet??? Before investing your money in MAC brushes I would highly recommend to check them out. They are so much better in quality and some of them are even cheaper than Mac brushes :-)) xo Cornelia
Hmmm, I guess I find all the Mac face brushes slightly scratchy ... but I am very spoilt when it comes to makeup brushes with my Hakuhodo and Chikuhodo brushes. They are soft as silk. The Mac Kabukis I find are not scratchy at all :-)) xo Cornelia
Will Abreu I am not sure if Hakuhodo used to make MAC brushes, but now they are not made by Hakuhodo any longer. A lot of my brushes say made in China. Mac brushes used to be of better quality than they are now unfortunately. That is why I decided to switch to Japanese brushes :-)
Hi. I have this 215 brush from last six months. I bought it online but since then i havent used it even once. Can u suggest what all ways its can be used. Thnks.
The 215 is a brush I use mainly to apply eyeshadow all over the lid. it could possibly used also for smudging out liner because it is pretty dense. Or try using it underneath the brows to highlight your brow bone. Pull it out and use it :) hope this helps. Xo Cornelia
Thnks. I am so used to 217 and 239(i hope m wrtng the crct numbers) for eyeshadow. But using it for smudging the liner is a great suggestion. Thnks so much. Ur videos are so organised. Grt wrk.
This is The Best MAC brush video EVER!!!
Aww, thanks a lot!! Glad you liked it!! ox Cornelia

Loved the video Cornelia! : ) Xo!
How do you clean your brushes please?
very informative thank u
Very helpful, thank you. I learned a lot!
Thanks!!!! So great to hear it was helpful!! xo Cornelia
I like my 129. I find it applies blush really well and is a multi purpose brush, although it's a bit scratchy. Do you find the 138 scratchy at all?
Hmmm, I guess I find all the Mac face brushes slightly scratchy ... but I am very spoilt when it comes to makeup brushes with my Hakuhodo and Chikuhodo brushes. They are soft as silk. The Mac Kabukis I find are not scratchy at all :-)) xo Cornelia
Your hair is gorgeous
Thanks
Hakudo makes MAC brushes but the brushes they make for themselves and much much better.
Excellent video! I'm still doing my Hakuhodo research, though! :-)
Definitely a better choice!!! xo Cornelia

I got a 32 piece makeup brushes from Mac for 28 dollars on ebay
yannibel rodriguez Oh be careful with purchasing Mac on ebay!!! 99% out of the time when it looks too good to be true it is fake.
Overpriced crap.
