To keep end of wire strands from coming unraveled when you need to service a broken top/bottom plate from a crash, I recommend for wire ends aluminum swage sleeve wire rope crimp clamps.
Daniel, I made one of these larger dampeners with the same methods as the smaller ones (squish the wire between 2 plates). I used 4 plates instead of 2, and there was no flex whatsoever. I used .098' Lexan plastic, but I'd imagine that 4 carbon plates would be even better.
Have you tested any of your dampening setups for audio? I'm looking for a simple dampening solution for underneath a usb mic and or zoom recorder... mainly for low frequency thumps and bumps. Just wondering in what frequency range this kind of dampener would be effective for.
Awesome ! I had ordered a plastic version from another fella on ebay yesterday. Sure wish I had seen yours first ! I have bookmarked your Status Production page and if needed I will definitely be ordering from you Daniel. Is it ok for me to post your vibration dampener around ?
you can make 2 plates on each side glued with epoxy . and up the price a bit . giving it the pro look and specs . the screws can take it . as seen here tere is thread left
Hi! Can I ask You something?I have motorcycle, and I wanna use camera with it.But camera have vibrations and footages are shaken.so I need vibration dampener.will be this ok?I have camera Sony HDR AS20.thx
I guess those are for damping low amplitude/High frequency vibration on a quad. Any ideas for something to dampen High amplitude/low frequency vibration on a single cylinder petrol engine??
What is the length of the wire rope pls say I too made that at home with wooden plats still Iam getting little jello effect don't know weather its ridge along the write rope

What is the thickness of the wire for wire rope isolator?
Hi Daniel... I ordered one of your units ... Can you please post the dimensions of it so I can come up with a mounting plan for it while I am wanting for it to arrived. Also the dimentions between the top and bottom assuming all the wire is used.
You can use carbon tubes to make them look pretty. If I used carbon thick enough to not flex, the plate would have to be around 3mm. That would raise the price a lot.
if your selling these why not double the thickness of the carbon rather than start adding popsicle sticks....... with respect if you found a flaw the product aint ready for sale. the idea works well and I have been using wire cable dampeners on mich larger rigs. they are very tuneable but you need all the vibration tuning in the cable. Why dont you try aluminium plates aswell. they have worked well for me and you can tap the metal directly using one fixing and a channel resess in the metal plate to recieve the cable. best of luck ...like your solutions just need final touches beffore offering for sale. Ilke what you do with the gear and have come to similar conclusions with FS700 and alike, as far as aerial goes. in the UK if we stay under 7kgs I can operate in congested airspace so the smaller the better.gh4, a6000, FZ1000...etc have a look at the aluminium idea it wa were I ended up. also tak a peak at @the black drone' its made in sweden and has 12rotors and uses their own cable dampener.....see what you think?
Nice Daniel, I work at that agency on your workbench sticker and your videos still teach me something I didn't know. Thank you!
You wouldn't need the Popsicle sticks if you'd simply made the top and bottom a square.... Simpler to make and stronger. Thanks for posting the video!
It's hilarious what "solutions" rc modelers come up with. And this is a real product!

That name seems a bit long. I'd just call them ferrules.
Where do you get your carbon cut? I want to do some drone parts.

Wouldn't using thread lock on the nuts be another safe thing to do as well?

Funciona na perfeição, melhor do que comprei no ebay
obrigado
are you still selling the camera dampener mounts?
is this any good with the mobius?
cool stuff man
Have you tried this with piano wire? This is kinda similar design to David Windestål's Tricopter camera rig :)
Hi! Do you recommend that for a camera in the upright (mounted on top of it) position?
try turning the cables so they bend inward and the wrope feeds through the clamps outward. that may work to shrink the size of Tha apparatus.
What is that test machine in 8:16? I like it. Would you make a video on it and explain what is it?

still selling those?
Daniel, I ordered this dampener. Will it support the weight of my GoPro and RC timer gimbal (357 grams)?
Yes

Thanks Daniel. You are very innovative and I enjoy your videos.

What is the thickness of the wire for wire rope isolator?
Hi Daniel. Do you know when these will be in stock? I want one for my latest quad build
Within a month
Thanks Daniel
Was just wondering that what's the thickness of this wire rope cables
you removed 2 strands from the 2.5 cable and added Popsicle sticks.. then i should just get a 2mm cable and thicker carbon instead?
And how many mm of cable i need for a reflex?
Hi Daniel... I ordered one of your units ... Can you please post the dimensions of it so I can come up with a mounting plan for it while I am wanting for it to arrived. Also the dimentions between the top and bottom assuming all the wire is used.
The holes are 22mm apart and plates are 115mmx115mm
If all the wire is used its about 40cm
Do you plan to release thicker carbon plates so we don't need to make your great looking product ugly with popsicle sticks?
You can use carbon tubes to make them look pretty. If I used carbon thick enough to not flex, the plate would have to be around 3mm. That would raise the price a lot.
Hi! Can this be mounted on a compression format?
Yes, it works even better like this
rctestflight I see thanks for the reply
the hot glue guy
Can you give the dimensions
Seems not much point to it if you have to modify the product so much

I will on the next batch, but the price will also go way up
