You know the Mariners cooked in the off-season when the boys are talking about food for half the podcast
So true 🤣
The team’s acting like 2025’s a write-off and they’re waiting for prospects to mature.
“It is what it is.”
At first I read that as "waiting for portfolios to mature" lol
I'm going to be brutally honest. This team will not make the playoffs and will never make the series until something changes. They have spent the least amount of money in the last 3 years. This has done the bare minimum and has got no return from it
They need a new owner
I wish that Stanton had the courage to stand before the fanbase and answer questions. But he doesn't. He will just throw Jerry under the bus if things go south.
All I hear is , "if's" and "hopes".
If everyone returns to health and if the two Mitches turn back the clock to when they could hit, and if Robles wasn't a one year wonder, and if Crawford can return to his career high two years ago, and if the first base platoon can be adequate, and if someone can step up at second base, and if, and if, and if...then hopefully we won't be the 75-80 win team we probably are and definitely are on paper.
This is just sad....
True. And I will say that when T-Mobile is your home park you are always going to be dealing with "ifs."
Problem is Julio and Cal need at least a 3rd great position player to chance of making playoffs. Especially when Julio doesn’t always live up to it. Look at the Angels never could do anything with Trout and Ohtani.
This Mariners never fail to disappoint!
So we are relying on bounce back for JP, Polanco, Moore, Cal's 210 average, the Mitch's. So 6 bounce back players that a sound plan?
Don't forget about jrod and randy!!!
Don't forget about Matt Brash & Gregory Santos!
and assuming that the pitchers all will stay healthy and not miss any significant time.
@@zackbleecker7630 Thanks for the comment. Yes that is a lot of bounce backs and if we lose any pitchers we are sunk
As long as they can stay healthy were going to the world series 😂
Even with this team's "budgetary restrictions", I'd hope they can get a better lefty reliever. That, and the Solano & Polo signings aren't bad moves in a vacuum... but they're just floor raisers. Contenders make moves to raise their ceiling. Fans don't seem to realize just how much went our way last year (heathy rotation, viable full-season D-Mo, Robles resurgence, Luke Raley's career year, Cal playing over 150 games). Be as hopeful for the 5+ bouncebacks this team needs to contend as you want, but don't expect all of the things we were lucky on to keep holding up for another year too.
A Donovan Solami Sandwich sounds like it slaps. I don't even eat meat, and I might still want to get one (and vicariously enjoy my wife eating or something). Also, I'm thinking swiss and/or cheddar for the cheese (perhaps pepper jack if it is warmed/grilled)... Good stuff, thanks!
I remember when our old friend kevin mathers said the goal was to win 82 to 85 games and hopefully sneak into the playoffs. lol they don’t care to be any better, so don’t expect anything.
Lousy off season but even so I still think the Mariners actually do got a shot at winning the World Series in 2025.
Granted its going to take a LOT
of things going right to even get
to the playoffs and we are gonna
need to see players not just bounce back but have career high seasons ESPECIALLY Julio.
But also we need Garver to be
the Garver we paid for even if
he is "just" back up catcher
he still needs to hit 20 bombs
with Cal hitting around 35.
Nobody in the line up should have less than 15 homers.
Including DMo.
We are gonna need an extra dose
of Mariner Moe Mentum to catapult into the playoffs and then once there shut down the opposition with our pitching.
Yes my expectations are very
unrealistic but thats what we
are going to need to win.
D-Mo's ISO has actually been higher than Julio's for the last two seasons lol
I'm in agreement with Colton... it's either Gunnar Henderson or bust.
To me, Jerry/Justin are looking at the last 6 weeks of the season when Dan/Edgar took over and think that’s the real offense. They’re putting the faults of team on Scott, DeHart and Brant Brown.
It’s an unwise gamble. They did nothing to improve their offense from what it was and may lose their jobs over it
I honestly hate being a Mariners fan.
Episode 27 of asking for "The Brandon Drury episode"
Please? I'll ask nicely
Well you never know what happens but my thoughts are that this team will regress. And then its rebuild. Cal will want out and i dont blame him
How about a Randy Kan (honey bucket) for this stinker of an off-season???
Seriously? Lol thats your first thought for HORNDOG!!! lmao
This ownership and front office are a complete joke.
_bruh, how could you leave a Nuke Raley launch coaster ride out of Luke Raley Land_
The most uninspiring offseason in the Dipoto era which is saying a lot
Nico Hoerner had offseason surgery and may miss start of season
Randy candy o’s. Peach o rings
Trade with the White Sox! Go get LRJ for a prospect that’s comparable to Edwin Arroyo like Michael Arroyo perhaps. I would say package a deal together with Michael Arroyo, Harry Ford and Emerson Hancock for Luis Roberts and Andrew Vaughn.
People talk about now Polanco is fixed but last year why didn't the M's do a physical on Polanco in order to approve the trade. This is nothing more than a cheap choice just like usual
What? Obviously they did a physical before approving the trade…
Literally every team does that for every player they trade for or offer a contract to including the Mariners.
Polanco was always an injury risk. He was always a cheap choice. That's why Jerry was able to give away so little for him (if anything, Minnesota got even bigger injury risks in return).
Joe is a dog man a multiple dog man? The heavens open up in the rejoice of the angels do!! You should see the new dogman movie in the theaters oh what joy has been spilled upon me!
dipo wanted too much for Castillo.
If our prospects are so good, why is it that all I ever hear from Mariner fans is "trade for this team's young star"? If your prospect needs to simmer in the minors for 6 years, they are not a top prospect and their contract isn't worth booty cheeks to any other team.
Polo
We have J-rod, Raleigh, Robles, Arozarrena, Crawford, Garver, and polo all are healthy and with Edgar's tutelage, the best rotation, not to mention Brash, Santos, and Munoz back end of the bullpen Garver will have a 120 WRC+ bounce back and Tyler Locklear will make the opening day roster a line-up edgar clones remember what they did when he took over IT'S ARE YEAR LOL
The Orioles were never going to trade Jordan Westburg, the Phillies are asking for the moon for Bohm (hint: he's not worth it), and not trading Castillo for Casas and Yoshida isn't a failure, it's smart baseball. Sure you can be "Mariners suck bc they didn't get Soto," but not sure what they were supposed to have done. If a Hoerner+ for Castillo comes together, it would be well within the budget, my guess is that no matter what the Cubs ask for Hoerner is unreasonable.
First....
