Where do the tea leaves go?

Looks like the filters are far too big to keep the leaves in the tea sets, you would have to brew the tea in a pot and just pour it into these sets. Clearly a waste of time, but this is supposed to be more for show than actually useful, I assume. That being said, if you really wanted, I'm sure you could find some Tea Infusers small enough to fit in some of these if you wanted it to be functionally useful on top of just looking cool.

I'd say it depends on the tea used. A lot of western loose leaf tea that is commodity tea would certainly pass through, but many eastern teas and premium western teas wouild certainly be large enough to be stopped.
I have the same issues with a lot of my very 100+ year old teapots, they were designed for larger leaf tea that is nowerdays premium.
