I'll put it this way. The music industy has turned into McDonald's. They serve you low quality and people eat it just to eat it. Beyoncé refuses. She is serving us 5 Star gourmet carefully crafted experiences. Some of y'all palettes are basic and that's ok, but let us enjoy our decadent helping over at the Renaissance.

Virgo's Groove lies easily in the top 5 best song pf her career. It is a constant progression from beginning to end, truly the definition of and sonorous orgasm at the end. I'd even say Virgo's Groove and Rocket (from the BEYONCÉ album) are sisters

That last part in #Heated is called chanting! It's commonly used in the ballroom culture to make a person go awff when they hit the floor 💯💯 you'll heard a little bit more of it in the beginning of "Pure/Honey"
She actually wrote the last part of Heated. The album is dedicated to her gay uncle Johnny who introduced her to house music. He used to style her. The dress she is talking about is her prom dress.

Drake tried to “straight male”-ize dance and vogue music, which was mistake number one. He also just didn’t have the producers or the ambition or the vocals to pull it off.

Beyoncé definitely had a Prince influence as well on this album with it’s experimental vibe as well as the tracks blending into each other. Especially the layered vocals and sexual word play!

I’ve never thought “oh Beyoncé writes her own music”. Who cares? MJ had writers. You can’t make some of the most influential songs without industry collaboration
MJ still wrote most of his songs and 90% of his hits tho, and he’s literally in the songwriter hall of fame, so wrong comparison. However, I agree, the beauty of a song resides in the power of the delivery. And Bey knows how to deliver
Beyoncé has written songs. A lot of her earlier stuff including destiny’s child songs she wrote. She can do it if she wants too but she’s such a perfectionist she probably doesn’t feel like she can write to a standard that she wants to meet at this point in her career. Who knows.
She delivers where other artists that do write can’t, such as delivery and live performances (singing amazingly live whilst dancing nonstop). Michael Jackson was a rare breed that could do it all.

We're entering the 4th week and this album Renaissance is still has me on chokehold. 😭 I can't do a ranking. There's no BAD song. All top tier masterpieces or good / decent songs ugh. I've not stopped listening the moment it has dropped.

All the RUclips and social media videos don't even come close or compare to what the energy, vibe and one-in-a-lifetime experience of being at Beyonce's live concert. There's nothing like it on the planet. It's truly an out of body experience, one you will never forget. Period!!!

The sample at the beginning of Pure/Honey is Feels like by Mike Q which also samples Kevin Aviance Cunty which she samples in the middle. Very iconic Ballroom music.

A lot of the songs on here are a reference to ballroom culture in the black gay community so a lot of what she's saying on certain songs folks ain't gonna understand but the album is great! Different from what she's done in the past but that's what you do when you've been in the game as long as she has! ❤️ OH and I think for people criticizing the album they wanted a more mainstream commercial sound or hip-hop/R&B sound and because this album has so many different musical influences and sounds that people aren't familiar with they automatically dismiss it and say they don't like it, however because of your taste in music is so widely ranged you appreciate it obviously! Lol Great reaction Jack! ❤️ The album is really about paying tribute to ballroom and her Gay Uncle!

I can’t say this tops self-titled as my favorite Beyoncé album, at least not yet. Can’t even for sure say I prefer it over B’Day. But I can immediately say that it’s a solid, unique, unified work. It’s difficult to do disco or funk or vogue nowadays without making it corny or reductive (ahem-Drake-ahem). But Beyoncé made it sound fresh and sexy and risky and messy. I wasn’t even that hyped for this album. But yeah, she did that. It could have used a few less tracks though. My favs so far are probably: Alien Superstar, Cuff It, Summer Renaissance, America Has A Problem. Lastly, one thing about Jack is that he gonna find some way to throw in some shade about Jay-Z’s looks 😅.

No Drake didn't write alone (if he did) the lyrics of Heated, obviously. Uncle Jonny is Beyoncé's uncle and she's using some ballroom references which I don't think Drake is familiar with.

Loving this review! I wasn’t feeling it too much . I knew it would be different when I heard BMS. But I respect her wanting to do something different. She doesn’t need to prove anything, she just needs to do what she wants at this point in her career. I’m not a big pop/club music /house music person in general. But I bet people will love dancing to this and she knows. So will act 2 be a different album all together?
Also, that Austin powers song is Work Out. I love that song!
All Up in Your Mind definitely has that older Beyoncé feel and it’s honestly one of my favorites.
I got the whole album yesterday in France. She is talking a risk with those new vibes. But I happy she's still improving even if I prefer her former stuff. In that new album I love alien super star, pure/Honey and summer.
