Ohio State Limited. Most shots were of the eastbound afternnon train enroute to Cleveland and New York. The Budd RDC on the tail end was deadheading back to Cleveland. It came west from Cleveland to Cincinnati earlier in the day. There was no scheduled return trip for the RDC so it was towed back to Cleveland on the rear of the Ohio State Limited each day.
I live and grew up in Springfield in the 1950s and 1960s and this film brings my memories back to life of standing on the platform of the Big Four depot in Springfield watching train #16 come down the middle of Washington St. and into the depot . I never thought I'd see any films of this event so this is a special treat. Can you share the name of the person who originally shot this film?
@@RailroadMediaArchiveis there a way to contact him like through email or something. I run a railroad historical society in Springfield & London and would like to email him or something to find other films he may have or know of in the area.
Fascinating. The handsome Springfield station (with, alas, not a soul on the platform). I'm guessing this is the "Ohio State Express."

Spectacular shots, great evening lighting, good action.... all long gone now...
Amazing!

@@PennsylvaniaCentralDepot He passed away in 2009. That's why I digitized his films. I have no more films of his of London or Springfield.
@@RailroadMediaArchive i’ve never seen the video of London do you have a link?
@@PennsylvaniaCentralDepot As I said in my prior comment, I don't have any films taken in London by Wilson Jones.
Awesome Footage
We live here and that's the era and area we model in N-scale. Have been wanting to make a backdrop like that.
Why do some trains have an aRDC at the end.
Equipment deadheading back to Cleveland for the "Ohio State Limited".
Is this the same line that went through kenton?
No. These are all on the Cincinnati Line.
@@RailroadMediaArchive oh alright 👍
