Never heard of the tuskegee Syphilis Study before this, to think how recently something so inhuman was conducted is disturbing. People can be vile, I just hope future generations continually improve and become more compassionate.

@@mateonelson3862 yeah I did gather that, my understandings that they prevented individuals from receiving proper treatment and diagnosis. Leaving someone in that dark is pretty much as bad as causing it in my opinion. As you say, fucked up regardless.
The tuskegee study was actually a continuation of THE OSLO STUDY which involved 2000 patients from 1891 to the 20s with white males with doctors watching the disease run its course with no meds... Then that information was used in comparison in the tuskegee studies... Except in the tuskegee study they used placebos and such.. Yes they did block information from the participants but they didnt inject them with syphilis they already had it... It was a group of 600... 399 which had syphilis and 201 which did not as a control group... As far as meds go treatment for syphilis prior to 1947 was arsenic based... 1947 was when they figured out that penicillin treats syphilis and used that as the standard regular treatment

Went to a JID concert in Milwaukee before covid, highest energy out of any concert I've ever been too. He interacts with the crowd so well and since it was a smaller venue he stayed after the show to meet us all 1 on 1 next to the stage. Super dope and down to earth.

There has been even further research on the Tuskegee experiment. There are interviews with relatives of individuals who where a part of the experiment. I would suggest not only searching on the experiment but finding those interviews as well. They paint a slightly different light on what happened.
