John is so right about the men should not show emotions/whine be weak part, it's a harsh truth but I am grateful someone has the balls to actually say it and save guys a lot of stress down the line.
But then what is the value of a relationship? If I don't have a person which goes with me through deep valleys, why should this person be worth to be around me when everything is great. I think the real turn off for men/women are not the part of sharing your sad emotions, it's about inner surrender and not going forward anymore.
@@luneth5646 I agree, this realization of not being able to fully open up, as well as continued shit tests and decline in sex frequency and other stuff, has me questioning if a relationship is even worth it...
Hey John I think you'd be helping more people if you expand your targeted audience to men of all ages. I'm 63 and your message connects with me. Younger people think that older people have different thoughts, they don't. We still have goals to achieve and disappointment and hardships to overcome, still like the ladies and like to be strong. You already have all the material all you have to do is the packaging and marketing and you know that also. An added bonus the older guys have money for your services. Love you videos man!!

Great advice. This dude is so young, socials make us think greatness is achieved overnight. It isn't, ever. It takes years of hard work and dedication, in 40 years no one will even remember you've gotten your diploma late, but you have to be consistent and work hard. Most people in their 50s don't have their life in order, they're still trying to figure it out! They lie about it, sure, and they only show the best part, but truth is, they're winging it just like you, but with the thousand more responsabilities that accrue over time. You're young, you don't even realize what an incredible advantage you have. Take it slow, become great, you'll be amazed by what you can achieve.
Shift from the victim mindset to the survivor mindset. Yeah your life really f***ing sucks, but you made it through and now you're making it better. One day you're going to pass this advice on to someone else.
My social anxiety is way too crippling and won't let me get where I want to go in life. Exposure therapy hasn't helped, in basic situations like the gym/store I'm still always on guard and pretty nervous. Starting to feel like at 30 this just isn't fixable and I'm stuck with a miserable life. It's easy to say go approach people or join groups or whatever but my brain will not let me. Even if people make the first move... like girl approaching me at the gym who had previously complimented me on physique... I freeze up, act super awkward, and get out the situation as fast as possible. Not really sure what to do anymore and it's just getting worse which makes me think I have two options... just dealing with my misery or checking out.
What you are experiencing is completely normal for anyone with social anxiety and you can get better. The only way though is to take risks no matter how terrified you are. For context, I am someone who literally shit my pants in school 3 times because I was too afraid to ask the teacher. If I can do it so can you.
15:43: I don't believe everything happens for a reason, some shit happens for bad/avoidable reasons. I do believe you gotta reframe yourself and every situation you encounter tho. Fire consumes obstacles🔥🔥
Goes to show that us guys don't know anything as teenagers even though we think we're so smart and know everything. Once he gets older and wiser he'll start to realize how wrong he was about certain things. Hopefully he makes it that long.
I can (somewhat) relate to the subject of this video in the sense that I've been "somewhere there" at one point...which isn't really special by the way. Life isn't a joyride for ANYONE and EVERYONE feels like shit at some point, for some reason. All bad and good things are transitory in the same way. When I felt like shit I just refused to keep feeling like shit, refused to keep complaining and refused to let myself be a roadblock on my own development. I was crippling shy about people in general (let alone women) so what I did? I put myself in front of people as much as I could, leading seminaries at High School and college. But I still felt anxious about people, so I sought to teach classes for some time. I played in bands and did plenty of other things that fear wouldn't allow me to do. I also was afraid of heights. So I climbed a fucking tower, sat there, looked down, looked around and let myself fear, but I stood there in defiance. I Feared everything all the time, until my fears and insecurities started to weaken and I started to Win here and there, time and again. During some of my worst depression I Graduated in Architecture. I made a modest amount of money, but I made it. Dated the woman of my dreams. Later on I had some of the best sex I couldn't believe I could have. I had experienced love in more than one occasion. I created some amazing memories. I also fucked up a lot too, but I keep "correcting the course", collecting a few Wins here and there, and will keep doing so, which is why I feed on some of the nice thoughts that (for instance) this Bulldog Mindset channel tries to convey. Did my "Fear" ever die? Absolutely not, Fear will never die, BUT it is living under my sole now, and it lives there because I stood up to most challenges. And I have to keep my eyes open all the time, because Fear is ALWAYS trying to get the best of me, which sometimes It does, but then again... that is life. A constant challenge. Perseverance, patience and faith. Each win is great and each loss sucks... and fuck it! There is always a new chance to do better! By the way John, I love the "hard edged" way you cast enlightened ideas. This channel is really great!
8:16 gold. I always relied on how "smart" I was at school, then when I entered University I quickly found "talent" wasn't gonna cut it. Quick learner sure, but procrastination and just not prioritizing the right stuff set me back for a while.
"I'm bad at math... I can just try all 1,000 combinations to unlock my buddy's 4 digit lock"... You mean 10,000? Lol... good content, just fucking with you
Some great points here! I have a question though: At what point do you decide something is just not for you? I am a software engineer now and I'm thinking about reskilling. It's not that I'm bad at it, I just discovered that I'm not very interested in software development itself, but rather the things you could do with it. However, as a software engineer, you can't be picky about what kind of projects you do, regardless if it aligns with your values.
"At what point do you decide something is just not for you?"- At the point when you grow a set and decide to do something about the situation you are in.....
well in a sports setting you can always work on yourself, but if you happen to have a bad boss or bad teacher, things are not so easy anymore, they are effectively sabotaging you
Hey John, I'm just a little confused on the segment where you suggest lowering your expectations as this seems quite contradictory to the overall message you deliver of always working to better yourself. If I lower my expectations and I accept working in a dead-end minimum wage job, should I just be happy that I have a job? Or be excited and content if I get a $1 an hour pay rise? That sure fits in with lowering your expectations, but doesn't fit the overall message. Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you were trying to say there.
They're gonna call this COPE...ive found its almost pointless to try and correct decades of a failure mentality... Only hope would be to join a martial arts club. true self improvement
Also keep in mind seneca was the richest man in rome. He was indifferent to the outcome but still kept all the upside for the upsides sake. " do not call the grapes sour if you have not yet tasted them"
Nihilism, and the agony that it will cause, is an effective way to raise cortisol levels to burn muscle mass and to become completely inert . Even though a lot of people think that YOLO adagium, or the "live like it is your last day" is motivating. I of course understand that people don't want to delude themselves and don't want to engage in escapism, but ironically contemplating death can become a kind of escapism....the escapism of ones daily life.
15:37 We shouldn't assign meaning to events where none exists. Everything that occurs to us is either the result of cause and effect, or completely random. The universe operates at a level of abstraction that is quite far removed from our worldly experiences. 16:21 I completely agree with this, however. To add, introducing higher-quality, more intense stimulation would objectively improve his life. (For example, some parents get their sons into motocross as early as 10 years old, and their girls performing backflips from a 2-inch bar as early as 5.) Few people find happiness in a lifetime of being compelled to sit still, withhold their expression, perform tedious and unrewarding tasks for the entire day, and repeat these oppressive routines _ad infinitum._ The "life is a gift" platitude is likely from his parents. Parents have a great deal of ego investment in their children, and it's often reflected in everything they say to them.
@@jesuslovesashovelhead6173 Does NOT mean you have to follow the “herd mentally”...I thought you were better than that? I guess in some ways you’re a follower as well as a leader!
