Blooming has changed the taste of my coffee, it makes it taste like Starbucks coffee! Before I would just add my grounds and fill the press with water let it sit 5 minutes and it tasted just okay. Letting it bloom for 40 seconds changes the flavor! Thanks for teaching me this!
I've been using a French Press incorrectly for 20 years. You're right about the bloom, I feel like I've wasted several thousand pounds of coffee since '03. Thank you!
Per some coffee experts….consider ONLY pressing abt half way. Pressing all the way down, negatively disturbs the grounds…even tho there is filter screen. Something to consider. Thank u for your helpful vid!
This is great! I actually bloom twice .. fill to halfway with water and bloom again .. then I fill to the top with water and let it sit (no stirring!) for 5min .. perfect every time!
I ran out of Aeropress filters this morning and groaned as I reached for the French Press. This was the first time I tried your recipe, and it turned out great! I'll reach for the French Press more often 💜
I loved the taste of this coffee, for beginners it’s at first a little hard to get used to, but if you got a coffee scoop get five scoops of coffee beans and grind it in a coffee grinder, use 32 oz of water and wait four minutes then pour (do corse grind and also improve slowly on how you make French press coffee, make sure to also have a water kettle, thank me later)
So we have a metal one that’s a little different and i saw some people were confused so imma explain a simpler way. Pour in your grinds, (we have an actual grinder so I’m not entirely sure how much) boil some water, pour your water over your grinds, and if you don’t want it super bitter put 2 cracks of Himalayan salt. Sounds weird but really good. Put on lid and let sit for 5-8 mins. Slowly press till all grounds are at bottom and enjoy!
use boiling water the french press, even if pre-heated, will absorb some temperature, so the final temp will be at about 95 celsius. Hoffman has an excellent video about that, you should check it out!
No…bloom is the action the grounds are responding to the hot water..and just using a portion of the water..instead of the whole amount. There is a better response. Favor.. the foam is agitation and oils .by the pressing, ( or blender if making a blended coffee) CREATES the foam..the yummy part at the top after pressing..
@@CaitlinCampbellCC could you give me your definition on what a bloom is ,what it does for the coffee and experience that it delivers your lingo and jargon on coffee in a video. Thanks luv
@@CaitlinCampbellCC Yes. So are the fries. Why you guys keep calling this French is a mystery to me. The press I have only seen used in Germany and Scandinavia. I haven't seen one in France in my 27 years there. The fries are probably from Belgium. They are very popular in France, but seen as an American thing, like Coca-Cola.

It tastes like starbucks coffee? Wow.
Dang that sucks sorry to hear
I always bloom. Going through about 4 of these shorts so far, you're the only one blooming. Good show!
It’s the secret to a better cup in my opinion ☺️
Best french press example and in less than a minute. Thank you.

Can you make a video with some basics about brewing? Like, I'm not sure what blooming is and why it's done 😅
Absolutely 😀
I really recommend checking out James Hoffmann. He is extremely knowledgeable and accessible. I've learned tons about coffee from him
@@CaitlinCampbellCC 55g is way too much, you want between 18g and 23g of ground coffee.

Psalm 34:8:
"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him."
"Not my favorite way to brew" We can tell by the dust on the top LOL
Whoops 😅

Good tip
After steep pour through a paper filter
-healthier for people with any blood lipids issues
-not a muddy cup
Your videos are so cute! Love the energy and your adorable personality! 👍🏼😀

❤ just made my first cup of French pressed coffee today. I followed the instructions to a t and enjoyed every drop. It's definitely a game changer.

Blooming is the game changer for sure. Well done great instructions. ❤
Thank you so helpful, it took me 3 tries untill we found your video
I'm happy to hear how helpful your advice is. It's as wonderful as the coffee that flowed from the Presser itself.
Thank you - I made the best French press coffee after following your instructions
I miss my French press. Another great vid . Thank you

Thank you 😊
I know right
Love youe videos!
Thank you 😊
You should try James Hoffman way. I did and it’s the best French coffee I’ve ever had.
I love your videos
Good idea I try to pour really slow so the sediment stays undisturbed, never gonna be perfect but I kinda like that about French Press
Ill have yo try this, ive been using james hoffman's technique. Itll be fun to compare and contrast
Thanks my guy
cute video!! i just bought one of these
Looks delicious
Thank you 😊
Thanks for the tips..
Good job i should try this👍👌😊
Hi, just curious. What is your ratio for your French Press?
You're my coffee sensei! 🙏
I’m honoured 💜😀
For good cold brew using the press, is it better to lit it sit for 24 hours or can I just follow these same steps? With cold water not hot of course
If you're a French press drinker, a sifter is worth its weight in gold.
I'm gonna add that bloom in next time I french press.
What measurement should I use for a 12oz french press?
Are we using boiling water or does it taste better if the water cools a bit?
use boiling water
the french press, even if pre-heated, will absorb some temperature, so the final temp will be at about 95 celsius.
Hoffman has an excellent video about that, you should check it out!
Thank you, I'm going to try this....👏☕
When did John candy start brewing coffee?
How do i store the extra coffee made from french press? Do i leave it in fridge or what? Can u pls give me some details on how to do it ❤
Out of curiosity, why is it not one of your favorites?
Where are you located at? I love love to come try out your coffee ☕️ and show some support.
Just a little dusty but not dirty and if you have a decent grinder it’ll be fine.
Probably something(s) wrong with me but I like the little bits of ground coffee at the bottom of the cup.
Sooo I haven’t been blooming…and now I will. Thanks!
When Im not busy, ill make it ahead of time and let the cloudyness settle, just reheat after pouring
French press method is really good for afagatos
This is probably a dumb question, but is there a way to use this to make a single serving?
This is how I see all of them. Absolute menaces.
How much water is used? What is the ratio?
What's your favorite Halloween candy? Pumpkin pie latte pls!! Day 3
Amazing video's keep it up
Thank you 💜
Our French press looks exactly the same, covered from head to toe with dust lol
Bloom you say? Well, I learned something today.
Do I have to replace the filter?
So what’s the best or your way to brew coffee ??
Question?!?!?? So like is the taste dark or sweet because I am a sugar freak and I like very sweet coffee and idk if I will In joy it 😅
This isn’t sweet, I’d go pourover for that!
@@CaitlinCampbellCC alright thank you 😊
Thanks Caitlin I'm going to bloom the coffee, I've been just dumping water in the whole time haha
Use James Hoffman method. Way cleaner.
When you bloom, do not stir straight away.
What is a "bloom" ???
Is that the "froth" ???

When did we move to metric system??
Ty
I am here because of YMH and because I am biying new coffee stuff. So I'll jear you out.
What does a dirty cup mean? More caffeine? More grounds?
Darker brew
Bloom huh 😉
The most important part

I love french press, best Coffee.. always.
“Just do it and thank me later” GOD TEIR sentence right there!!
Is there any way i could make iced coffee with a french press?
Not technically
Usually tastes really strong !!!
I don’t like referring to this as “bloom” as if it’s a fungus
Can you make a cold brew with a French press?
What is your favorite method?
Chemex 😀
What about some videos using the only true to make coffee ......A caffetiera
Can't help it ....it gets dirty had mine since University 😉

To each their own, 55g is not way too much lol
Didn’t know sadness from inside out was a coffee enthusiast
Those grounds are too “fine” for my taste. Definitely not coarse enough for me, great info regardless!
Can you brew beer?
I hope one day I will be as popular as you respect to caitlin
I made this drink and threw it on my pc it didn't change my games
