My name is Noelle, I'm currently only 16 years into this horrible life of mine. In late January, 2015, I lost my little sister Amelie at her young age of 11, since then this year has been extremely rough for me and my family.. I come from a broken home, and a rough past that really no one should ever have to go through including physical and sexual abuse. Early Febuary I had written out a suicide note and was ready to do it, I was going to kill myself. But a friend of mine sent me a link to this video, and from then till this current moment I have been so very in love with your music. You guys saved me and have made this year that much more tolerable knowing that no matter what your music is here for me. You guys are so very amazing and I owe you everything. Thank you. Thank you. These are talented people who deserve to be on the radio, no one on the radio provides the music that most people love and that's the problem, this band (in my opinion) is great and makes songs that is true to them and to others.

I remember the year this song came out. It was one of the worst and darkest years I've been through. Things were about the same for about 7 years after and it wasn't until a few months ago that I truly felt better and happier and now i treasure every day that comes. I'm in a much better place than where I was and I'm very grateful. It was this song back in 2012 that gave me a crumb of hope, a sanctuary, and I'm so glad that i held on to it. hang in there everyone, this song speaks the truth -- "even broken wings can fly away"
this deserves millions and millions of views and it belongs on the radio except what's super popular today is definitely not this kind of music. People as talented as the one's in Paradise Fears deserve to be highly recognized for their work instead of people who don't write their own songs and just have a huge record label behind them
I have seen Paradise Fears 4 times in the past 3 years, every time I go my life becomes more clear. At this most recent show I saw, I had this feeling of intense happiness. As an agnostic person who is getting better with mental help issues, I found this song as wonderful as it helped me through that time. To anyone out there who is too overwhelmed by life, I won't say it'll get 100% better, but if you try, you may find your way out of the darkness and into the light.

This song did so much for me when I was in high school, around when this song first came out. I’m going through such a hard time and I randomly thought of this song for the first time in 7 years. I’m actually starting to feel a little less hopeless right now.
Back in 2013 this song really helped through a tough time and now in 2022 Im back on the Paradise Fears just trying to pull through again.

I've been listening to this song on repeat, because it's the only thing that gets me through life right now. "Sanctuary" has given me the courage to tell someone that my grandfather is abusive, and now I finally feel like I belong in the world. To Paradise Fears: thank you for giving me the strength to raise my voice, and for teaching me that even broken wings can fly.
I want to thank these guys. Them and others like them helped me get though court battles between my parents, kept me from going off the edge and becoming a number. The scars now are faint... and time is the best healer.

I clicked on this video randomly one day when I'd been going through a rough time for as long as I could remember and after watching this video I felt like I wasn't alone anymore, I had music like this and I had God, and this was the song that made me decide to go to church and ever since then my life has just turned around. I don’t remember what happened exactly but there was one night after mass where I just stayed in the church long after everyone left and just sat in a pew alone and I remembered this song. Actually listening to it in a empty church like in the video made it even more powerful than normal when I’m just sitting in my room and I was able to just let everything I was feeling out and cry and listen to lyrics and knowing that it would pass was so comforting. I wish I had discovered them while they were still together and gotten to see them in concert so I could thank them in some way.

Sam's very aware of depression self harm suicide ,ect . yeah theres this guys who goes to my CCYC his name is JT Mills and I literally thought he was Sam Miller so I freaked out and I went back last week again and he acted weird around me and in the prayer circle he held me hand like a couple loop but he like 2 years older than me and I like him hes always looking at my scars and on Thursday night I asked him at camp fire if I ate 8 fire balls at once if I would die hes said he hoped not but I shouldn't and I did and I didn't have water and then I guess he saw on my shirt that my tonge was bleeding and he literally yelled at me to spit them out I thought he just hated me but then I realized he was tryingto make sure I wouldn't die because he also saved me from a suicide attempt because I had fell in the grass outside and yelled his name and few others he found me crying moments from death and he made me throw up but I thought he hated me cause after I got baptized he was the only councler who didn't hug me and said they loved me and I said I was freeing cold and he said "im freezing cold and im not even soaking wet " I got so mad amd sad I started crying and running away but im still very unsure about hm hes 15 im 13 almost 14 but I think he hates me and im scared because I didn't tell my parents I redecated my self to god but yeah im afaried they tell my parents about my scars and my baptism

Reyna Fisher Let me say something: 7 or even ten years is nothing. In the grand scheme of things, 10 years is a long time looking forward, but not back. And it DOES get better. I went through 2 suicide attempts, years of being outcasted, abused, call worthless.
Useless. Stupid. Hopeless.
Waste. Of. Life.
And I'm here, and I survived. The trick is to just remember that one day it will get better. The tough part is getting through it, because once you're past the worst of it, you can't explain how you got better, you just DID IT. And you did it on your own. And the best part? If you can get through that, you can get through anything.
Me? I went through a lot of shit to get where I am now. I was the kid in the back of the class, with his head down and earbuds in. I wasn't strong physically, and I'm still not, and I wasn't a great student. So remember: the people who think they aren't smart or strong enough turn out to be the wisest and most self-sufficient people out there. I have an abundance of friends. I'm attractive, I can say that, as in high school I never would have thought of myself as anything but an ugly piece of shit.
But you grow out of it. And things get better, life moves on. Hell, even if you liked someone waaaay back who didn't like you then, guess what? They come back to you, and then you get to tell THEM no. Or yes, sometimes.
Everyone is welcome on this stage that we call life. It's time we start living it. :)

Had a very special girl who shared this song with me 7 years ago. She was the kind of girl you met too soon to appreciate and in the end you pushed away because you thought so lowly of yourself was beautiful brunette she was Italian with a smile that could shine brighter then the sun itself. I always kick myself but she was my muse to my poetry. She was my everything and even today she's left a big hole in my chest.

My life completely sucks and your music helps me through the crap in my life. I usually don't cry but when I need to cry, somehow I can't but when I listen to your beautiful music, I start crying right away. And even when I am not sad, your music still makes me cry because of how deep it is and how it relates to my life perfectly and I am sure to others too.
